My husband talked to the guys on the phone back in October setting up the scheduled move. We planned it for March 7th and advised we were moving from a 3rd floor 3 bedroom apartment in Lewisville to a two story home in Justin. He told them what all needed to be moved and specifically asked if they were going to charge per box and they said no. Everything was included.
Wednesday, March 4th we got a call in the evening saying that they couldn't do the move on Saturday and that they were booked. My husband explained that we had to turn our keys in that day, and that they had no other options. They guy he talked to (one of the movers said ok, they'll move us). My husband then talked to Derrick, their scheduler, who apologized and didn't know why they called and said they could move us.
Friday night we received a call stating that the guys would be there between 9 and 11a. The guys didn't show up until 11:57a on Saturday morning. Knowing that we had to move and leaving us NO time to find alternate movers, the guy came upstairs and said that the original quote for $990 was incorrect, that it was now going to be $1,750 and that we needed to provide cash or money order for the stuff to be unloaded from the Uhaul truck. We were left scrambling to come up with the additional $960 in a short amount of time.
To add insult to injury, the guys had the nerve to ask for a tip before leaving the apartment in Lewisville, and again while unloading the last of the stuff here in Justin.
In addition, they put together the bed wrong with the screws facing out, which gouged our brand new home's walls.

Refund I would like the additional $860 returned that was not agreed to in the updated emailed quote dated 01/01/20202, as well as compensation for the damaged wall.

TX Moving & Storage prepared an estimate in good faith based upon information provided by Mr.. The estimate described the services included in the estimate as well as services for which additional charges would apply, including packing services and additional flights of stairs. The estimate also explained the payment terms, which required payment of an open balance before the shipment could be unloaded. An estimate does not guarantee the cost of service.
Our records show Mr. & Mrs. were originally scheduled to move on Friday, but requested to reschedule for Saturday. TX Moving & Storage contacted Mr. & Mrs. to see if they were able to move on Sunday, which they were not. Despite an already busy schedule, TX Moving & Storage was able to accommodate Mr. & Mrs. preferred move date.
On the day of the move, Mr. & Mrs. ordered packing services and additional labor hours. Mr. & Mrs. also incurred charges for additional flights of stairs at both the pickup and delivery locations. The charges identified on the bill of lading are consistent with the services ordered by Mr. & Mrs. and the rates described in the moving estimate. Charges accurately reflected the services ordered by Mr. & Mrs..
TX Moving & Storage has an established claim process in place to assist customers with transit related claims. Mr. & Mrs. have been provided with information on filing a transit claim with our claim administrator.
Mr. & Mrs. are not entitled to a refund. The charges described on the Bill of Lading were consistent with the services Mr. & Mrs. ordered, and the rates described on the moving estimate. Thank you.

The business is being dishonest. Please see the attached .pdf that is an emailed version of the quote with the scheduled move date of Saturday, March 7th. A call was made to see if the move date could be moved up to Friday, March 6th, however, due to their trucks being in the Houston area they were unable to accommodate that request.
In addition, my husband told their employee when the quote was made that it would be moving from a third floor apartment to a two story home. Their sales manager, Derek, admitted that his employee Steve made an error and that he would've quoted higher and that Steve was placed on an improvement plan for his error.
In regards to additional packing services, that is incorrect. Everything in the apartment was completely packed up and just required to be moved. In addition, we were quoted a flat rate of $90/hour for three men for an estimated 10 hours. Steve said that the number of boxes didn't matter, nor did the padding to protect our stuff. Per the screenshot attached, the movers didn't show up until 11:57 am when they needed to be buzzed through the gate. They finished at approximately 9:00 pm. That's 9 hours leaving an extra hour to return home.
We originally scheduled the movers back in October 2019 when we started building our home. The final date was secured 3 weeks in advance when we received a close date. They had plenty of notice for our scheduled move. After the bad experience with this moving company, I did a search online regarding Texas Moving & Storage and found another complaint 2 days prior to our move with the same exact experience. The company is not operating in good faith and is taking advantage of consumers.
