Uweight Loss contacted me yesterday and informed me that *** would direct deposit my refund into my accountI have received $(partial reimbursement) of my Original*** has not contacted me with any explanation or to discuss
potential of full reimbursement and return of boxes of unused product

U weight loss in Prince Albert went out of buisness. The cooperation states they are not responsible and we still have to pay. I went to U weight loss for help with wieght issues for myself and my 16 year old daughter. [redacted]. It was very expensive but they indicated that they provided finacing. I agreed and signed a contract. In January [redacted] for financial reasons I asked if I could transfer my coaching weeks to my daughter. This was agreed upon as long as I purchased another product from them. Services became bad with it being closed frequently, then in June the doors shut stating they were out of buisness. I received an e-mail from U weight loss cooperation stating they would send me the product and my daughter could receive telephone coaching from Regina. This was not acceptable. I also received a call from "[redacted]" they indicate they provided the financing but are not part of u weight loss so I have to pay them for the products and services I have not received. They also state that U Weight Loss forwarded me an e-mail. Evidently having been in communication with them and that they are a"corperation" and not resposible because U weight loss in Prince Albert is a franchase. However, the product comes from the corporation. At this point I have placed a stop payment on payments for [redacted] but am receiving threatening phone calls. They did indicate that they would forgive the coaching costs as long distance coaching was not an option. But I don't think they realized that my sessions had been transferred to my daughter leaving her with about 4 more months of coaching after it closed. Desired SettlementI have no problem paying for products and services that were recieved. I do not want to pay for products and coaching not recieved. [redacted] Business Response [redacted]U Weight Loss Prince Albert was a franchised location that unfortunately failed and closed their doors. Since the closure, we are aware now that the franchisee near the end was not supplying the entire product up front as required. Additionally, we believe the franchisee was not being entirely candid with her customers and deferring some of her shortcomings on corporate. We have had to clarify this with several other customers.The reality of the situation is the franchisee is 100% responsible to fulfill all purchases at time of sale; and as franchisee would be the beneficiary of all payments made by cash, debit, credit card or 3rd party financing e.g. [redacted].In Ms. [redacted]'s situation [redacted] paid the franchisee owner in full, ([redacted]) for both the October 29, 2013 and February 26, 2014 purchases. ([redacted])Upon learning of the sudden closure, our corporate office reached out to all affected customers and advised that at our own expense we would ensure they would not be abandoned during their wellness journey. To that end we committed to covering any back orders, as well as offering remote coaching via our corporate Regina office. Again this was at corporate's own expense as it was the franchisee that was paid for Ms. [redacted]s purchases, not corporate.Unfortunately we have not been able to effectively communicate that to Ms. [redacted] who still feels corporate U Weight Loss should process a refund on a purchase that we were never paid on. While we cannot process the refund, U Weight Loss Corporate are still willing to ensure her back ordered products are sent to her, and again will do this at our own expense. [redacted]Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)On October 29, 2013 I purchased 25 weeks of services from U Weight Loss for myself and my daughter [redacted]. At the time of purchase I was advised by U Weight Loss that this was a package. We would each receive 25 units of the product and 25 weeks of coaching. [redacted] U weight loss promised up to three meetings with a weight loss coach weekly. The weighed us, measured us, provided motivation, and most importantly did weekly meal plans that included a weekly menu, recipes for everything on the menu, and a grocery list. A service that cannot be provided via telephone. It is the personal contact with the coach that you are paying for. The product without the service has no value. [redacted] As indicated I purchased 50 units of the U loss supplement packs as required to participate in the program. We received 34 units of this product between October 29, 2014 and February 26, 2014 (17 weeks). As indicated an agreement was made with the business to transfer my remaining 8 weeks of coaching to my daughter on condition that I also purchase the Metabolic Booster that I was advised she needed. [redacted] did not start using the Metabolic Booster right away as they were out of stock. [redacted]. [redacted] only received 4 of the 20 units of the Metabolic Booster. There are 16 units outstanding. [redacted] still has 10 units outstanding of the U loss supplement packs. [redacted]Final Business Response September 19, 2014Ms. [redacted],You are correct in your assessment of outstanding products. Revisiting the records under both your name and [redacted], there are 16 units of Metabolic Booster and 10 units of U-loss outstanding.Also we are now aware that [redacted] has taken it upon themselves to refund the entire amount of coaching as per your agreement of October 29, 2013 and have applied it against their balance.Again U Weight Loss corporate was not paid any [redacted] funds for your purchase. [redacted], former owner of Prince Albert U Weight Loss was the recipient of those funds. She is the only person that can process a refund; however as we all know she is out of business. Your complaint is against her.U Weight Loss Corporate, at our own expense, will ensure you receive your outstanding product order noted above and that is the best we can do.Please contact us via our email [redacted]@uweightloss.com to arrange for receipt of product.[redacted]
