I DECIDED TO SIGN UP OVER THIS WEEKEND. I FELT A LITTLE UNEASY BECAUSE YOU NEVER GET TO SPEAK TO AN PERSON.WANTED MY LICENSE, REGISTRATION, AND VEHICLE INSURANCE CARD UPLOADED THROUGH THE PHONE. MY PROBLEM WAS WENT WAS AN APPLICATION GOING TO TAKEN AND THEY WANTED BANKING INFO THOUGH MY PHONE. THEIR MULTIPLE PHONE # ASKING FOR INFO(**SSN**/**SSN**/9802553035)BUT WHEN YOU CALL THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CALL. I DECIDED NOT TO CONITNUE AND I GET MULTIPLE TEXT AND EMAILED. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS

Well all I hear are great things about the Uber taxi like service. So I jumped on the bandwagon...but read till the end to see what happened to me the other night by a driver who canceled my ride.
Honestly, the last four or so months I've had no problems or complaints with Uber services...
I do hope a tipping option for (good customer service) drivers should be offered; especially if we felt we had a great experience but we did not have the cash on hand to tip upfront.
Also those surge price moments when we cant afford the rate (on a bad work week etc.) because there aren't enough drivers on the road...is rough for those who can't always afford it. Leaves us stranded.
We understand that Uber is giving us a heads up for better services, but most of us would end up walking.
There should be a way to make it clear of what the price for destination will be at those surge hours. Like what is the rate we pay per mile? It would help us see if we can afford to pay extra for the ride at that very moment.
Anyways straight to it...I was charged for a ride I didn't take. My driver called me to let me know thay he wasn't going to pick me up because I was too far away from his location.
Was it the Uber app that screwed up or my phone?
I do not know but apparently I had a ride that night which I did not; I walked and was charged an hour and a half later.
Although it's still processing I don't want to file a case for something that was a small mistake on Ubers part and should considered a safety issue.
From my understanding the Uber app read my driver 4min away from my location...he calls me and says he is canceling...I was wondering if the app or gps on my phone wasn't able to accurately find my location.
Anyways I have the drivers ID and phone saved...called him and asked why I was just charged and he had mentioned that he didn't charge me and that he had canceled the ride. Also he couldn't help me and Uber seems hard to get in touch with...this is why I'm here.
All I'm saying...this never happened before and I've canceled a few rides in the past because I had to, with no charges...
Why this is a possibility without even being serviced feels unsafe...I do not want to regret giving a "good business" my credit card information if they can't see issues like these before they happen. It's robbery and feels unfair.

An uber car service drove me from south jersey to philadelphia and back,stopping at a philadelphia restaurant. I was not informed the meter would be running and a trip should have costed me $50-70 ended up costing $195. The uber rep I was emailing to resolve this issue was rude and unhelpful. I am switching to lyft.
