Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2014/04/16) */
In response to complaint *** and *** ***, Tyson Motor's service department inspected their van on repair order XXXXXX dated January 16, The service department then went to look at all the other new vans in stock
here at the dealership and noticed all of them are the same as the the ***'s vanOn January 23, 2014, Mrs*** returned to our service department with the concerns of the gap in the doors of the vanThe service department submitted digital photos to Chrysler and they also asked Tyson's service department to compare new vans on the lotChrysler reviewed the digital photos and determined that the gap in the door was acceptableAt that point Mrand Mrs*** spoke to ***, the sales manager here at the dealership, for an extended period of timeThey then left and seemed all right with everythingWe respectfully request that this case be closed
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2014/04/26) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
In response to Tyson Motors, the gap to the left side door of my brand new Dodge Caravan which we purchased on January 11th, is not acceptable; for a brand new vehicle to have to go to the body shopRight then, we know there is something wrongTyson Motors stated that all their vans similar to mine all have a gap to the left side doorDoes this mean that they all have to go to the body shop? That's why my husband and I purchased a brand new vehicle to avoid problemsThis is a big investment on our partWe are the customers; we should not have to go through with thisMy husband and I were very disappointed with the serviceIf Tyson Motors stated that the gap at the left side door is "acceptable" then I would like to see proof; legal documentation directly from Chrysler in Detroit and mail it to my addressI would like to get a response as soon as possible with the proof

Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 16, 2014/05/15) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
In response to Tyson Motors, I am not satisfiedtrying to convince my husband and I that the gap at the left side door is acceptable, that we know it is notIf this was the case- why did my brand new vehicle have to go to the body shop? We cannot call this acceptableIt is poor craftsmanship, defective product and can be a safety issueMr*** from service deptcalled me as of January 23, and left a message- He said "It looks okay" meaning this person is not sure and told Mr*** to check the other vehicles similar to mine and according to MrBill they all have a gap at the left side door rather than the right sideNow, will they all have to go to the body shop? And we call this acceptable? We bought this brand new vehicle with high expectationsAs loyal customers we were not treated rightI still want my full refund for this

The end of May 2016, I inquired about a '16 [redacted] Charger Scat Pack color B5 Blue, which the dealership had list on there webpage. Not once but twice I was contacted by (Aaron [redacted]) regarding my inquiry, on Saturday June 4th my pregnant wife and 3 year old daughter took a flight from Los Angeles, Ca., to Chicago, Il., rented a vehicle, and got a hotel room for the weekend. On Sunday June 5th, they went to Tysons to pick up the vehicle and surprise the vehicle wasn't there, it was "in transit", so my wife was assured the vehicle was scheduled to arrive on that Tuesday (June 7th), no big deal as their flight out of Chicago back home wasn't until that same day but in the evening timeframe. My wife went through the dealer motions and had our credit ran, completed the finance process, and even left a $500.00 vehicle holding fee. As I write this review on Thursday July 7th, I still don't have my 2016 B5 Blue Charger as promised. Now we're out of the cost of the airline tickets (about $475), Rental car (about $175), and hotel room (about $250), for a total loss of $900 after we get out $500 holding fee returned. The dealership claims they never received the vehicle so we gave them another color way (Tri-white pearl), and they can't get that color way either so they asked if I'd be willing to choose another color? SMH, this dealership is a complete waste of time, and money, [redacted] should not allow such a poor business like this sell their products.

Complaint against Tyson Motor LLC by:

Mr. Phillip [redacted]

[redacted]

[redacted]  60416

Response by Tyson Motor:
On October 7, 2016, Mr. [redacted] brought his 2012 Dodge Charger to Tyson Motor due to a concern of a rust spot between the rear tail light and deck lid on his vehicle.  Digital images of the rust area were taken by Tyson Motor Service Management and submitted to FCA (Fiat Chrysler America) to determine if the rusted area was covered by warranty.  Mr. [redacted] basic warranty of 36 months or 36,000 miles had expired in February 2015.  Mr. [redacted] felt that the rust repair should be cover under “Perforation” Warranty. To be considered perforation under warranty, the metal must have rust-through corrosion sustained during normal use.  Unfortunately, surface rust in not considered perforation.  Surface rust can be caused from various environmental elements such as rocks or stones hitting a vehicle while driving on a roadway.  Salt used on roads during winter is a corrosive agent and can cause surface rust.  FCA determined that Mr. [redacted] Charger had surface rust and was no longer covered under warranty.
After reviewing the complaint, Tyson Motor has intervened and advocated on Mr. [redacted] behalf to FCA.  Mr. [redacted] purchased his Dodge Charger from Tyson Motor and has had his vehicle serviced and maintained with us.  He is a loyal customer, and we will treat him as such.  FCA and Tyson Motor will repair the rust area on the 2012 Dodge Charger.  Mr. [redacted] will need to contact Dan [redacted], Tyson Motor’s Service Director, to arrange a date for the repair.
Tyson Motor appreciates every customer.  We hope that Mr. [redacted] appreciates the level of service we provide to him.
Sincerely,
Anthony H. [redacted]
