Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
I had called Uncas Gas several (3) times to switch service from my Father's name to mineAt that time, they had not switched it over, and charged my father for apprxI called again,
stating the account was now to be my responsibility, and I would call for delivery as neededThey came and filled up my tanks, without my call another time, even after I calledUncas Gas never billed me, or left an invoice with the total for the deliveryI called again to set up a delivery date, but then canceled because we had over 50% leftHowever, the driver came out several times, and I had stated those times we were on a will call basisThe driver stated she understood.
I also SIGNED a Contract stating I would be on a will call basisThey had said they hadn't changed the account status in their computers yetNot my problemI paid them ONE time for the propane they delivered without my calling, and gave them a credit card I rarely useNot even two weeks later, a delivery was made, againWithout my callAfter I had signed and mailed the contract several weeks beforeI was charged dollars to the same credit card, without any consent, or knowledge of the bill, or invoiceI was left an invoice with no total or balance on my tank, and it is written on said 'invoice'....that a final invoice would followNo invoice came, and they took the liberty of charging my card I had only authorized to use onceI got so mad, because I never said that it was OK to charge the cardEspecially for that much! What if it was maxed out? What if I wanted to pay cash? At least send me the bill for something I didn't even need.Sincerely,*** ***

Needed an additional propane gas line installed for stand by generac generatorI was quoted a ball park price, with a firm labor chargeThe service tech assessment was in sync with the sales rep's ball park process and quotesThe service techs were focused and efficientWhat surprised me is the honesty in regards to labor chargesThe anticipated job was less than expectedThe revised bill line item reflected this adjustmentSame integrity held for the details of installationFrom service provided by Business Manager to onsite installers and delivery of gas, we like the people, service, honesty, and careHaving been a long term customer persevering through this company's changes and challenges, my confidence has deepened; hence, I would indeed recommend and promote this family owned propane gas company to residents, churches, commercial

Review: I owed Uncas Gas a payment for gas for my propane fireplace. When they didn't receive payment in a timely fashion, they shut off my gas line by disconnecting my hose from my tank. Then they charged my credit/debit card a payment without my authorization. I believe they charged me what I owed them and they charged me a fee to come to the house to shut off the gas. My credit/debit card was on file from previous payments that I had made with them. When I called and asked them why they made an unauthorized payment, they said it was to prevent them from having to come get the propane tank from my house. I was also informed that there would be charge for when they came back to the house to reconnect the hose. I talked to [redacted]he manager and she admitted that she was in the wrong for taking the payment out of my bank account without my authorization. Her idea of fixing the problem was to refund my bank account. I refused to let her do that because I did owe them money. She also informed me that they would waive the fee to reconnect the hose.Desired Settlement: I think they charged me to come and shut off the gas. I want that money returned to me. I also want them to never be able to make a payment with someone's account without permission.

Review: On several occasions the female driver for Uncas Gas arrived to fill up our tanks. We are on a "will call for fill up" basis. The first two times, I had explained that we would call for a fill up, and she agreed that she understood that. I had paid my previous balance, outright in full when I had called to set up the next fill up date. I had not needed to get more gas, so I never asked them to come fill us up. Saturday, February 14th, the driver arrived to fill up our tanks even though I had NOT called, or set up a day to have a delivery. She went behind my house and filled our gas tank without our knowledge and then left an invoice on our tanks. The invoice did not even have a total on it, and stated that I would receive a final invoice later. I was charged 359.00 on my credit card that I had used for a previous payment, but had not authorized any further payments. I was also promised an invoice, and never received it.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back, or at least an apology.

Review: We had Uncas Gas install gas for our new generator and ordered a gas log set from them. When the log set was initially installed, I complained about the noise and the installer told me that I had "super sensitive hearing". He left and I called the company. They sent him back and he told me that it was "a healthy pilot" and it was about my hearing. I had several other people listen and they (one being a contractor) expresses concern about the noise level. I went to Uncas Gas and listened to the units in their shop and was told that they were noiseless and that was true. I called the company again and they sent the salesman who had originally sold us the unit. He confirmed the noise. This morning, April 22, a workman was sent to install a new part - even though I had asked for a replacement unit since it was new and malfunctioning. The noise level is the same. He told me it might "seal up" in two days.I called the company and spoke to the manager, Colleen Gilpin, who refused to give me the name and number of the owner(s). I asked that the log set be removed and my money refunded. She said she would have to speak with the manufacturer. I am at a loss to understand this type of service. I feel as if I have been spoken to in a demeaning manner and feel that it is appropriate to have the device removed and my money refunded.I would very much appreciate any intervention you can provide.
