I want to be clear that I do believe that the doctors at UNC Fertility are capable and sincere. However, the rest of the staff are awful, and I'm fairly certain that what they are doing is criminal.

First the awful. We live an hour and a half away from UNC Fertility. We have had situations where we were scheduled for an appointment that had to be at a certain point in my wife's cycle only to arrive at the appointment and be told that they made a scheduling mistake and scheduled the appointment for the wrong time in her cycle. As if it wasn't bad enough that she had to take off work for the appointment, we were still billed for the appointment that we couldn't use even though it was their scheduling error. Additionally, when tests were done, we were told that we would be called with the results. However, after over a month of leaving voicemail messages and hounding them to get the results, the only way we were finally able to get them is to e-mail the doctor directly (again, he was very nice and apologetic about the incident, but there was nothing that he could do about it).

Now for the criminal. We were billed $5,514.00 for a frozen embryo transfer. This was nearly twice as much as we paid at ECU physicians before they shut down their lab and we had our remaining embryos sent to UNC Fertility. Still, I paid it because I assumed the cost was higher because it was in the triangle area. The transfer was unsuccessful, and those were our last frozen embryos, so we began saving up for the next full IVF cycle. After 14 months of saving, I began to check around with other fertility clinics in NC to compare prices. In this process, I found that other clinics only charge around $2,600 for a frozen embryo transfer. I attempted to contact UNC Fertility for nearly three weeks before they would speak to me. In that time, I received a check in the mail for $70 with no explanation. I persisted, and when I was finally connected to someone in the finance office, I was told that the $70 was a refund for a semen analysis that had been completed 9 months earlier that my insurance covered and that I was charged for in error. They told me that they assumed that is why I was calling, but before I could even bring up my concerns about the frozen embryo transfer, they told me that they also realized that I was overbilled for it as well, and would be issuing me and refund for $2,501. That is a good thing and I am grateful that I did not have to fight them on this, but this was 14 months later. What would have happened if I had never asked them about it at all? How many others have never questioned the amount they were being charged?

After reading other reviews of UNC Fertility on [redacted] and [redacted] and finding out that our experience is not unique, I am even more concerned about the business practices of this office. How many people have been tricked into paying thousands of dollars more than they were supposed to? These are people, like us, who are trying desperately to save every penny to start a family through medical procedures that are not covered by insurance. I may be over sympathetic to this since we are in that position ourselves, but it just seems like a vulnerable group to be conning out of their money.

I would strongly encourage anyone looking for fertility treatment to consider another office.

Failure to correct name in billing and claims to insurance companiesAfter having my daughter at UNC Hospitals back in Sept 2009, her follow-up well baby checks were performed at UNC Family Practice. Under my insurance through the [redacted] plan and [redacted] all of these visits should have been completely covered. [redacted] would pick up their portion and then [redacted] would cover the remaining bill. However, UNC P&A filled all claims with me as the child and my daughter as the wife. Therefore, no claims on the dates of 9/8/09 (acct XXXXXXXXXX [redacted] XXXXXXX $109) , 9/18/09 (acct XXXXXXXXXX [redacted] XXXXXXX $109), 10/2/09 (acct XXXXXXXXXX [redacted] XXXXXXX $109), 10/29/09 (acct XXXXXXXXXX [redacted] XXXXXXX $31), 1/7/10 (acct XXXXXXXXXX [redacted] XXXXXXX $717), 2/22/10 (acct XXXXXXXXXX [redacted] XXXXXXX $462), 1/15/10 (acct XXXXXXXXXX [redacted] XXXXXXX $109), 4/21/10 (acct XXXXXXXXXX [redacted] XXXXXXX $114), and 1/7/10 (acct XXXXXXXXXX CBR XXXXXXX $566) all totaling $1469 were processed incorrectly. I received numerous bills and disputed each of them on the phone with UNC P&A trying to get the corrections made. At one point I spent over 2 hours on the phone with a representative at UNC P&A while she claimed to have changed each of these. Apparently this was not done. I now reside abroad, as my husband is in the [redacted] and have recently learned all of these were sent to collections. I am very angry that I have spent so much time already in the past trying to get these bills corrected and told everything was taken care of. Now I find that they are not and are in collections.Desired SettlementI wish to have these claims written off my account and removed from collections as it was a failure on UNC P&A's to correct inaccuracies on the bills and claims even after being pointed out repeatedly.Business Response 12/09/2013 The Revdex.com5540 Munford Road, Suite 130Raleigh, NC XXXXXRE: Complaint # XXXXXXXX Thank you for contacting UNC Health Care and allowing us the opportunity to respond. I had an upper GI at UNC Hospital in 2010. the next day my nose erupted with a massive infection (the oxygen device they stuck up my nose irritated or cut me. I called the support line and spoke with the nurse who said it was impossible. so I went to an ENT who told me I had a massive staff infection. 60 days on antiobitoics did not solve it. numerous contacts with UNC I got total disregard for my problem and total denial from the DR who did the upper GI. it is now SIX YEARS LATER and even after sinus surgery to remove the infection IT IS NOT GONE. it is too late for me to sue, but not too late for OTHERS TO PROTECT THEMSELVES. I have to now see an infectious disease control specialist. I have spent thousands of dollars and been on medicines for 6 YEARS. I even ended up with tendon damage requring surgery from one of the antibiotics. I am awaiting two surgeries for other issues which are on hold because of this - It is unacceptable that I got sick in their hospital, but even worse that they have not helped me. ","neg-2

On 1-4-2016 I had a routine physical colonoscopy. Prior to the colonoscopy I went through all the procedures to make sure the process was covered (referral from PCP, checked with [redacted] to make sure all was "in plan"(talked to [redacted] on Dec.14th) and a covered procedure, made sure my Dr. at [redacted] had all the right paperwork and knew that this was for "preventative care". I even talked to [redacted] the office manager to all try and make sure that I was not billed for the service (which was verified).Around 1-29-16 I receive a bill from UNC Health Care (aka-UNC Physicians [redacted] for $1,092.00 as a charge from the Colonoscopy. The bill showed that I owed this and that [redacted] didn't cover it (even though I talked directly to [redacted] prior to the procedure and they said it would be covered). On 2-3-16 I called [redacted] again, after an hour and 1/2 hold I finally talked to CSR [redacted]. According to [redacted] (in the [redacted] office) the reason the claim wasn't paid was because the Dr.office coded wrong (two codes, one preventative and the other "Diagnostic" when it should both be "preventative").On 2-8-16 I talked to the Dr. and he stated that the procedure was indeed "preventative and part of a physical". I then talked to his office manager [redacted] who agreed to call UNC Health Care to get the error corrected. On 2-18 CSR [redacted] at UNC Health Care stated [redacted] did call them but CSR had done nothing at all with bill to resolve. On 2-24-16 finally reached [redacted] who stated that she called on 2-8 but nothing done so she called UNC Health Care again and spoke to supervisor [redacted]. On 3-7-16 I called UNC HC and CSR [redacted] stated that records show that [redacted] had still done nothing to fix claim. I asked to speak to supervisor and she transferred me to supervisor [redacted] voice mail. After Multiple messages left over several days I have still not had a return call from this supervisor. After hours of calls no resolutionProduct_Or_Service: Preventative ColonoscopyAccount_Number: [redacted]Desired SettlementI want UNC Health Care to file their bill properly with my health Insurance. To correct the 2 codes to "preventative" (currently listed as Preventative and Diagnostic)as requested by the Dr.s' business manager [redacted] so my insurance will properly cover it. Further to place my billing on hold while this re-processing is completed. so my insurance will properly cover it.Business Response March 11, 2016To whom it may concern:UNC Hospitals will respond directly to the complainant in regards to case # [redacted]. Complaint[redacted] Healthcare billed 2 Primary Care visits incorrectly as Specialist Care visits.I visited my Primary Care Provider, [redacted] Sample at [redacted], on 10/13/2014 at 4:15 PM and on 10/27/2014 at 2:00 PM. For both visits, I made an appointment for a Primary Care visit, and both times I was charged $25 for a PCP copay. [redacted] Healthcare later billed me an additional $30 ($15 per visit) claiming that my visit was for a Specialist. My [redacted] Health Insurance rep also confirmed the visits were billed incorrectly by UNC Healthcare. I contacted UNC, and they agreed it was billed incorrectly and removed the charge. They are now billing me again for the same charges, even though I was assured the charges would be permanently removed and would not reappear. This is the 3rd time the charges have reappeared after being removed by UNC Healthcare.Desired SettlementI would like the balance due of $30 to be removed from my account, and I would like a message in writing that states they will not reappear. Previous verbal assurances have not been honored, so I really would like something in writing this time. Business Response July 22, 2016To whom it may concern:Complaint Case # XXXXXXXX will be resolved with the consumer directly.Sincerely,[redacted] SquirePatient Relations[redacted] HospitalsConsumer Response Every time UNC removes this charge, it pops back up at a later date. I'm convinced it will happen again, just as it has the past 3 times It's been removed.

The customer service was very short and rude to me this morning.I was discussing my bill with him.I called and told the representative when and how much a month I was going to get my bill paid off. I have already made a payment in April, May, had to skip June didn't have the money, also made a payment the first of this month. I now owe $47.36. I told the guy, [redacted] is his name that I was going to pay half the first of next month and the rest the first of August. I don't think I have talked to a person like that since before my father died. He was short and rude and the customer service representatives should be courteous to ALL PEOPLEDesired SettlementTo have a talk with customer service and tell them to be more thoughtful to people who are calling trying to resolve their bill and for anything else for that matter. I was very insulted!Business Response August 10, 2015To whom it may concern:UNC Hospitals will respond directly to the complainant for case [redacted] Should you have further concerns, please call us at ([redacted]) [redacted].Sincerely,[redacted]Patient RelationsUNC HospitalsConsumer Response UNC contacted me by phone and said they would talk with the person who I had talked with about my bill. They also told me next time to ask to speak to a supervisor instead of contacting Revdex.com to complain about that person. They said that unless someone brings it to their attention they don't know about these matters. They said they do not want people like that talking to their customers in that fashion. So I said if there is a next time I would talk with the supervisor. Thank you Revdex.com for helping me out with this issue.Final Consumer Response

Billing pt in error, [redacted] is tertiary coverage, [redacted] confirms numerous times never received the bill for DOS 7/14/14 for my son, [redacted].For the first time, we received a balance bill from UNC Health Care for services rendered on 7/14/2014 to my son, [redacted], dob 6/4/2001, in the amount of $57.15. At the time of service, my son had primary coverage per court order with [redacted], secondary with [redacted], and tertiary coverage with [redacted]. Primary and secondary were filed and processed; however, [redacted] has confirmed numerous times that they have yet to receive this bill from UNC. I confirmed this information through [redacted] website. I have called UNC numerous times regarding this billing under guarantor number [redacted]. I spoke to [redacted] on 7/10/2015 who assured me that she would have the situation resolved for me. This bill also listed dos 1/12/15 for my son, [redacted], which I am 50% responsible per court order. I enclosed check [redacted] in the amount of $118.71 for the January, 2015, services on August 27, 2015 along with a letter describing the above information/issue again. I have not received any further communication from UNC on the subject. However, my ex-spouse states in a letter to me that he contacted UNC and received a different balance due amount. Today, October 9, 2015, I called UNC Health Care again at [redacted] and spoke to[redacted]. She advised me that I paid off the July, 2014 with check number [redacted] for $57.15. I quickly corrected[redacted] with the above issue information and told her that my check [redacted] was actually written in the amount of $118.71 (50% of the Jan,2015 services per court order) and that UNC simply misposted it to the oldest date verses working the charges as previously advised. She placed me on hold for awhile. She returned to assure me that the $57.15 portion of my check [redacted] has now been moved to the correct date of service, January 12, 2015. I asked her if the 7/14/2014 balance has now been written off. She said she was confused as to why it should be written off. I re-explained the above information to her and further advised her that it is now past the filing limits for [redacted] which meant the charges are not the patient responsibility. She did not follow me at all. I advised her that this has gone on long enough and that I would be filing a complaint to the NC Insurance Commissioner as well as the Revdex.com. I have been a medical coder and insurance specialist for almost 25 years. This billing is unacceptable as well as the misposting of my personal check to simply zero out an old balance. Desired SettlementA copy of all insurance carriers is supplied at check in at every visit. I advise them the order of the coverages along with the corresponding names of the employee and dates of birth. Upon check in, this information is always jumbled in the wrong order. Due to no fault of my own, the timely filing limit has now expired to file the July, 2014, claim. UNC Healthcare billed 2 Primary Care visits incorrectly as Specialist Care visits, and are refusing the re-file them correctly. I visited my Primary Care Provider,[redacted], on 10/13/2014 at 4:15 PM and on 10/27/2014 at 2:00 PM. For both visits, I made an appointment for a Primary Care visit, and both times I was charged $25 for a PCP copay. UNC Healthcare later billed me an additional $30 ($15 per visit) claiming that my visit was for a Specialist. I contacted UNC, and they agreed it was billed incorrectly and removed the charge. They are now billing me again for the same charges several months later. My [redacted] Insurance rep also confirmed the visits were billed incorrectly by UNC Healthcare. Desired SettlementI would like the balance owed of $30.00 to be removed from my UNC Healthcare account. I would also like reassurance that the charges will not reappear again in the future. They were very friendly and agreed to dismiss the charges. Final Consumer Response

I would strongly encourage anyone looking for fertility treatment to consider another office.","neg-1

On 12/03/2013 I prepaid UNC Fertility $6261.00 for services related to freezing my eggs. I have been trying to have UNC Fertility submit claims for services rendered on 01/21/2014 and 01/23/2014 to my insurance company since 01/23/2014. For reasons unknown to me, UNC Fertility has still not submitted the claims to my insurance company as of today, 04/02/2014.I pre-paid for these services, so I am expecting a large refund. In addition to expecting a refund for $868.00 of services that I did not require, I am also expecting a refund for all services paid by my insurance company. From my records, it appears that of the claims that have been submitted to my insurance I only owe $940.41. However, many charges have not been submitted to insurance.I have contacted the following people about this: UNC Fertility financial counselor [redacted] and UNC Fertility business manager [redacted] (related organization); [redacted] at UNC Central Billing; and UNC Health System billing. I have spent many hours on the phone with all of these people and my insurance company since 01/23/2014. I have been assured many times by UNC Fertility and UNC Central BIlling that it will be handled, but it has not been handled as of today.I have also asked many times for a bill to be sent to me so that I could submit it to insurance, but the attached financial ledger is all that has ever been sent to me from UNC Fertility and it is inappropriate for insurance submission. In addition to expecting this refund, I also need the claims to be submitted to insurance and/or a bill to be sent to me so that I have a refund from my health savings account for my health care expenses. As such, I am waiting on thousands of dollars. I am desperate to have this situation resolved and I see no other options than submitting this complaint. I was otherwise very satisfied by my experience at UNC Fertility, so I am sad to be having this issue.Product_Or_Service: Health careDesired SettlementI'd like the charges incurred on 01/21/2014 and 01/23/2014 to be submitted to my insurance company. I'd like to settle my account with UNC Fertility by them issuing me a refund.

Reported to the Collections/Credit Agencies for unpaid balances. Not informed about any unpaid balances.Furthermore, Incorrect claim sub was issue.I was reviewing our credit report on 6-15-14 & noticed a issue from [redacted]/UNC FACULTY PHYSICIANS. Called UNC to find out issue on 6-18, was transferred to [redacted]. Very combative when I said I never received any info about this. Their 'claim' was they didn't have our new address (where we have been since 11/2011). We have had 2 appointments @ UNC since that date, many letters sent to us about appointments, prescriptions sent, etc. So their claim is false as UNC did have our address,[redacted] should have verified with UNC database first. Their response ,"we send thousands of letters daily & we didn't have to time to check the address" (actual quote). So we were reported for 3 visits, 2 in 2009 for $14 & 1 in 2013 for 102.08. I called [redacted] 6-18-14- they stated claim for 8/ 2013 was submitted incorrectly & they would reprocess today & UNC Faculty would receive payment in 10 business days. For the 2009 visits there is NO record of anything going unpaid. They told us NOT to pay anything as [redacted] had paid in full the allowed amount any claims that were submitted. [redacted] paid all claims & the patient (us) had NO responsibility for any payments in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 or 2013. [redacted] said that we still had to pay it or they wouldnt remove the stuff from our credit report, even though no one has seen any bills to this phantom 28$-. Had we ever recieved ANY notes, bills, etc obviously we would have called the insurance immediately & taken care of it, however we didnt. Nor, in any of our dr visits was anything ever said to anything on our account. I had asked to send us these claims that we owe 28- on that is causing our credit report to be pulled down. We have had issues in the past with UNC billing, where they double billed, billed incorrectly, billed with the wrong social number, etc.. I understand that w/the volume they do there are mistakes, however when they do make mistakes they need to correct them & not make them someone elses problem. I spent over 3hours today off of work to figure this out & dealing with the cynical attitude of their collections department [redacted] I researched ALL claims EVER submitted for my son & not one of them has any outstanding balance or any patient responsibility. There are however, many UNC voided/cancelled bills for incorrect billing, duplicates, wrongly submitted information (ss number) that shows a history of the issues that the billing department has. The only response is they didnt have time to make sure addresses were correct & 'we did send a letter' for claims 2yrs old, to a very old address & that is all we have to do. If you want to collect a debt, you get a correct address first & then send the information. you send the original claim, dates of service, what was paid by insurance, why the claim wasnt paid by insurance or not that they recieve from the insurance & then what was owed. Send the information signature required. Then send a follow up letter-signature required. I would then send one more to be sure.THEN if no response, start collection proceedings. By sending a letter to an address that they never checked, with no information, recieving returned mail/ wrong address & just reporting to the credit agency is not acceptable. Date Reported to Credit Agency: 6/8/2014 for claims for 2009 & 2013. [redacted] FINANCIAL/(XXX) XXX-XXXX. This was not our fault that the claim was submitted incorrectly, not our fault that the information was not received by us so we could take care of it. These are bad billing & collection practices. I want all negative information removed from the credit agencies immediately & a letter stating the issue was theirs. I contacted them, they never contacted us in the 3yrs of 'supposed' unpaid claims.Desired SettlementAs this was a billing issue that I had no control over I feel that this needs to be immediately removed from our credit report. Moreover, if we would have know about these we would have taken care of them.Business Response 06/20/2014 The Revdex.com5540 Munford Road, Suite 130Raleigh, NC XXXXXRE: Complaint # XXXXXXXX Thank you for contacting UNC Health Care and allowing us the opportunity to respond. I had foot surgery on Feb 6 at Rex Hospital. On that day, I paid $2k down to cover my deductible. To date, my $2k is not reflected on my account. I have called UNC Health Care numerous time to get this resolved. In fact, on March 12 I provided UNC Health Care with a receipt of that payment. I called again today (after getting another bill showing this amount still outstanding). My initial payment has not been found. The account should be at $0 balance since I have now paid the final $442.08. I have to call them, it takes wait time, each time getting a different person. I have to give them the same background information over and over. I've talked with the Supervisor twice. Seems no one is concerned about how $2k can be lost - this issue has the potential to impact my credit score. Not because I've done something wrong but because billing for Rex cannot keep up with money paid by patients and UNC Health Care cannot get timely resolution to patient billing inquiries. Ridiculous - $2k is not a small amount of money - why should patients suffer when they do what they are suppose to do !?!Desired SettlementMy account needs to reflect the money paid - I provided the receipt. I request my account be settled accordingly.thank you.04/24/2015 The Revdex.com5540 Munford Road, Suite 130Raleigh, NC 27612RE: Complaint #[redacted]Thank you for contacting UNC Health Care and allowing us the opportunity to respond. I never received a bill, but they turned me over to bill collectors for a lack of payment. Now my credit is ruined when it's their fault and not mine.I was the unfortunate patient of UNC Hospitals when I had a "stomach bug," as they referred to it. Their treatment of me was awful, and their billing practices are even worse. I set up a payment plan with UNC Hospitals, but I missed a payment because they did not send a bill. I continued sending payments when I subsequent bills, but the bills stopped coming a few months ago after I sent a payment. I assumed I had paid off the bill and went on with my life. The next thing I know, I'm receiving harassing calls from bill collectors claiming I owe UNC Hospitals money. I sign on to their web portal to find out that they wrote off the $174.92 that I still owed them as a bad debt. How can this be a bad debt when they never tried to collect it from me? All they did was turn me over to the credit bureau and have debt collectors harass me while I was at work. This is completely unacceptable. They should not be allowed to ruin my credit when they didn't even send me a bill! I demand that my credit be repaired since they are the ones responsible for my lack of payment in the first place. When I discovered I still owed this joke of a hospital money, I paid the bill off, which I would have done sooner had they actually sent me a bill. Desired SettlementI want the bad debt removed from my credit score as UNC Hospitals is responsible for the lack of payment on my part. All I ask is that the bad debt is removed from my credit score and a confirmation of that through the Revdex.com.

I've been a patient at the following medical facility for approximately fifteen years. This filing concerns an inaccurate billing of $30.00, which isn't a lot of money, but I don't feel I should pay an amount I don't owe. I've exhausted all of my contacts and have spent hours trying to resolve this.In October of 2015, I saw a Dr. [redacted] primary care physician, at the UNC Rex Family Practice of Wakefield, XXXXX [redacted] Manly Way, Raleigh, NC. I paid my usual $10 co-pay upfront as requested by my Aetna Medicare [redacted] Plan PPO, Group #XXXXXX, ID [redacted] I should've had no further billing, but was billed an additional $30, which is only required under my plan for a specialist visit. Dr. [redacted] isn't a specialist, which UNC Rex itself will tell you. Despite this inaccurate billing, they persist in billing me and the last one threatened turning this over to a collection agency. On 12/17/15 a [redacted] from Aetna 800/XXX-XXXX notified me that she had resolved this with UNC Rex, and indeed Dr. [redacted] was not a specialist, and I shouldn't have been charged the additional $30.From this same visit I was also wrongly charged $30 for labs. I believe I've straightened this out as they had me listed under a wrong insurance plan. Apparently UNC Rex has joined the growing group of medical providers who're purposely overcharging their patientssome that are too ill to fight back. This should never happen.Desired SettlementAdjust my account to a zero balance where it should be, and send me a copy please.Business Response January 24, 2016The Revdex.com5540 Munford Road, Suite 130Raleigh, NC XXXXXRE: Complaint # XXXXXXXXThank you for contacting UNC Health Care and allowing us the opportunity to respond. I never received a bill for my hospital stay. I would like my account removed from collections and any reference removed from my credit report. This afternoon, 08/25/2014, I received a call from [redacted] on behalf of UNC Hospitals. However, I *never* received a bill for my hospital stay in April. I spent 27 minutes on hold before speaking to someone in UNC's billing department. I was told that my bills were returned because they did not include my apartment number in the address- which I provided, along with my telephone number in the paperwork I was asked to fill out in admissions. I also asked for financial assistance applications multiple times during my hospital stay- which I still have not received. It is not my fault that UNC made an error in addressing my bills and it's certainly not possible for me to pay a bill I never received. Additionally, I requested financial assistance- as suggested by the staff when I was admitted- as I was concerned about the potential cost of the visit. I still don't know what it cost, because I haven't received a bill. I find it amazing that they had sufficient information for a collection agency to contact me, but no one at UNC billing bothered to do so when the bills were returned. I'd also like to point out that I received no financial/billing counseling upon discharge- even though the pamphlets I had been given stated that this was standard. It's certainly possible that this issue could have been avoided had that occurred. I reiterate, it is not my fault that I never received a bill and I would like my account removed from collections, any reference to this debt removed from my credit report and to be provided with an application for financial assistance regarding this bill. Desired Settlement-Account removed from collections.- Any reference to this collection removed from my credit reports.- To be provided with an application for financial assistance. I have received the charity care application, but have yet to receive a bill.

UNC improperly billed me $169.49 for a preventative care visit that should be 100% covered. They acknowledge the error but refuse to correct it. To Whom It May Concern:I received an EOB from my insurance company for my PCP visit to [redacted] Medicine (a UNC Healthcare clinic) on June 8th, 2015. My UNC Chart showed that I had an amount of $169.49 due. I contacted my insurance company and was informed that this amount was due because non-covered labs were billed for this appointment. However, the appointment in question was a routine preventative care visit that should have been 100% covered. The provider, Dr. [redacted] did not diagnose any condition or perform any non-routine labs. We have spoken with the head of billing at my provider's office, [redacted] over a dozen times over the past several months. She has confirmed that services that we received for this service were preventative care. She has also confirmed, on numerous occasions, that my visit should have been covered in full. Each time, [redacted] has assured me that my insurance would be contacted and that she would then call me back once the matter was resolved. And on each occasion, she has failed to follow up. The last time that we had this conversation was in December. She said that she would call me back the next day, but never did. It should be noted that my account with UNC currently shows a balance due of $149.49, and not $169.49. This is because I was charged a co-pay at the time of the visit that should not have been billed. To resolve this matter, I would like the outstanding balance of $149.49 to be removed from my account, and to receive a refund for the $20 co-pay that I was improperly billed. Please feel free to email me at [redacted]@gmail.com or give me a call at XXX-XXX-XXXX. My husband, Dr. [redacted], is also authorized to speak about my account on this matter. He can be reached at XXX-XXX-XXXX.Thank you!Dr. [redacted]Desired SettlementTo resolve this matter, I would like the outstanding balance of $149.49 to be removed from my account, and to receive a refund for the $20 co-pay that I was improperly billed.Business Response March 9, 2016To Whom It May Concern:UNC Hospitals will respond directly to the consumer in regards to Revdex.com Case # XXXXXXXX. In addition to the message above, I was also contacted by UNC Hospitals directly. At this time I have been informed that they are resubmitting the charges and that the billing status is currently pending. I have not been provided with information about when a final resolution would be available. Given the history of my previous attempts to have this resolved and the fact that UNC Hospitals can only tell me that this issue is "pending" at this time, I do not feel that this matter has yet been resolved.Thank you again for your help![redacted]Final Consumer Response
