Review: The Navitas team at UMass Dartmouth, is a group that brings in students to colleges for different courses. I met with Mr. [redacted] (Marketing Manager India) at an education fare in Bangalore. We discussed my profile and eligibility to apply for the MBA program at UMass, at that time I had a GMAT score of 350, and Mr. [redacted] said that I should try to get a higher score or take the GRE (which is another entrance test) to make a strong application to the college. I took my GRE and submitted a score with all of the other application material to UMass. I was given admissions into the MBA program at UMass through a pre-master program which is a course Navitas has all of the students they bring in, take. During the finals week of my 1st semester, I get told that I need to take my GMAT to be moved to the next semester, otherwise I need to transfer out to another university. Not once before that, did anyone from the Navitas team tell me that I will not be moved onto the next semester without a GMAT score. This whole experience has caused me and my family a lot of stress and financial loss. It has also affected my health. I feel cheated and strongly believe that Navitas should take responsibility for what has happened to me. In order for me to maintain my visa status, I had to incur a cost of $2205 and register for a course with Kaplan International and $250 to take the GMAT exam once again.I have all the e-mail communications with the Navitas team right from the start showing their inefficiency in handling my issue. I am a simple person, who wants nothing but to finish my studies peacefully, get a job and do well in life. I did not sign up for all this. But since this has caused me a lot of distress and financial difficulty, I am considering options to make the Navitas team accountable.Desired Settlement: I would like for Navitas to refund the money I had to pay to resolve this issue. I had to incur a cost of $2205 and register for a course with Kaplan International and $250 to take the GMAT exam once again. This has caused a huge dent in the funds set aside for my studies.
