As a small business, we do strive to make sure everyone is happy with our classes/camps.'Our policy is posted in our store, prints on our receipts(see attached), and Is in the fine print on our website. 'Camp/Class policy states all class and camp registrations are non-refundable and ineligible for...

store credit.Camp/class policy is in place because spaces are limited, activities are based on number of participants supplies have to be purchased based on number of participants, and the staff is scheduled based on number of participants.'Our policy that once camp season commences all sign ups are final is consistent with other area kid's camp policies.'We were contacted on Saturday, June 24, 48 hours prior to the start of this particular camp, asked by Mrs. [redacted] to add 2 more children to the camp, which was well past the sign up deadline. The employees on staff called the owner on her vacation and worked through what would have to be done in order to accommodate the additions.'An employee called Mrs. [redacted] and informed her that an exception would be made if she were to pay on additional fee to cover the additional supplies being ordered and shipped over night and advised that is was non-refundable.'Two employees were involved in the 51911 up. One spoke directly with Mrs. [redacted] and look the information manually while the other entered the Information Into our computer system.'Both employees confirmed that Mrs. [redacted] was told that an exception was being made allowing her to sign up so late and that the fees were nonrefundable. The payment given by Mrs. [redacted] was confirmation of agreement to these fees and terms.'Mrs. [redacted] declined the optionss of having the receipt emailed or text to her opting Instead to pick It up on Monday when arriving with her children. A copy of the receipt was saved for Mrs. [redacted] which is attached.* Vendors were contacted and supplies were special ordered to accommodate Mrs. [redacted]'s children's attendance at the camp.*We were contacted on Sunday, June 25, 24 hours prior to the start of this camp, and told Mrs. [redacted] would not be bringing her children because she had made other arrangements for them and wanted a refund.'It was again explained to Mrs. [redacted] that the camp was non-refundable.'The employee advised Mrs. [redacted] to try to bring her children for at least a couple days of camp if her new plans for them would permit it to avoid a total loss for her.'On Thursday, June 29, during the P day of this camp, Mrs. [redacted] called and spoke with the owner and requested a refund.'The owner reiterated that an exception had been made and that the fees were non-refundable explaining that these terms were standard policy for kid camps.'In order to mitigate the situation, the owner offered to transfer the sign ups to one of the 2 remaining summer camps which Mrs. [redacted] declined. It is unfortunate that we were unable to reach a solution that appeased both parties. However, we have to be firm in our policies in order to beconsistent and fair to all patrons of our store, classes, and camps. If we make exceptions case by case, it creates a system that is not based on guidelines but based on preferences.Thank you, Amanda Manager, U Craft Me Up
