Review: I decided to try a new place with my friend and we went to get pedicures and I wanted to get my nails done as well. While doing my nails I noticed it seemed dirty and they were using used tools (my usual place opens new tools everytime). The lady was doing an acrylic set and I noticed it looked weird, thick and full of bubbles and yellow under one nail and I brought it to her attention. She said no it was fine. I usually keep quiet if I don't like something and don't like to be mean or create issues and be embarrassed but these were BAD!! She said "go wash your hands-they look better then" but that just magnified how terrible they were. I showed her and she tried to say it was the polish (which was old and thick) and I said no its the nails and acrylic they are terrible and need to be soaked off. The manager came over and said whats the problem and I told her and she said let me file them and I said no I want to leave and I shouldn't have to pay for this. She said I still had to pay and charged me $54.00 not even offering to make it right or take off the charge for the nails. I told her I should not have to pay for this and told them it wasn't sanitary as well. She would not give me the owners name or her name. I called the health dept and informed them and I only paid because I honestly didn't know that I could refuse to pay in that situation. I have tried calling and she will not give me the owners name and she is the only one who answers. I want to be refunded for this and let others know of their practices. I should have read the reviews before, but now after reading them I see that people have gotten infections as well and now I am afraid of that. I am now trying to soak the nails off but it is painful and that is going to mess up my natural nail as well. Not only am I out the money for a terrible job, and unsanitary service but now also out of the money to pay to remove the nails and have my regular place try to fix the damage from getting these things off. I am so upset.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund of $54.00. I am leaving to go out of state to be in a wedding in 3 days and getting my nails done was for the wedding. Now I will most likely not be able to even have them done after the damage from getting these terrible nails off.

To Whom It May Concern:

Thank you for taking the time to consider my side of the story. I will be glad to answer all the questions brought up.

1. We do sanitize all of our equipment. The reason we don't have tool boxes that we open per customer is that all of our equipment is one-time use as per New Mexico State Board.

2. When the customer came in she had only asked for a pedicure. She had no complaint with the pedicure and then asked for a New Set.

3. Our policy on New Sets is that if a customer is unsatisfied we will gladly have a different nail tech repair the service. If the customer is still un happy we will take them off. However, a service was rendered and the time and product were taken to provid this service. If the customer to take off the nails at that point is when we will not charge for the service.

We will refund the amount for the New Set however, we will not refund the amount for the pedicure, she had no problem with.

Pedicure was $25.00 with tax came to $26.75.

New Set was $26.00 with tax came to $27.82
