We purchased a vehicle from Uncle Joes on November 15, 2019. We made a payment of $231 and after that I then lost my job. We had made prior arrangements after I was hired with my new place of employment to make a payment on January 31 and we would be able to keep our car. The lady I had correspondence with via email and phone, all of sudden has left the company and she took along with her my emails and all notes regarding our phone calls. The car was repossessed on the 29th of January and to no avail, we have been unable to get our vehicle back. I want my money back since this has happened. Please help!!!!!!!!!!

On November 15, 2019 *** and *** purchased a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis on a $99 down special. Due to privacy laws I can only give basic information.

There was only one payment made on this account which was set up on a bi-weekly payment. This payment was delinquent when made. Several attempts have been made to contact customers with

phone calls and text. The remarks and follow up comments on the account was reviewed on the phone with *** on Wednesday January 29, 2020. Due to both of them being out of work, and *** getting a job, they agreed to make two payments on January 15th 2020. On this date when a call was made for a payment, *** stated that no payment could be made. She stated she would make a payment on January 31,2020. No agreement was made to accept another extension till the 31st. With the delinquency and broken promise to pay, a decision was made to pick up the car according to the laws and requirements of the state of South Carolina.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.

***

I had an agreement and had been in contact with a lady who is no longer with the business. I had an agreement on the 31st. I want my payment back as well as my $99.

The car was picked up as stated in the previous response in accordance with the laws of the State of SC. There is no refund of the down payment of $99 or the one payment made on the account. Multiple efforts were made to work with the customers.

I purchased a car from them almost two years ago. Last year they charged a credit card they had saved on my account (without my permission) twice for payments. I had previously asked them three times to remove this card from my file. Once the person whose card it was saw unauthorized charges on their statement, they filed to have their money returned. Since then they have reported me being late at total of 14 times and counting (which is a lie). This is negatively impacting my credit score due to an error on their parts. Almost four months ago, I inquired about my balance, only to find it had only went down by maybe $1,000. Which they tried to explain away as the first year being applied to the interest not the principal. Even though, at the time of purchase I told them I wanted all payments applied to the principal. I had a lot of problems out of the vehicle, and even had the same issue more than once. Considering they were having me take it to their repair shops, this definitely shouldn't have been the case. Fast forward to two months ago. The car overheated and had to be towed twice. The first time I had the temperature sensors and thermostat replaced. The week after, it ran hot again. This time it wouldn't start. I had it towed and taken to the shop, where it sat for two weeks because their warranty people refused to honor the warranty I'd been paying for since day one. They even tried to lie on the mechanic, who spoke to Uncle Joe's and had witnesses to the conversation. They were not only rude to them, but rude to me as well. They had the car taken to one of their shops to have a second opinion done as far as a diagnosis. Two months later, I still don't know where the car is...they never furnished a rental for me, or put me in a loaner car. What I was told, is that I'd have to pay upfront for a rental and be reimbursed $100. Which is not what they'd done previously. When one of their shops told them it had a blown head gasket, they got a second opinion from another one of their shops

To Revdex.comFrom :Joe HRe: ***In July of 2017 *** purchased a 2004 Chevrolet Impala. The car had a 2 year/24000 mile warranty through ***. In response to her 1st complaint, any time a payment is called in or a card used, we will always ask if it's ok to use the last card on file. If someone'scard other than the borrower is used to make a payment, and it's disputed a refund must be given. The payment amount refunded would then be due.We offered a payment history report showing all payments due and when they were paid. Our loans are calculated on simple interest. On any payment, interest is collected first and the remaining payment amount is applied to principle. Concerning the repair issue, in May 2019 Ms. had her car towed to a shop and stated she paid for a thermostat.(Note: she was reimbursed $100 for the tow bill by ***) A few days later the car was taken to *** repair shop by her. The mechanic at ***'s talked with Justin at *** Warranty. The mechanic stated the car had overheatedand the motor was bad. *** denied the claim after talking to the shop. In order to get a second opinion and get *** to reconsider the claim, We had the car towed to ***in ***, SC. Ms. was going to provide us receipts were she paid to have the thermostat put in initially. Starting May 17th,several emails and text attempts were made to get a copy of the repair receipt, but none was received. (see attached last 2 e-mails dated May 31, 2019). Without this information, we could not re-submit the claim.Joe Hwww.unclejoescars.com864-

This is incorrect. I was told unless you state specifically, which I did, that you wanted payments to go towards the principal they'd but put towards the interest. Also, my mother picked up my tag. At which time she was told my payment was late. Which was a lie because my payment wasn't due until that Friday. She made a payment, I then made another payment that Fri. At which time I found out what happen & made the first attempt at having that card number deleted. I didn't phone in my payments. My payments were always processed by Sonya after texting me. The other untruth is about the repairs. My first tow was to ***'s Garage. Which was $200. They also replaced the thermostat, sensors, another part that was broken, & did a weld. The second tow was by *** towing, AFTER they're warranty ppl sent another company who 13hrs later hadn't come. These are the ppl who the warranty ppl talked to. They decided to have the car towed & didn't tell me. The garage called to tell me. I sent tow receipts & garage bills from *** and it took almost 2wks for them to pay .

Unfortunately when borrowing money, payments are always applied to interest first. I also pulled up and reviewed a payment history from July 15,2017 through February 26, 2018 and from March 17, 2018 through May 5, 2019 when the loan was refinanced. She is more than welcome to a copy of her history. As mentioned in the first response, we requested several times a copy of the repairs but never received them. When the warranty talked to the mechanic the claim was denied. We had the car towed to get a second opinion and the motor was overheated and now bad. We were trying to go back to the warranty and resubmit to cover a replacement motor, but needed the repair receipts. As stated in her last e-mail that was attached to the first response, she had purchased another car.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
As I stated before, Sonya processed my payments. I didn't call them in. Furthermore, at the time of purchase I told the salesman (Jeremy I believe) that I wanted my payments applied to the principal. After being without a car for over a month, I indeed secured another vehicle. I was never offered a loaner car, and was told if I obtained a rental only three days would be covered, at I believe around $33/day. Also, the fact of the wrong card being charged, due to errors on their part still haven't been addressed. Which they have marked my account with 14 late payments as a result, when they are the ones that process my payments therefore, if they were late was also an error on their part. I also stress again, that the tow receipt from ***'s was sent in and the repair bill was sent in twice. I also stated this on texts between Sonya & I. I have statements from second tow company (*** Towing), as well as witnesses to what was said to the warranty company. The overheating was from no error on my part. They spoke to Sonya and told her this as well as me relaying a message to her from them, stating they had to put less than a gallon of water into the car when checking it to see what was wrong with it. Which meant their were fluids in it, contrary to what the warranty company stated.

If I could give zero stars I would. By far one of the worse car lots I have ever in my life dealt with. I turned my car back over after paying on it for months early every single time. I had multiple issues which they did make right the first time. When I called explaining I was having unexpected surgery and would maybe be late on one payment due to having to be out of work I was told the best advice they could give me was to pay my payments up in advance my vehicle could be disabled. I decided to turn the car back over to them where I was told per randy that it would be reported ad voluntary. Instead they reported delinquent payments on my credit reports and then a repo. When asked how to keep it from being a repo I was told I could start making payments on the car again although they didnt have posession of it anymore. Why pay for a car that I wouldn't even get back. Complete RIP off

purchased her car on April 26, 2017. On February 27, 2018 she requested the car to be picked up due to health concerns. We held the car for several weeks, and I sent a follow up text and e-mail on April 26, 2018 to reach back out on getting her car back. There was no response. On April 5, 2018 the car was processed as a voluntary repossession. As required by fair lending guidelines, all payments on time and delinquent were reported to Equifax.

I think that this is by far the most unprofessional company that I've ever encountered. I purchased a vehicle from them about 6 months ago, I drove off of the lot needing an oil change, the tail light is now out, the AC has gone out, the cigarette light(which I use to charge my phone) has gone out, the brakes and rotors have gone out (which per *** confirmed they were rusty prior to my purchase), the back passenger window was stuck at one point and would not roll back up and they have given me nothing but attitude since purchase. The manager even walked away from me mid conversation. None of this things have been fixed. I'd never recommend this dealership to ANYONE.

On March 23, 2018 Ms. purchased a 2006 Tucsan. She had called recently about some car issues, but with her work schedule was having trouble finding time to get the car to a shop. We did arrange with her schedule to have her car to a shop Monday, September 10th at 9am. We had the shop reserve a bay for her specifically. She came by at 8:45 stating she would have to reschedule and wanted Tuesday morning instead. That schedule was not available at the time. She became upset and left. We can certainly look at rescheduling a time.

The response from the dealership is corrupt and I stand behind my review.

I went to this car lot this past Friday and purchased a vehicle that before I even left the lot had tail light issues and then the brake light on the dash came on so the day I took it back to the lot a man fixed the tail light issue and told me the brake light was because the parking brake was causing it and it wasnt anything to worry about. Then exactly 4 days later I ended up stranded at the library and had to get a jump. When I got home I replaced the battery and it would not do anything. I called them and they sent a tow truck at no charge to pick it up and take it to a shop. Ok everything seems ok until day 5 calling them and the man tells me that I have to call the shop directly to find out whats going on and I did he said he was replacing a starter. Alright 4 and half hours go by no word so I call shop again he says oh its ready we are waiting on the lot to lt us know about the warranty. So I call lot and nobody can tell me anything other than to text the man from the lot that handles this so I did and then he tells me finally its ready and he let the man at the shop know but I had to pay $100.00 to the man at the shop. I flipped out because I felt that was not fair considering I had only had it 4 days and had only driven it twice. This was a preexisting problem. Now I am stuck still without my vehicle because I dont have the money to pay the man in order to pick it up and the man from the lot is not helping either. He just wants to continue to tell me that I have to pay the $100.00 They buy these vehicles at an auction and evidently they dont check them over before selling them. Not to mention today I look up on Kelley and also Edmonds and they are charging me over $6000.00 more than the car is worth,, The sales lady that helped me was very nice and those in the office doing the financial end as well but the rest can go to pot. I am disabled and have a disabled 10 year old son and now we are stranded again and no way to go.

Ms. did call about her car 4 days later. Randy, customer service with Uncle Joe's, stated that we would have the car towed at our expense for a no start issue. Instead the customer purchased a battery and then called back with the same problem. The car was towed and the alternator had quit charging. Our warranty is a 2 year/ 36000 mile and includes alternators, but does have $100 deductible. I understand the car was just bought, however electrical parts such as an alternator can quit at any time. Out of pocket cost would have been $300 to $400, instead her cost was $100 deductible.

Very deceptive in their practices. When asked about the monthly payment, they give you a figure that sounds reasonable. Then they take all your information to give you a quote. They do NOT tell you they are running a credit report, but will ask you to sign a paper verifying the information you provided is accurate. I told them I didn’t want the hit on my report until I knew the terms. They run a credit report, without telling you that is what they are doing. Afterward they tell you the monthly payment they had originally gave you was a weekly payment. At that point, your credit report has a hard inquiry, which brings your rating down, and you are saying “no” because their terms are ridiculously high. After you tell them thanks but no thanks, they continue to text and call you. When you tell them to stop calling and texting you, they have a different sales representative call and text you. They are NOT A GOOD OPTION FOR ANYONE LOOKING TO BUY A RELIABLE USED CAR. Save yourself the hassle and go to a reputable dealership.
