I am rejecting this response because:Technician never advised replacing the furnaceFurnace was only years oldTechnician should have checked that heat exchanger first which he never didTechnician did suggest replacing the motor and possibly the motherboardHe did replace the motor but left it to run constantly which was a little cheaper then replacing it with the correct motorThe motherboard was ok. If I had listened to their technician, I would have been gassed to death in this house from the cracked heat exchangerDefinitely would never have another Trane furnace or Ellingson to ever work here againTheir technicians are poorly if at all ever trained
Ellingson’s technician responded to an emergency no-heat service call on Saturday, November 4, Upon initial diagnosis, the technician recommended the homeowner not repair the furnace and suggested a replacementThe homeowner chose to repair the furnace.? The technician completed the
repair restoring heat to the homeThe technician observed the operation of the furnace and did not see any indicators to believe other issues existThe cracked heat exchanger was found after the furnace was removedThe furnace continued to operate for days before the homeowner had it replaced.? A letter of response has been sent to the homeownerThe homeowner was not charged for the repair partsEllingsons cannot resell or return the blower motor and bears the full cost of the itemEllingsons provided a value to the homeowner on a Saturday when others are not availableEllingsons had the parts in stock and restored heat to the home on the same day providing comfort to the occupant(s) and preventing damage to the homeOur recommendation was not to repair the furnaceThe homeowner chose to do so and was billed for 4-1/hours of labor at the weekend rateEllingsons takes the health, safety, and comfort of all customers seriouslyCompany practices have been reviewed and a decision made to purchase additional equipment to help each technician identify conditions not readily visible to the naked eye.? ?
