Lack of notification or regard to customer (especially after explaining situation to [redacted] with assurance of understanding). No privacy practiced.Wonderful customer service when exploring then purchasing storage unit. When my new bill for the month of Nov. came due, I contacted the [redacted] to inform her when payment would be made. Explained I had lost my employment and would contact her again. Spoke with [redacted], the [redacted] again in December and inquired about payment. [redacted] QUOTED the minimum amount required. I told her I would be able to make it there before closing on the following day. When I reached there on the next day, [redacted] would not accept the payment. [redacted] quoted a larger amount and then continued to DISCUSS MY ACCOUNT in the open office while another customer came in and a staff member cashed that customer out. Totally unprofessional on both matters! You quoted incorrectly, did not accept payment and discussed my personal business openly! Before you SOLD all my contents you never contacted me or my emergency contact! Business is Business but (1)"the [redacted] knew the completed situation; (2)My [redacted]' numbers never changed nor did their addresses. No efforts were made to contact me knowing the valuable contents of my unit. The two positive notes out of this whole horrible experience were at least 2 boxes of degrees and diplomas were kept but not my files. And the [redacted] responded to my [redacted] phone call/complaint the very next day... so at least someone displayed some sort of regard!Desired SettlementAcknowledgement that we conversed and you did not accept payment twice. Some compensation for selling all my contents and the receipts from the Post-Office documentation showed that there was no delivery. You auctioned anyways with receipt of certified mail and NO CONTACT TO EMERGENCY CONTACTS. BAD-BUSINESS!Business Response RE: Uncle Bob's Self Storage [redacted] located at [redacted] St. (Rt. Copies of all relevant documents are enclosed.On October 25, 2013, [redacted] entered into a self-service storage rental agreement at the referenced facility. The rental agreement expressly states that rent is due on the first of each month and that a lien attaches if the account is in continuous default for a period of 30 days.The account was in continuous default, and the contents of the storage space were sold at public auction on January 9, 2014 for non-payment of rent and other charges according to state statute.Prior to auction, notices were mailed to Ms. [redacted] at her last known address and published in a local newspaper. Additionally, our personnel attempted to call Ms. [redacted] on a number of occasions.Total delinquency on the day of auction was [redacted] Total income at auction was [redacted] The balance was submitted to collections.Thank you, [redacted]
