UFC Gym - Mililani Reviews (%countItem)

The gym allowed my boyfriend to make changes to my account without my consent. I use my own credit card to pay for my membership, but they allowed him to downgrade my membership. I just paid my membership 2 weeks before for $80, but they charged me for the downgraded membership of an additional $40. My $80 membership still had 2 weeks until the next billing date, and I did not authorize any charges. They refused to refund the charge and I was spoken to rudely my multiple people. I canceled my membership, but had to open a claim with my bank because of this. They took my money without my consent and refused to fix it.

A refund for the $40.76 has been submitted for processing back to Ms..

Several attempts to terminate membership at UFC GYM MILILANI have resulted in no action. Myself and my spouse have both attempted several times to terminate the membership, but the employees insist we instead talk to them at their office. After threatening legal action against them for refusing to let us go and refusing to nullify our payment plan, we had to freeze our credit account to prevent them from taking any more. They occasionally (once/twice a week) still try to draw from my account, and have also hired a collection agency to contact us as well. I believe that this is fraudulent activity and the next step is to hire a lawyer to fight them in court.

Aloha ***,

My name is Leato and I was the last person to handle your accounts. My last conversations with your wife *** were pleasant and we made adjustments to help bring your account current to process a proper cancellation.

According to our Company's Cancellation Policy and the agreement you signed Section 2.6, you must mail in a certified letter 21 days prior to the date your payment is due. You also have the option of coming into the gym and filling out the cancellation form in person, again 21 days prior to your payment being due. Please see attached agreements.

We agreed to process your cancellation after I listened to *** tell me about the hardships you folks are having. The management team tried our best to help bring your accounts current before it went to our 3rd Party Collections.

If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to reach out.

Mahalo,

Leato *. S, DMC

I canceled my gym membership verbally in person and over text. They said they’d cancel and send me an email of the cancellation. In which had never happened. I was being charged unjustly and I made the complaint with usaa to block further withdrawals from them. They the filed a claim with collections forcing me to pay a minimum extra amount. Due to them never giving me anything to sign for canceling. I am being forced to pay collections. I called them to try and resolve my issues. No one would lead to the person I was inquiring to talk to. We are Military family so we do move often. I was harassed by a coach via text message and had to block the number. I handled everything how I was supposed to, but I feel like targeted due to skin tone, and being Military family. I was told by the at collections that this gym. Does this to many people and I believe I’m the first to say something.

On initial membership sign up, I paid for first and last month membership. I cancelled on july23. I paid for July already. They are saying they will be keeping my last month fee and will also be charging me on August another monthly fee. No where in the contract that I have says they will charge another month

(APRIL 2018)I recently just became a member of Mililani UFC gym for personal training. I was happy and excited to workout and train. The membership guy (Kyle) and my personal trainer (Stephanie) never explained the pay sessions to me. Throughout time, every time I ask questions they just had me going back and forth between the 2 of them. My personal trainer explained that we meet up 2 times a week (1 hour per session) but she cut it down to 1 time a week. Also, it wasn't a full 60 minutes session, she would cut our sessions 10 minutes early every single time. Then I had financial problems that I couldn't pay for the personal training monthly. So I went to the Fitness Director (Gi)and I was talking to Ricky about canceling my personal training. They were giving me such a hard time and told me that they couldn't do anything. The fitness director was asking me too much personal questions about my situation which crossed the line. When I tried to focus the conversation about my personal training, they couldn't say anything. So I walked away to stop arguing with them. Couple months passed with the personal training, then I hurt my knee. I couldn't walk on my leg some times after a workout. I read in the agreement that if I get a note or confirmation from my doctor that I can no longer be a member of UFC and to rest my knee, then I am able to get my refund on the following sessions that I never did yet. I went into UFC to try to cancel before they charge my monthly that weekend again. They told me that I had to wait until the next week for the fitness director to come back in. During the conversation with Kyle, Ricky was eyeing me out (staring at me) with a smirk on his face, I just ignored him. So I showed the doctors note stating that I've been experiencing reaccuring pain in the my knee and I need to rest it. Also stated that I need to withdraw from UFC, and required to wear a knee brace with hinges. The next week, I showed the doctors note to the same fitness director (Gi) and the membership guy (Kyle). The fitness director told me again that he can't give back my refund and that he can't cancel my personal training. He was also constantly trying to get me to do their physical therapy at UFC gym plus pay for it when I already explained that I may have to do physical therapy at my doctors. I repeatedly told him that my only interest is to cancel my personal training and membership. He told me that I only have 2 more monthly payments for my sessions left. The only thing that he can do was to waive the last two payments and freeze the sessions that they just charged me for until I come back. I explained to him again that it wasn't my interest and the pain in my knee is getting worse, there may be a chance that I won't be able to come back. I also explained that in the agreement form it says that if I have a doctors note about my injury and stating that I can't be a member any more then I am able to cancel and get my refund on what's left. The argument wasn't getting any where. His behavior wasn't professional and he wasn't going by what was said in the agreement. He told me that he is not able to cancel and give me my refund because my injury is not a TRAUMA injury to the point where I can't walk for the rest of my life. My sister who was with me at the time was getting mad as well. I told him that I will be back the next day because I wasn't going to aruge with him AGAIN. I went back couple days ago, I ended up just taking his offer because I did'nt want to argue anymore, no one was helping me out. Plus, I had more important things that I needed to handle in my life. Today, I went to put gas in my car at the Mililani Town Center gas station. I wasn't wearing knee brace today because after wearing it throughout the day my whole leg gets more painful. I wanted to let the blood flow in my leg. When I was walking inside the gas station, I was limping because my knee was still in pain. I saw Ricky and he was staring at me again for a long time. I got creeped out because it was like he was watching me. It wasn't a pleasant look, like he was judging my knee. I tried to be nice with all the members of UFC, even to the employees that gave me a hard time. I understand that it is a business they're running. Ricky's behavior was really UNPROFESSIONAL, he crossed the line by eyeing me out (staring at me) watching me inside the gym and outside the gym. That is already harassment and a threat. He would also question my sister about me,about my personal life. It just made me more upset, even after I already had a bad experience with them and that I couldn't cancel and get my refund. My aunty also had the same problem with them, they were over charging her and wouldn't give refund and cancel her membership. I've also read other reviews with the same problem about the managers and employees humiliating and harassing the gym members. The fitness directors and fitness membership guys would yell at them as well. They also never got their money back.

(JUNE 2018) my account is still on freeze and UFC charged me again for the maintenance. I didn’t understand because I was told that my card won’t be charged at all. Also, I wasn’t going to the gym due to the fact that my ufc account is frozen and my knee had gotten worse. Why would UFC charge me for the maintanence of the gym when I’m not using it. I was really upset. And I’m still upset. My knee injury is still a problem till this day. They never gave back my refund. When I put my account on freeze, I was told by the fitness director that he will waive my last 2 payments, but when I looked at the form they gave me for freezing my account, it says that they set a date when they’re going to charge me again for my last 2 payments. This UFC in Oahu, HI (Mililani) is ripping people off. They’re charging people card when they say that they’re not going to. Also, they won’t give back the money. So far, they took almost $500 out of my account since the day I tried to cancel because of my injury. That money was supposed to go to my college tuition. But they refused to refund me.

My friend and I signed up at the same time. We were told lies and had important information withheld from us (21 day cancellation period), and dealt with other issues. The lies told: 'Absolutely nothing would be charged onto my card unless we exceeded the 90-day payment extension, if I were to be charged, I would be notified. If something came up where we couldn’t make it to the gym for the month, we didn’t have to pay and could start up again the following month. My friend was told that she paid for all her August fees.' My card was on file for both accounts and was charged for both of our August payments without notice. At the time I didn't know what the charges were for, but knew it was from UFC. We went to UFC to figure it out. After talking with a member specialist, we only could find one payment charged to my card. All three of us looked and couldn't find the second payment. We looked at both my account and my friend's account multiple times and found nothing. My mom and I go two days later to talk to the operations manager. We looked at the accounts multiple times and searched my card through the system and find nothing. I was told that since the missing payment didn't show up in the system, I couldn't get refunded the money. All of a sudden right before I leave, the payment magically popped up on my friend's account as her August payment. The next day my friend goes and asked about the payment found on her account and was told by staff that the payment just popped up and they had no idea where it came from That sounded shady. So my friend and I decided to cancel our memberships. We were not told about the 21 day cancellation period so we had to pay an extra month to cancel. We talked to other members and they ALL were NOT aware of the 21 day cancellation period. I emailed the manager for UFC Mililani, thought I solved everything and got refunded everything, but didn't get an email back. Instead of email, I got a message on YELP that left me with more questions. The problem is not solved.
