Tygers Auto Body, Inc. Reviews (1)

Tyger 's Auto Body, Inc5129 W County Road 500 SGreensburg, IN 47240812-663-3040  This letter is in response to a complaint your office received concerning our business, Tyger's Auto Body Inc and [redacted]. Ms [redacted]'s vehicle was towed to our shop from Acra Automotive. Our...

manager, Johnathon Tyger, wrote an estimate to repair all damage on the vehicle. This original estimate totaled$7200. Ms [redacted],having no insurance stated that she could not afford to repair all the damage. All she wanted was the front end repaired. She had asked if we could use used parts to make the repair bill cheaper. At that time a new estimate was written for $2856.19. The new estimate does show frame damage (Radiator Support GM part $200). This repair was completed. Enclosed you will find pictures of the damage and a copy of the final estimate. While the vehicle was in our care we purchased a similar that we intended to use for parts. This vehicle was aesthetically in great shape. It was drivable but the transmission was slipping. I called Ms. [redacted] and offered to sell her our vehicle explaining that I would take her transmission and swap it to this vehicle. I told her she could come and drive the vehicle before I made the swap if that was something she would be interested in. The cost for the new vehicle with her transmission would have been the same as the estimate. This would have been a great deal for Ms. [redacted] as all panels on this vehicle were in perfect condition. Ms. [redacted] sounded interested in this deal on the phone. The next day her boyfriend called and said they were not interested in the deal and he just wanted her vehicle fixed per the estimate. We agreed to do as he requested. Upon completion of the repairs per the estimate, Ipersonally drove Ms. [redacted]'s vehicle to Greensburg and back. That distance is roughly twenty-four miles. Inoticed no issues other than the brakes were in need of repair. This item was not on the estimate. Icalled and told her that her vehicle was ready to be picked up. The next day she came to collect her vehicle. Ms. [redacted] stated that she was pleased with the repairs that were made. She was $56.19 short of paying her bill but we wrote that off and let her have it. She later came back and said that when she applied the brakes that the steering wheel shook a little. Iinformed her that was caused from hard braking and that it did need rotors and brakes. The next afternoon her boyfriend called the shop stating that the vehicle was making a funny noise which they thought was from the wind as it was very windy when they drove it. I offered to come and look at the car at no charge to them. If the noise was wind and something that Icould repair Iwould do so at no charge. If it was something else Iwould take it to the shop Iuse for mechanical issues and let them know what they said. The boyfriend then stated that he would take it and have it looked at. A week went by before we heard anything. He stated the shop he took it to said their was something wrong with the rear end. Please note, the rear end is not on the estimate per Ms. [redacted]'s request. At this time, 1offered to again come and pick it up to see what was wrong with it. He asked what Iwould charge. Itold him Iwould not charge to pick it up but if unrelated to what was repaired, whatever the repair cost would be, they would be liable for. At this time, the boyfriend threatened to sue us. Iinformed him that if that was their decision then all conversations would stop until we heard from his attorney. All originalconversations were with Ms. [redacted]. The boyfriend had no involvement with what she wanted repaired based on what she could afford. We have not had contact with Ms. [redacted] since she picked up her vehicle. Ihope this helps in explaining the service we provided Ms.[redacted] and the attempt we were willing to make to try and help her with any subsequent issues. As you can see from the photos, the vehicle suffered major damage to all panels. We repaired the panels that would allow Ms.[redacted] to drive the vehicle without issue per her request to just work on the front of the car. No mechanicalwork was quoted on on the estimate or performed on the vehicle.Thank you for contacting us. If we can be of further assistance please let us know. Our aim is to make our customers happy and keep them for their future auto body needs.          We regret that Ms. [redacted] feels that we did not meet our end of the agreement but as you can see by the estimate, everything that was quoted was repaired. That being said, we do not feelthat her "desired settlement" request of a refund is a founded request. We would be happy to take the vehicle to a mechanic in Greensburg that we use frequently for additionalmechanical repairsbut those would be at the expense of Ms. [redacted] as there were no mechanical repairs quoted in the estimate. Please be assured that if Idid not think the vehicle was safe to drive Iwould have informed her and expressed to her that she should not be driving it.Respectfully, Dennis Tyger Co-Owner/Auto Body Technician
