We received a bill this week from our energy provider TXU Energy only to notice we had "Miscellaneous Charges" of $($- Deposit; $Disconnect Notice Fee; $Late Penalty Fee), current usage charge $74.79, Past due amount $(ALREADY PAID) making our bill $I contacted TXU about the dollar amount thinking it was a mistake, which it wasn'tI was informed by their customer service rep [redacted] that the deposit charge was made on our account because we had a TWO late paymentsI was then transferred to their corporate office and I spoke with [redacted] in their customer service department [redacted] explained to me that the deposit charge was unrecoverableI expressed my opinion that I felt that the deposit charge was an OUTRAGEOUS amountIt made me feel, as a consumer, that TXU takes advantage of their customers when they are in a financial bindTHINK about it! what HONEST, AMERICAN COMPANY charges you an additional $DEPOSIT + LATE+DISCONNECTION feeI understand the late charges and disconnection but not the DEPOSIT CHARGE! We where forced to have TXU be our energy provider, after the company, we had been using stopped providing energy We have received multiple bills a month When I say multiple bills I do not mean on the 1st, but around or Each with a different amount on them The first month we received a bill for just over 300$ the top of what we normally payed before The next month it was This month it was 560$ We live on a fixed income We only get around 2000$ a month to live on This month they said our usage went upBut we have not ran any major electric items this last monthWe where unable to pay the 560$ on time due to limited incomeWe payed it days lateSo they have now hit us for 151$ more or disconnectThey also have now tact on a depositOf 500$ for our next month bill on top of what ever our Electric bill will be I am afraid me and my wife who are retired will not be able to pay that We had to get the money from our kids to pay the 151$ My neighbor electric bill is less then 250$ a month We want to switch companies But now Since we owe a deposit They say we can not switch till we payI have never heard of such bull swagger in all my life I think TXU is being ran by the old school mobThey charge 151$ for days late They then charge a deposit on top of that for 500$ I am I paying a Vig?
I have been using TXU for past 20 months and moved to new location in September 16, thats when TXU started scamming me. So far I have been billed $881.72 in total ever since I started their service and I already paid 928.67 until last month and still they are sending me bill around $80. When I talked to customer service the representative says it was transferred from old account and I calculated total billed amount on my account and total paid till date and explained to him. He says it was correct but denied to fix my bill and hang on me, I called back and requested call back but no one responded. What a scamming company? I am just waiting my contract to expire and switch with another company. And, based on my bill calculation my average KWH price is $0.15 which is the highest amount so far in TX. My suggestion to TXU be on practice of what you quote. Don't just make up advertisement to scam people.

I contacted TXU about the dollar amount thinking it was a mistake, which it wasn't. I was informed by their customer service rep [redacted] that the deposit charge was made on our account because we had a TWO late payments. I was then transferred to their corporate office and I spoke with [redacted] in their customer service department. [redacted] explained to me that the deposit charge was unrecoverable. I expressed my opinion that I felt that the deposit charge was an OUTRAGEOUS amount. It made me feel, as a consumer, that TXU takes advantage of their customers when they are in a financial bind. THINK about it! what HONEST, AMERICAN COMPANY charges you an additional $290.00 DEPOSIT + LATE+DISCONNECTION fee. I understand the late charges and disconnection but not the DEPOSIT CHARGE! REALLY! Are they that desperate for money? This is a great way to loose business and potential loyal customers. I live in Denison and our bill jumped up so wife swithched to a different provider saying it would save us alot. I mailed in Bill TXU and yet still to post, I sent in Bill with new provider posted.
TXU has been calling almost daily offering for to pay for switch back penealties, gift 250 and a lower rate for 2 yrs locked. I think if they offer all this why did they not just take care of the costomer like us.
My sister told me her terms of 2yrs ran out and she found where they went up and she found on web page you can choose a lower plan. ? Thats crazy to treat customers this way.
I still find myself thinking of the offers from TXUand wonder wow.
