Underwood's Painting & Home Repair

Basically the same scenario as the previous poster. We paid him for "materials" up front. We were told the project would take two days. Everyday he has said he would come he has come up with a different excuse... this has been going on for over two weeks now. We have requested a full refund but he has failed to respond to our calls or texts. Would NOT recommend this company.

Owner has been paid over half for upgrades to house and haven't been seen in over 3 weeks, close to a month and seldom communicates.During consultation with owner before he started upgrades in January, he said he could complete the project in 10 days, which I knew could not happen.He said his father, two brothers and himself worked the company. Being mislead, I thought they would all be working on the project. I asked about him being insured and about the contracts and if I would get a contract with the time and references. I haven't gotten either yet, even though I have mentioned it several times. I do take the blame for that, letting them start projects without them. The upgrades were for the kitchen(painting cabinets,new sink,new counter,hardware for cabinets,laminate flooring,drywall ceiling,paint walls,close in window);for dining room (drywall ceiling,paint walls,laminate flooring);for bathroom total remodel. For each project I would pay half up front and half upon completion, in which I wrote a check. Of course he always asked for over half.Before they could do any flooring they had to lift the foundation and did so in the basement. I was told they had to do 3 phases, only one phase has been done, but paid all monies.The new kitchen sink is stained from paint brushes being washed(sink is black grainite),new counter is damaged(on right end it looks like a piece was knocked off and they glued it back on and on the right corner a piece of the corner is knocked off under the counter.)My motion alert has been damaged by the kitchen door.The dining area and kitchen walls need touch ups. I have asked several times for my smoke detector to be put back up b/c it is coded with my alarm system. I am missing 2 bottles of Rid X. I have given them over half of the money for the bathroom project that they said would start on 05/25/2016 and did not have any communication that they were not going to show up. When I call you can never leave a message b/c the vm is full, so I text and don't get a response. When he finally does answer,there is always an excuse as to why he hasn't been in contact. The owner initially said that he could complete everything for $4000. And of course there were some things that needed to be done that was not in that price, which I understand with the age of the house. It has been almost 6 months and nothing is completed. I had to leave a message on his father's phone that I was contacting Revdex.com and the trouble shooter in order for him to contact me, and he still had an excuse as to why he wasn't there on the 25th to start the bathroom. Yet when I text him on 4/28 he told me he would be able to start and complete the bathroom from 05/25-05/30. I feel as if they have taken my money and have are refusing to communicate because they don't plan on coming back.Desired SettlementTo hand me over a contract with time line and complete the upgrades along with replacing any and everything that has been damaged.
