Ugly Dog Events Reviews (11)

Review: I registered for the Colorsmacked! run in Burlington VT on May 18, 2013 through Ugly Dog Events and paid $42.80 to participate. I registered through www.iamathlete.com. A few weeks before the event, Ugly Dog Events cancelled it. I contacted them for a refund of my money (because at first they offered coupon codes for the price paid, but I am not planning to attend another event) and they said that if I wanted a refund of my money I needed to send a written request to their offices. I sent this request on Thursday July 11 after sending them a few other internet-based requests for a refund, and have yet to hear any response. I have still not received the refund. Attempts to call their listed phone number results in a message stating that service is unavailable.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the full amount paid to participate in the cancelled event-- $42.80.

Review: I signed up for a Colorsmacked 5K run. I paid for myself, My sister in law and a friend. It was $150. Colorsmacked told us a week before the race that they would not be coming to Vermont. We requested that we get our money refunded to the debit card I used to pay or in a check form because they also notified us that they would not offer another race in Vermont. I was told via email that if I sent a letter requesting the refund with my proof of payment that I would receive a refund for the $150. Color smacked deleted their facebook page and stopped responding to my emails. I also have not been able to contact them via phone. I have sent at least 3 emails with out a response now. This started in May and I feel like I have been scammed and am scared that I will not get my money back.Desired Settlement: I would like my $150 sent to me as soon as possible. It is a lot of money to lose to a scam

Review: Hello, I was registered for the Muddy Mama's 5k race to be held on May 18, 2013, in Spokane, WA. This event was canceled by the vendor Ugly Dog Events, LLC and a refund email was sent to registered consumers. On May 7, 2013, I mailed my refund information including a copy of my receipt (total $80. 25 and who I purchased through, ImAthlete). I have yet to receive my refund from Ugly Dog Events, LLC. On May 28, 2013, I sent a follow-up email to [redacted] at Ugly Dog Events. I still have not heard back from Ugly Dog Events or received my refund check. I am located in Chewelah, WA north of Spokane. Please help me rectify this problem. Sincerely, [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $80.25; the amount I paid for the race $75.00, team race insurance $10.00, and service charge for the site IMATHLETE of $5.25, totaling $80.25. If you will not refund the service charge I will accept a refund amount of $75.00. Thank you, [redacted]

Review: We signed up for the Colorsmacked 5k at the [redacted] for My 18, 2013. The company Ugly Dog Events cancelled the event and informed us that if we wrote a letter to them asking for a refund that they would return our money. We sent that letter along with print outs of our registration receipts as per their request on May 12, 2013 and they still have not refunded us the money. We have called them twice and they don't pick up the phone and won't call us back. We paid $53.50 each for the run (which included all the fees for using the fair grounds and we would like a full refund of $107.00 that our family paid out. There were hundreds of other people who paid for this run as well. This company cancelled the event and store our money.Desired Settlement: We just want our money back, but we also think that Colorsmacked should have a lower grade than an A- on your rating scale.

Review: Ugly Dog Events, LLC was due to host the ' Colorsmacked' 5k event in Burlington, VT on 5/18/2013.

The event fee was advertised as $45.00 , plus an additional (insurance fee) of $5.00 and as advertised " A portion of the proceeds of this event will benefit Autism Awareness."

The event was cancelled and I was notified I could receive a refund by printing out my event registration and sending it in to Ugly Dog Events, LCC along with a written and signed letter requesting refund and bank account information.

I then received a separate email from Ugly Dog Events, LLC stating that they had issues and were behind in processing requests. They stated that they had family issues and were being harassed and bullied or something of that nature... basically they wanted people to feel bad for them. SCAM!

Several failed attempts to reach out to the company and almost two years later, I have heard nothing and received no refund. Many of my friends had also signed up and nobody has heard anything. The contact information is out of date and seems suspicious.

I would like a refund, but most importantly I want these people to be held accountable for their actions!

They scammed hundreds of people on this one event alone, I can only imagine if they are doing this across the country how many people they have stolen from

Review: Ugly Dog Events scheduled a 5K run in Vermont on May 18th for which they decided to cancel for lack of enough registrants less than 2 weeks before the race. The cost to register was $50.00 plus associated fees. Ugly Dog Events decided not to give a refund, but to offer a credit to other races, even though they said they would not run an event in Vermont. Upon receiving several complaints an email was sent out from Ugly Dog Events claiming that they would, indeed, refund the cost to each registrant. I have emailed Ugly Dog Events four times since the cancellation and have received only one email response. They claimed that they were working on the refunds of all race registrants. I requested a time frame and said that if I didn't hear from them I would report the situation to the Revdex.com. It has been 6 weeks now and still no refund nor any follow up communication. I find this unacceptable and illegal.Desired Settlement: I would like the requested/promised refund of $58.85 - the cost to me for the cancelled race. I have all of the email documentation and have submitted supporting documentation to Ugly Dog Events with no recourse or even communication follow up.

Review: I paid to run in the muddy momma 5k in Denver, CO. with ugly dog events. Out of nowhere I received an email saying that my registration was canceled and if this was in error to email them back. I emailed immediately and I received nothing back. I emailed and called over 15 times and never got anyone to answer as to why I was canceled. I kept all the emails that I sent to them and I never got anyone to respond to ANY one of my emails. I still dont know why I was canceled. They never even answered the phone number on the web site. If that wasnt bad enough I never received any of my money back either. I got a coupon code that expired the day of the race I was suppose to run in. I was turned away the day of the race even though they took my money and I had the receipt to prove it!Desired Settlement: I would like my money back as well as an explanation as to why I was canceled in the first place.

Review: Ugly Dog Events was holding and event in Burlington, VT and was collecting fees for the event (Colorsmacked 5K Run) on 5/18/2013. They sent an email stating that they were unable to host the event due to low participation, I Mailed them a letter on May 10, 2013 requesting a refund of my money in the amount of $53.50, I never got a response back or got my money. They failed to hold the event and refuse to return the money I had paid to attend.Desired Settlement: I would like the $53.50 entry fee refunded to me.

Review: I had signed up with two other people to run the 5k that Ugly Dog was hosting. A few weeks before the scheduled event they canceled it. They had originally said that we would get a credit for the amount of money that we had spent signing up, that could be used at a future event in our area. They later said that they would not be doing any future events in our area because so many people were upset about the first event being cancelled. We then contacted the person in charge and had to ask about how we can get a refund, which took longer than it should have for him to give us that information. We followed the steps that he gave us and after a month we still had not received a refund. After many failed attempts at contacting him, and countless excuses on his end we still have not gotten a refund for the $150 that the three of us paid. The nature of how things were handled are extremely unprofessional and unacceptable.Desired Settlement: Ugly Dog needs to own up to their mistakes and issue us the refund that we deserve. It is in no way the consumers fault that there was lack of advertising and planning for this event. We should not be punished for the fact that [redacted] is a poor businessman. One of my friends has been the one in contact with Ugly dog since the beginning because she used her credit card to register all of us. Her name is Desiree Mora and she has already contacted you. This morning she received an email from [redacted] (the owner of Ugly Dog) saying that he would not be issuing anymore refunds until late September because of "personal family matters" this is unacceptable. We would like to have this resolved immediately.

Review: Colorsmacked was a 5k race that was suppose to take place in Burlington Vermont. My team of "6" people registered for this race on imATHLETE for a total of $53.50 per person. 2 weeks before the race we received an email stating the race had been cancelled due to not enough people signing up for the race. We were told we would not get a refund but would get a credit for "$45" less than we paid. I wrote an email to the person in charge of the race for a full refund and not a credit. I got an email back saying nothing they can do only a credit. I stated I was going to get in touch with the Revdex.com or media that this is wrong. I then receive this email that was also sent to others : You know what I've had just about enough of this crap... I'm a father of six with a mentally handicapped child .... I was doing this to help him and others out there like him ... How dare you threaten me! You don't know a thing about me or this industry ... I'm the one that's lost thousands as a reward for trying to do good... How could I have known that there would be something like boston that would happen....You can call the Revdex.com , the paper... Call the freakin pope for all I care... My heart was in the right place and I can sleep at night... Thanks to people like you I'm done trying to be a help to the community ... I had no idea there were such awful people in this world...hope you never experience what I have for trying to make a difference in the world... You will get your refund and I hope it will buy you a soul! I still have not got a refund or any other information. We were told to mail a copy of our confirmation with the total amount we paind to them and we would get a refund. It has been well over a month and I still not not have it.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my full refund from this race. I did not cancel the event or not show up. I feel this was out of hundreds of peoples hands and we deseve a total refund.

Review: On April 7, 2013 I purchased a ticket to participate in the "Color-Smacked" 5K, Burlington, Vermont; through Ugly Dog Events. The date of the event was scheduled for May 18, 2013.

I paid $45.00 + $5.00 insurance for participating + $3.50 service fee totalling $53.50. On May 4. 2013 the event was cancelled and I was told that I would be receiving my refund soon. We had a team of people that were participating and a few of them recveived their refund but I did not. I have been in contact via email every so often to check on my refund and have yet to recieve it. This company has been promising they would send me my refund and have yet to do so! I have the emails dating back to May 4, 2013 where Ugly Dog Events have been promising that it would be taken care of "soon". It is now September and I would really appreciate my refund. I'm not asking for anything extra for all the time I have spent on this, I just want my money back for the event that I paid for but did not take place. I believe I have been MORE than patient waiting for my refund.
