Review: I bought "Gel nails with tips and gel nail polish" on 3/8/14, however, that is not what I received. I received acrylic nails. Also, halfway through getting my nails done, the woman who runs the nail shop came over to me and explained that it would actually cost me $40, not the $30 they first told me. Then, the guy put clear nail polish on my nails and thanked me, as if he was done doing my nails, so I explained that I wanted three different colors on my nails, and that's why I picked the gel nail polish colors that I picked, and that is why they are sitting on his desk. Then the lady came over to me again and said since I want three colors on my nails that will really be $50. The price kept changing, in the middle of my nails getting done. I am very frustrated because I would have never paid $50 for this kind of service, and I feel scammed because I did NOT get gel nails. These are acrylic nails. I've been getting my nails done for years, and I researched tutorials on what real gel nails look like, and this was not it. I also feel scammed because I was told the price would be $30, and then when my nails were almost complete, I was told the price is actually $50. The service was very bad because the man almost tore my skin off when he filed my nail. I had to almost yell at him and tell him that he was really filing my skin, not my nail. Also, I requested that he put another coat of gel nail polish on my nails because it was see-through, but he refused. It was the end of the day and he was rushing me out of their nail shop so they could go home. I am requesting a full refund of my $50. I would also like free removal of the nails they put on me.Desired Settlement: Refund and removal of nails. This shop has other bad ratings, and I should have looked them up before going, but I did not. It would be morally right for this nail shop to refund me my money. They scammed me. I already complained to the lady who runs the shop, and I asked her for another coat of polish on my nails but she just said my nails look good, and she rushed me out of her shop because it was closing time.

Response:

I receive your letter of complaint from [redacted] regarding her service on 3/8/14. She claims that she was scammed that she did not received the gel powder and gel polish as requested. As the owner and nail technician of 14 years, I can assure you that what she received was in fact gel powder nails and clear gel polish. Whether she wanted color gel polish or clear gel polish was obviously a miscommunication, as she paid and left the shop without saying anything. We do our best to give the best service and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Unfortunately, we recretfully decline [redacted]'s request of a full refund and free removal. However, we will gladly give her a different nail tech to examine her nails and correct the problem.

Note: all prices are posted in clear view in our shop

Full set gel $40&up

Gel polish. Add. $15

Because we do not use a base coat for the gel full set, we only charged an

add. $10.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I felt as though I was being rushed out of their nail shop on the day I got my nails done, and I feel as though there was a HUGE miscommunication on the pricing. I was expecting to pay $30, and then part way through getting my nails done I found out it would be $50. Needless to say, I was upset. I will be going back to this nail shop on 3/15/14 to have a different nail technician examine my nails, as offered by the business.
