i’ll just try to rundown the process here quicklyWe start with your responses to the branding brief, then try to come up with any additional questions for you as a result of that - We also look at your competition as well as other businesses like yours to get a sense of what you’ll be up against visuallyYou need something unique, which isn’t that tough in real estate, but there are some real estate logos out there - we’ll keep these in mind as we work in order to set you apartThen this is where time becomes a help factor - digesting all the info and letting it show up as we brainstorm and begin sketches to form our thoughts into something substantialThis is the biggest part for me, but the most fun as wellOnce I have a good amount of ideas/sketches I begin moving the rough/messy sketches into illustrator software to see if they can be made nicely, this is where the idea either makes it or gets removedOnce I have enough concepts going in illustrator I start moving them into the presentation file, this shows each logo on a page in several sizes (with the icon being shown at about ¼ inch) to show how they will look both large and small (as well as reversed on black)Once I have at least strong logos and feel like there’s really no where else to go with them - I send them to you! This is a bit abbreviated of course, but hope it's helpful, if you want to chat just let me know a good time for the callthanks!Jason ***Typework Studio [redacted] *** [redacted] *** *** ***I have included the logos that Jason sent to me which you can clearly see, they are:Not creative RepetitiveLogos other companies have used I am going to provide a logo that another company is currently usingYou can see that the logo Jason sent to me is not "unique" at allIn fact since I filed this complaint, I have seen a few of the logos that Jason has sent to me being used quite a lot by other companies During my recent phone call with Jason on Friday he stated that he uses a catalog to come up with logos which is something he conveniently left out when I contracted himUsing a catalog is not the same as creating something from "scratch".Jason, told me that he expects to keep my money simply because he did workHe said it doesn't matter if the work is bad or noth what I wanted, he should be paid regardlessI told Jason that I expect a "full" refund since I did not finalize any logoI think something very important to this complaint isJason will not move to phase two of the logo process which is making any changes or edits to any of the logos until you pay him the final amount of money that he is owed so you have to choose a logo before he will proceed which is why I chose the exclamation pointI did not finalize that logo, I chose it so that Jason would complete the project that I had contracted him to doHad I not done that, Jason would have just kept my $simply for drawing or in his case, choosing logos from a catalog or from another company and not doing anything else. This is horrible business practice from a companyI expect Jason to do the right thing and refund all of my money and except that I was simply not happy with his work The fact that he would just keep arguing with a customer should scream volumes of this company's reputation!

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]Regards, [redacted] It seems that all this merchant wants to do is slander me and fight with meI've said this before but I believe it's worth repeatingthe general public doesn't pay money to merchants to get nothing in returnJason feels that because he did some work (good or bad) he should be paidHe does not care that his customer is not happy with his work, he didn't want to work with me to make me happy He did not provide me with a contract that spelled out "his" policyHe told me on the phone that he has no policy and the reason he has no policy in writing is so that he can do this to peopleWith no contract, the customer can't ask for a refundAll other logo companies I have consulted with, all had a contract which spelled out their policyEvery single one of the companies I spoke to also said that they want their customer to be happy and would do what it took to make the customer happy Jason insulted me in his last response when he said I am "obviously" an exclamation point which is also SEXIST! Because I registered a complaint with the Revdex.com, I am nothing more than a loud womanTake note women! He made a previous racist remark when I spoke with him over the phone and I believe he referenced it in one of his responsesWhy a supposed reputable company would not provide a client with a contract which spelled out the company's policies is beyond me It's not professional and it's sketchy Also, he really believes that even though he did not finalize a logo for me, that he's entitled to just keep my money...even though he told me on the phone in our initial conversation that he'd refund me if I wasn't happy He also lied to me by saying that he'd create a UNIQUE LOGO for me and what he provided to me (I have also provided Jason's work in a previous response) was anything but UNIQUE He said he created from scratch his logos and then he told me after the fact that he uses a catalog to choose his logos whichAnyone reading these responses from Jason can see that all he wants to be is argumentative and wants to insult meHe also told me that other clients of his who were unhappy never complained online I thought it was about time that someone finally didI would never use this company ever again and I am going to keep trying to get my money backHe should have been very specific before I hired him and stated that if I wasn't happy and did not choose a logo, that there was no refund but that's NOT what he saidHe doesn't provide a company policy just so there would be a gray area for him to slither around in to be able to complain that he did some work so shouldn't he at least be paid for it even if it's crappy work! The fact remains that I am not happy with the work he provided, he did not provide the services he promised, I have no logo from him and therefore, I should be refunded ALL of my money!

The client walked through the logo design process we started after she told us she had no idea of what she wanted - we created a variety of logos and she told me she struggled between two of the concepts, as she said she liked them bothShe chose a logo with an icon which was a unique combination of an exclamation point that was also a door, with door handle and welcome matThen she wanted to see a variety of different typeface options, ultimately reverting back to my original designAfter this process she wanted to investigate color combinations, so we produced various color palettes based on her preferences for oranges, purples, blues, and tealsShe eventually came to choosing a color version, then announced her partner didn't want the logo and she now then needed a full refund from us.There is simply no basis for a full refund this far into the projectA full refund occurs when someone returns a product unused, we've spent weeks of our time on this.I don't even know how to respond to the gross mischaracterizations of what she claims I said, she has clearly misunderstood everything i've said, but it seems intentional in order to paint a horrible picture so as to bully a full refund - we have already refunded 50% of the design fee.The logo she chose (exclamation point/door combo) was and still is a great concept, her personality is obviously nothing less than an exclamation point and she's a realtor

Client contacted us for logo design explain gin she didn’t know what she wanted and asked us to create a logo for her real estate company named with a name which would have no visual symbols to identify itself. We took on the challenge based on our initial phone call discussing the project, in which...

I explained the difficulties of making a logo for a name which has nothing visual that relates to it, which might mean an abstract solution, she agreed. We proceeded with our work to create the 6 concepts she requested based on our fees, we presented 10 logos, some of which were variations of the six concepts. Here’s a summary in words:page 1 - key logopage 2 - house with ‘protective’ layer over itpage 3 - gift bow logopage 4 - 1st of 2 word mark logospage 5 through 7 - Variations of Monogram logospage 8 - Exclamation point/doorpage 9 - hand/house logopage 10 - 2nd of 2 word mark logos (the brief stated you liked word marks)so, that’s a summary of 10 logo layouts representing 6 concepts (key, house, gift bow, wordmark, monogram, Exclamation point/door)Client then had us make revisions to 2 of the logos, mainly just rearranging the type. Her response on october 14th to those revisions is here:"Jason,Hi,I like them in their original form now looking at them the way I wanted to see them.  I like them both. I like the key but thought that it was just too simple as everyone associates realtors with the key but it does also state.. to me anyway..  here’s the key to your sweet digs…  I like the other one as well because it’s strong.. so, I am stumped at this point.  I think I may go with the exclamation point logo because it’s different. If I do choose this one, what are the next steps?"Then on october 17th she sent this email:"This is a hard decision but I think I will go with the exclamation point logo. Let’s rock and roll!”At this point she wanted to see colors as well as seeing the icon we created with different typefaces, so we sent 6 different options and 16 color variations based on here request to use purple, teals, oranges.she discussed which ones she liked, saying she ‘liked #9 the best’At this point she informed me her partner did not like any of the logos. It’s confusing why her partner was not part of this process, to my knowledge, and that it took this long for the partner to see the logos or provide feedback. After all this she started discussing work on an app type logo, asking for a logo like the Facebook, google+, twitter app logos - which are color squares with a version of the main company logo in them. Also, she sent us a logo someone else had made (a heart/door concept) and asked if we could make something similar, which we tried to do - she then said she wanted the original heart/door logo. I suggested, as the logo she wanted had already been created, she go to the artist that created it - it would be illegal to recreate someone else’s logo. She didn’t seem to understand that if they saw her logo, realizing they made it then gave her a refund, they would inquire by what right she was using it. This would be a clear legal violation as they retain the copyright unless they had transferred it to her.So after this she asked me for a full refund, which I could not agree to after pouring so much time and energy into this project. I have refunded 50% of the agreed upon fee. She still wants the full refund with no exceptions and has proceeded with a list of actions she is taking against us, via legal action, social media, design websites, review websites, as well as Revdex.com. This seems unreasonable to me as she has all of our logos we’ve created in her possession and she would like us to have nothing in return, except a huge business loss.I am happy to provide any and all files, documents, emails regarding what has transpired

He went on to tell me that he did not care about this reputation because I am just one person and what harm could I possibly do to his reputation. He also stated that he has nothing in writing which states that he will ever refund customers if they are not happy with his work so that means he can keep all of their money.  This is an extremely, extremely unprofessional owner. Here is an email that he sent to me when I contracted him. I spoke with him the only other time and told him that I wanted a "unique" logo that nobody else had (when I spoke to him on the phone on November 9th, he stated that I didn't put that in writing so it didn't matter)  as you can see in his email to me, he states that he will create a "unique" logo for me[redacted]We can surely talk more about it - i’ll just try to rundown the process here quickly. [redacted] [redacted] [redacted]I have included the logos that Jason sent to me which you can clearly see, they are:1. Not creative 2. Repetitive3. Logos other companies have used I am going to provide a logo that another company is currently using. You can see that the logo Jason sent to me is not "unique" at all. In fact since I filed this complaint, I have seen a few of the logos that Jason has sent to me being used quite a lot by other companies.  During my recent phone call with Jason on Friday he stated that he uses a catalog to come up with logos which is something he conveniently left out when I contracted him. Using a catalog is not the same as creating something from "scratch".Jason, told me that he expects to keep my money simply because he did work. He said it doesn't matter if the work is bad or noth what I wanted, he should be paid regardless. I told Jason that I expect a "full" refund since I did not finalize any logo. I think something very important to this complaint is... Jason will not move to phase two of the logo process which is making any changes or edits to any of the logos until you pay him the final amount of money that he is owed so you have to choose a logo before he will proceed which is why I chose the exclamation point. I did not finalize that logo, I chose it so that Jason would complete the project that I had contracted him to do. Had I not done that, Jason would have just kept my $746 simply for drawing or in his case, choosing logos from a catalog or from another company and not doing anything else. This is horrible business practice from a company. I expect Jason to do the right thing and refund all of my money and except that I was simply not happy with his work.  The fact that he would just keep arguing with a customer should scream volumes of this company's reputation!

I've said this before but I believe it's worth repeating... the general public doesn't pay money to merchants to get nothing in return. Jason feels that because he did some work (good or bad) he should be paid. He does not care that his customer is not happy with his work, he didn't want to work with me to make me happy.       He did not provide me with a contract that spelled out "his" policy. He told me on the phone that he has no policy and the reason he has no policy in writing is so that he can do this to people. With no contract, the customer can't ask for a refund. All other logo companies I have consulted with, all had a contract which spelled out their policy. Every single one of the companies I spoke to also said that they want their customer to be happy and would do what it took to make the customer happy.  Jason insulted me in his last response when he said I am "obviously" an exclamation point which is also SEXIST! Because I registered a complaint with the Revdex.com, I am nothing more than a loud woman. Take note women!  He made a previous racist remark when I spoke with him over the phone and I believe he referenced it in one of his responses. Why a supposed reputable company would not provide a client with a contract which spelled out the company's policies is beyond me.  It's not professional and it's sketchy.  Also, he really believes that even though he did not finalize a logo for me, that he's entitled to just keep my money...even though he told me on the phone in our initial conversation that he'd refund me if I wasn't happy.  He also lied to me by saying that he'd create a UNIQUE LOGO for me and what he provided to me (I have also provided Jason's work in a previous response) was anything but UNIQUE.  He said he created from scratch his logos and then he told me after the fact that he uses a catalog to choose his logos which. Anyone reading these responses from Jason can see that all he wants to be is argumentative and wants to insult me. He also told me that other clients of his who were unhappy never complained online.  I thought it was about time that someone finally did. I would never use this company ever again and I am going to keep trying to get my money back. He should have been very specific before I hired him and stated that if I wasn't happy and did not choose a logo, that there was no refund but that's NOT what he said. He doesn't provide a company policy just so there would be a gray area for him to slither around in to be able to complain that he did some work so shouldn't he at least be paid for it even if it's crappy work! The fact remains that I am not happy with the work he provided, he did not provide the services he promised, I have no logo from him and therefore, I should be refunded ALL  of my money!
