US-1 Van Lines of Georgia Reviews (%countItem)

This company is very unprofessional. They will come and quote you a price for doing a job. They will come start job and before job is finished the supervisor will tell foreman to collect payment before finishing. The supervisor tries to get more money out of patron and if he is unsuccessful he will tell the crew to just leave the job without finishing. They will also charge you for certain things that you will not have..,like extra crew that they will not send. The supervisor talks any kind of way to employees , as well as, customers. The supervisor Johnathan is very racist and he gets it from the owner Lisa. If you are black they try to get over on you and they think you are too naive to know what's going on.

We do not have a record of a client by this name nor this email address. We are shocked the person posting this review states racist comments about employees of the company. This is not true. US-1 Van Lines is a company that for over 22 years has always been diversified in its workforce, employing all people and races equally.

We think we know who this person is, with a similar name presented to us as her name. All consumers get the information about their move emailed to them in advance of the move. The person we think this is received three emails in advance of her move listing all details of the moving contract. The local move information will detail the number of movers you are hiring, the hourly rate, the minimum number of hours for labor, the fee for travel time (trip charge) and lists other important details. Those details include the fact that payment is due upon arrival, prior to unloading. The person we think this is had a stand off with her foreman, who incidentally is a black man too, and was refusing to pay for the services prior to unloading, per contract. She and her male relative had negative words with our employees, and even brought the police to the job site. Once the client understood that payment prior to unloading is the normal course of business, she not only paid the crew the move balance, but she stated she also provided the moving crew a generous tip.

In an interview after the move, the client we believe this is informed management that her only issue was caused by her not understanding that payment was due prior to unloading the truck at destination. The person hired a four man crew and received a four man crew. We don't understand her comments about "not send" "extra crew" when four men is the most you can hire in one truck, and that is what she had. She was charged only for the 4 man crew hourly rate and travel time and nothing more. We confirmed the amount she paid, which was over the amount requested. When asked why she paid over the amount requested, she stated the rest was for a tip because the guys did a really good job and it wasn't their fault that she didn't understand the payment terms. We also had another two hours of labor that was not paid for, yet the consumer had her furniture released without asking for those additional holding hours.

Therefore, we very much disagree with the "review" and find this post very offensive.

I would rate this company at 2 stars because our belongings did actually make it to our new home. However, many items were damaged, screws to reassemble furniture went missing, and certain items were not moved to the correct place in our home. Our fridge was damaged and we had a $300 insurance policy. The company completely refuses to acknowledge our claim, despite the fast that we have sent our claim as instructed via certified mail. When their sales person initially came to quote our move he told us to avoid looking at yelp because people weren't fair on that site. I wish I had realized then what a huge red flag that was.

When I first dealt with this moving company they were very friendly and always answered their phone. The pick up day came and no one would answer there phone the movers were 8 hours late and I was charged for items that were not moved. I am in the process of hiring an attorney to sue them for unlawful business practices. I have emailed them several times and called to speak with Lisa and no one will call me back!
