Review: We had contracted Ultimare in Pool Care (Chaikin Pools) in 2011 build and install a paver patio. The pavers were incorrectly installed (backfilled improperly) and as a result various parts of the patio have been settling for the last 3 years. We have been in contact with Ultimate in Pool Care and they have come twice, once in 2012 and once in 2013. The patio is still settling and we have contacted them 3 times this year and we have been ignored.Desired Settlement: Resolution of this matter can be in the form of a full refund for the cost of the repair or correct the problem.

[redacted] has been dealing with family health issues this entire season. He has been traveling back and forth to Pennsylvania almost daily. It seems as though the [redacted] have only attempted to contact [redacted] directly on his cell phone and have not actually contacted our office. [redacted] admits to receiving some calls and feels terribly that he has not yet reached out to the [redacted] to discuss their issues. We have never agreed with the premise that the patio is installed incorrectly, as a matter of fact we vehemently deny that allegation, yet we have re-set the pavers that have settled a few times over the past couple of years. We feel that there are perhaps other issues at play here, eg...a leaking sprinkler line or auto fill, a pool leak, some other as of yet undetermined issue. It is our intent to have [redacted] contact the [redacted] this week and suggest a course of action that will help to determine the actual cause of the settling. Once these theories have been tested we will one more time reset the settled pavers at no charge to the [redacted] assuming no specific cause can be determined by the testing.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

We regret to hear of [redacted]'s family issues, however he is an executive of the company and could have referred this issue to the office at any time. We chose to contact [redacted] since he is the only one we have been dealing with regarding this issue. With regard to the leak theory we disagree with that assessment for a number of reasons: (1) The subcontractor, [redacted], of [redacted] has said on multiple occasions that the patio was backfilled incorrectly which was why the patio was settling. 2. We do not believe that there are any leaks because the patio is settling in multiple areas of the patio. There are no sprinkler lines under that patio and there are part of that patio that are settling located nowhere near the pool. We also have not experienced any drops in water level in the pool nor has the auto fill valve been working excessively hence we do not believe there is a leak in the pool. We feel that resetting the pavers will not solve this problem as this has been going on since the patio was installed which is going on three years. As of August **,2014, we have not heard from anyone in the Company as stated in their response. We welcome the company to investigate this issue to determine the cause.

[redacted] has been in contact with [redacted]. He is met with him and we are coming to an understanding on how we will resolve the issue on hand.

One of the worst companies that I have every dealt with. Very dishonest. Try to rip you off at every turn.

Review: In September 2012 we purchased a Loop Loc mesh pool cover from Ultimate In Pool Care ("Ultimate") for $2,820.

When we opened our pool in April 2013 there were 6 dime size holes in random places. We brought this to Ultimate's attention and he said that is normal wear and tear.

We said, "after 7 months it is expected to have holes in it, WHAT???"

He blamed the harsh winter, we barely had snow.

He blamed Sandy. We had no water, wind or tree damage.

He made every excuse about why the tears were there. None of them made sense.

This is the cover where they advertise an elephant standing on it. Ultimate took our cover to assess the damage.

We received a call from Ultimate stating it would cost us a $1,000 to repair the cover.

When we purchased the cover we were told there was a lifetime warranty. Now Ultimate told us these type of tears were not covered.

HE NEVER INFORMED US OF THIS WHEN WE PURCHASED THE COVER.

The owner of Ultimate was rude to my wife, did not come to the phone and his overall customer service was poor.

He was not willing to fix the cover and stand by the product unless we paid him another $1,000.

We contacted Loop Loc corporation in Happauge who Ultimate purchased the cover from.

Loop Loc offered to repair the panels for $427. We had Loop Loc corporation fix the pool cover.

When we picked the repaired cover up from Loop Loc the springs that are used to anchor the pool were not attached.

Loop Loc had on their documentation that Ultimate kept the springs when they sent the cover to Loop Loc for evaluation of repairs.

We had to call Ultimate 3 or 4 times before they would address the missing springs. The only way they produced the springs was when we threatened to sue them in small claims court.

Ultimate literally dropped the springs at our house today and refused to reattach the springs to the pool cover.

Ultimate said it was not their problem. There are 30 springs to reattach and there is a skill to attaching them.

The company we used to winterize our pool said it would take 2 hours to attach these springs and cost us approximately $300 in labor.

If we have to go this way we will also be suing Ultimate in small claims court for the labor cost, the cover repair and pain/suffering for all of the aggravation they have put us through.Desired Settlement: All we want is for Ultimate to come to our house and attach the 30 springs to the repaired Loop Loc cover.

I did not see their reply but a Ultimate sent their employees to my house today and installed the springs/cover in 20 minutes.
