On August 31st [redacted] called and spoke with our Service Advisor David.  [redacted] had called due to her headlamps being out and asked us to check for an open fuse for her.  David advised we would be happy to check a fuse while she waited, but if needed further inspections, the vehicle would...

need to have a technician take it in the shop which would incur a charge.   [redacted]’s roommate came in and did not advise that she was [redacted]’s roommate, but she had stated that her roommate’s headlight switch had been smoking.  Our manager Aaron advised that we charge to diagnose this concern, it would be up to $115.00.  Her roommate then left.   [redacted] called back upset that David did not tell her this.  He told [redacted] that she had told him she thought this was a fuse. [redacted] did not mention the headlight switch was smoking.  He told [redacted] that we would be happy to check the fuse at [redacted]’s request for no charge. [redacted]’s roommate came back in and while she waited, David went to the car and pulled the headlamp fuse out.  The fuse is located next to the steering wheel.  He showed the good fuse to her roommate and the roommate stated that the headlamp switch had been smoking.  David showed her that the fuse was perfectly fine, installed and advised her that she had other issues especially since the headlamp switch had been smoking.  My manager advised her to diagnose this, it would cost up to $115.00 to diagnose.  Her roommate said okay, thanks and left.  We did not get into the car, nor did we start the car as well.  We did not even get the keys from this person.  She was in our office less than two minutes and left and we showed her the fuse was still good.  There was no charge to this person.  We would be happy to look at this car, but there is a charge fee to diagnose as stated before and I advised [redacted] of all of this when she called on the phone and spoke with me.  She advised we caused her headlamps to go out, which is why she came in to begin with.  Inspecting and installing.  Pulling a fuse that takes less than 15 seconds will not cause any electrical issues that are not already present. The smoking of the switch is the place to start. I believe these issues had been going on to begin with.  [redacted] needs to have the vehicle diagnosed properly. We would be happy to inspect our work, and if anything is related to inspecting the fuse, there would be no charges. We will need authorization to diagnose.      As for giving out quotes, we tell every customer that we charge to diagnose.  We pay for technicians to spend the time to try to get to the bottom of the issues.  [redacted] advised David that it was a fuse, which we will gladly check for no charge. If it is a fuse, it is a 30 second fix and we send our customers at no cost on their way.  But, the fuse needs to be blown to do so.  [redacted] would not listen to reason as I tried to speak with her she continued to argue that this was all our fault.  This makes it incredibly hard to try to get a word in to advise what is needed.    The last thing she said is that she would report us to the Revdex.com.  I advised [redacted] that we had done nothing wrong and if she needed or would like she could come and look at the security video.

This letter is for the purpose of clarifyingthe truth on the matter of this complaint by [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] Dropped hisvehicle off at our shop on 6/19 and asked us to perform the requested repairs.·        Install new rear main seal of...

the transmission·        Install 2 new front shocks Mr. [redacted] was given a verbalestimate of $650 to complete the repairs. We have signs posted of his right toa verbal, written or no estimate. He agreed verbally to the repairs and theserepairs were completed. Tyler’s Garage did NOT diagnose these issues withthe vehicle. We only completed these repairs at the request of the customer. Weare not responsible if the states hi transmission was not fully repaired as wedid not guarantee this would fix any problem that he may have had, we simplyinstalled the parts that the customer requested. He should have had our garagediagnose his issue and address it accordingly. While completing the front shocks wenoticed that his vehicle needede a driver’s side front lower ball jointreplaced. We discussed this with Mr. [redacted] and told him it would be anadditional $50 for the additional repair. Again he agreed. This is where theadditional $50 in his complaint is from. Mr. [redacted] was just an irrationalcustomer that would call after business hours demanding to get his vehicle. Heis not our only customer, and his vehicle had no precedence over anyone else.We feel that’s what he is angry about. We only had the vehicle for six dayswhich is a reasonable amount of time for such repairs. When the repairs werecompleted he brought a [redacted] County Sherriff with him to pay his invoice infull and nothing extra. We welcomed the officers presence. Mr. [redacted] repairs were completed infull and in accordance with all laws and our Terms of Agreement. Thanks, Tyler S[redacted]
