My dad found myself in a predicament and responded to an advertisement I received from Groove Loan. My dad completed the process and was matched by Groove Loan with Uncle Warbucks. He foolishly took a loan for $700.
On Jan 3rd, Uncle Warbucks automatically withdrew a payment of $350. In the meantime, I did some research . I found astonishing informaiton to include the fact that Uncle Warbucks has no address within the United States.
In fact, Uncle Warbucks does not operate within the United States, therefore, has no license in my state which makes it an illegal loan AND an invalid loan.
I found the following on the Revdex.com site:
“Revdex.com is cautioning consumers about an online Payday Lender that uses multiple names, yet shares the same address in Quebec.
Revdex.com Serving Delaware became aware of the companies in May 2018 when consumers began to inquire and file complaints. Upon investigation, Revdex.com discovered that that multiple websites (Uncle Warbucks, Rapital Capital, Money Messiah, Dash of Cash) offer the same products, with very similar/identical text, graphics, layout and most notably, are using the same PO BOX address in Quebec. https://www.Revdex.com.org/us/de/newark/profile/payday-loans/uncle-warbucks-0251...⇄ />
The address in Delaware (40 E. Main Street, Newark) is simply a Mail Forwarding address and not a physical location for this business.
There has been no verifiable physical location determined for this/these companies.
Revdex.com requested that the company modify its business practices, provide a physical location for the company, and conspicuously disclose business relationships between the multiple companies and websites.
Further, the Consumer Protection Units of California and Illinois issued Cease and Desist Orders for Rapital Capital, Uncle Warbucks and Money Messiah. The orders indicate the company/ies are not licensed to offer payday loans in those states and have violated consumer protection laws.”
I immediately demanded that Uncle Warbucks cease from taking ACH payments from my my dad’s checking account. I made this request on Jan 3rd 2023. I followed up REPEATEDLY and have not received a response.
The response was an intimidation tactic refusing to provide me with a United States mailing address and instead asking me to use a NetSpend prepaid card which I could get from WalMart!
This is NOT legitimate. Groove Loan should NOT be matching unsuspecting patrons with this company.
He borrowed $700 and my dad has paid back all he owes.
Iwant my dad’s account to be marked CURRENT/IN GOOD STANDING at all times. He is elderly/disabled.
This is a racket and a predatory company! They claim to be part of the "Speedy Loan Network", however, an Internet search of that company results in NO MATCHES.
