Unicorn Moving Company Reviews (4)

This brings us back to our original dispute. You've made it full circle MR [redacted]. This is how I ended up speaking to you because you personally refused delivery of my pictures and movie. [redacted] and I discussed this and he agreed that there was no way his computer could handle 30 high definition jpg's, besides the fact that I would have to send them one by one from my iPhone, and a 20-30 minute movie, nor could I send the movie through my IPhone 6+. You are already aware of this. I can't do that on my phone or through this system either. I'm not an IT guy. But when I offered to deliver the video and discuss them Dean [redacted] his response was "let me put you on hold and ask the boss (I assume since he's the Supervisor of THe Complaints Department, his boss you ([redacted]) I'm not sure that's possible Mr [redacted]." Upon his return to the phone, *. [redacted] told me "Unicorn Movers has no physical address that I could do this at."At this point I again requested a supervisor to come look at my belongings because "I was not a professional adjuster and this could be worked out better if their company looked at what I was describing" ? Told Mr [redacted] that maybe we should seek "Legal Counsel" regarding the photo images and movie Delivery, and this is when he said he could no longer discuss the issue with me. The only person who could discuss legal matters was [redacted], the owner. We had been discussing legal matters this entire time however. I discussed with my bank, BancFirst in Oklahoma, about how the move went and how I signed a bill that said $430, but at the end of the job when my receipt was handed back to me said $588.00.  The bank said this was a common type of "FRAUD" when companies or individuals get signatures and then run bills as e-checks while in possession of your bank card info. You've never addressed this once [redacted]. You refer to my damages regularly but decline to answer about the elevated charges.  Your crew was with me for almost 12hrs but they couldn't stick around long enough but to write down two small vintage counter items that were smashed in front of me. They never discussed the mirror, the hand made Cedar Chest with busted hinges setting on its side, not even right side up. . . I refuse your offer because it is filled with invalid arguments to try to drag this out as long as possible. YOu never mailed the first check to me and I don't have one now it's July 16th.I feel that you are purposely dragging this out as long as possible wasting my time, and disrespecting the process that the Revdex.com offers to citizens. In a court of law they would look upon the as disrespectful. We can't mediate without a mediator if you keep dragging this around in circles. I am more than willing to deliver the images. I understand your trying to fall back on the $0.30 cents a pound law in Texas for movers liability. Although I believe our contract that notes "BOXES... NEED EXTREME CARE PLATES WORTH A LOT OF MONEY, IRREPLACEABLE" That's fine, as you said on the phone "many of my items are dense due to their age and composition". You can dodge this as many ways as you want. Your company has busted many of my items, vandalized some, overcharged me against my will, and lied about mailing compensation. I have not gone to all the Web based complaint sites and given bad reviews, I simply brought this to the Revdex.com to help settle this and your dragging it on as long as possible. Regards, [redacted]

On June 20, 2016 we received a Revdex.com complaint from [redacted] (ID #[redacted]). Mr. [redacted] spoke with three different Unicorn supervisors, including myself, about being unsatisfied with his move. After very long conversations with each of us, it was not clear what issues he had with our moving...

services. Mr. [redacted] would touch upon various instances of his dissatisfaction, but 80% of the conversations were about his personal life and topics having nothing to do with the move or the move process. I repeatedly asked Mr. [redacted] what his concerns were and what he would like me to do; including offering a settlement amount, and still there was no resolution. Our conversation ended with Mr. [redacted] being quite rude to me by talking to me in a manner in which I was not going to take any longer. In response I politely told him I was going to end the conversation and that I would be in touch with him. Immediately following our conversation, in good faith, we cut Mr. [redacted] a check and mailed it to him that same day, in the amount of $100.00. That was on June 15, 2016. [redacted]PresidentUnicorn Moving & Storage[redacted]

Regarding Mr. [redacted]’s complaint (#[redacted]).  After looking over his letter there seems to be some disagreement between what he said and what we said. We are willing to keep this claim process going forward.  Since Mr. [redacted] and I could not come to any conclusion at the time our conversation, in good faith we sent him a check in the amount of $100.00. In retrospect we should have mailed the first letter/check certified with a return receipt. We are reissuing the check in the amount of $100.00 and will be sending this one accordingly. In order to further address Mr. [redacted]’s claim we will need photographs and descriptions of all damages. The photos should be of the entire damaged item and a close up picture of the damage with a pencil or coin next to the damage to show perspective. In addition we need the weight of each damaged item. We look forward to receiving these items and moving forward with the claims process. Sincerely,[redacted]PresidentUnicorn Moving & Storage

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: [redacted] person response to my complaint lacks validity, and in regards to his settlement offer and response, these are blatent lies. No mail or contact of any form has ever been received from Unicorn Movers or [redacted] since the day he hung up on me, his client. My initial call, and complaint, on day of move to Unicorn Movers came prior to my bank account being charged for the move. I did speak to [redacted] who never announce or suggested, in any way that she was a Supervisor at Unicorn Movers. I was informed by the moving staff that she was an "incompetent estimator" and often left them and other movers out on the job ill prepared. While on the phone I requested a supervisor on site at my new apartment, where the move had taken place. I felt this necessary to document damage above and beyond normal moving circumstances. I contacted my bank immediately asking for a stop payment until this could be resolved. Banc First (Oklahoma) informed me that my bank card had been run like an E-check and the money was already gone. The contract charge I signed stated $430.00, $588.00 had been removed from my account. This transaction took place while I was on the phone requesting an onsite supervisor. Upon hanging up the phone I received a copy of my contract from , clearly showing my signature, and directly below it a NOTICE: regarding ADDENDUMS. I had already written an addendum stating, verbatim "need to discuss some issues with management!  :) (my signature) [redacted]. I did not get to discuss with any management that day, simply a woman named [redacted]. The following morning at 8:42am I spoke with Unicorm Movers after typical greeting on phone I discovered I was speaking to [redacted] telephonically. [redacted]s first words after I said introduced myself were, "I understand you have a problem with me." I simply stated their was many issues with the move and I requested a supervisor or management in site to go through damages and witness the way my home had been moved. I had touched nothing since the drivers/movers left. [redacted]s response was, "this will have to be elevated to my supervisor who takes complaints, I don't do that" (her tone and dialect were improperly used, suggesting she was angry and not properly trained to accept complaints). [redacted] took my name and number and stated [redacted] would return my call as soon as he was in the office or available. [redacted] called at roughly 1pm that day. We discussed the moved, my boxes being dropped down flights of stairs, tape gun styled vandalism to some of my objects, and a move that was slated to take place between 8am and 12pm, yet did not finish until 5pm, June 10th, 2016. [redacted] was very professional on the phone.[redacted] seemed concerned and asked me to take photos of all damage and email them to [redacted]. After a few hours of doing what Mr [redacted] requested we made contact again per a phone call I initiated. I expressed to [redacted], not only was the shuffling around of boxes physically hard on me due to my health condition, and that I was a heart patient, the move alone had cause massive stress on my body. The emotion aspect of finding my items in such disarray was emotionally unsettling. I once again requested that there must be an easier way to perform this. The time alone to mail 30-40 jpegs could take hours, and the movie I made of my home any its contents of boxes in complete disarray (in one room) could not be compressed with my current limited computer equipment (my iPhone 6+). We had to find an easier way to do this maybe I could visit the office. [redacted] said it was not standard that clients do this and that the only way they documented complaints was via emailed photo images to him. [redacted], never suggested he was a Supervisor, just complaints department. frustrated at this point with the constant limitations and lack of effort by Unicorn Movers I stated to [redacted] that I may have to call some form of Legal Counsel to help resolve this issue. Immediately [redacted] responded "I can only refere you to [redacted] our owner at this time. If your suggesting your bringing in lawyers or legal help I can't speak to you any longer. You are welcome to write My [redacted] and send my developed pictures or legal paperwork to [redacted].  [redacted] called at 4:34pm soon following from number [redacted] (24/48hrs, unsure when call came). I immediately expressed to him, after greeting that I was under duress. I told Mr [redacted] I was a heart patient, had just returned from a walk with my service animal and I was medicated, as well as lying down for a nap. Due to my shortness of breath I was unable to make any agreements with him at the time. If he wanted to make an arrangement to send a supervisor to my location the following day or to at least express what he considerd a settlement. He refused to do either, asked me what I wanted from him. My response was "[redacted], I cannot be your companies insurance assessor, I am in need of rest. It is not my job to access the damages. I apologize, but I'm in no condition to talk, like I said I'm short of breath, laying down and medicated... [redacted] said some unintelligible words, told me I was impossible and that he would speak to me another day. He then hung up the phone at exactly 5:00pm (as if he was off the clock).  I have never ever heard from [redacted] since. No phone calls, as he stated, no letter as he stated and no check for any amount as he stated. I know if I was a company sending out a settlement check or any type of legal matters it would be Certified Mail. This is the way all legal matters are handled according to my business and legal proceeding history. to this day, July 3, 2016 no contact from Unicorn Movers or [redacted] has been made. His response stating he mailed a $100.00 check is a blatent lie. I know if my company or I mailed a check following up on a complaint it would be Certified requiring a signature so there could be no question whether it was received and a cashed check copy would be in [redacted]s possession. beyond all this $100 comes nowhere close to compensation the $2500 mirror damaged in the move. This item was pointed out directly to the movers, it's value explained and I asked them if they could move it or should I. The mover said. "I got this covered, we can pack this." In hindsight I should have moved the mirror myself or used another moving company. Pictures of mirror including sale price attached.
Regards,
[redacted]
