Review: I have used this company (I found out his contracting license expired in 2011 after contacting Dept. of Consumer Affairs) owned by [redacted] 6 times to remodel homes/condos. I've recommended him many times & on this last home renovation (#6), a job originally to take 4-6 weeks, went to 4 months without completion-the last 2 months with practically nothing done. After feuding over these last 2 months over all the lies (I have text message documentation) I was being told-I kicked [redacted] off the job. Upon inspection after he cleared his equipment (and some materials already paid for), I discovered my brand new central air unit gone and my next door neighbor told me that Uniform Construction damaged their fence (I was never told by contractor) when he received shipment of dirt. At the time I made him leave-Uniform Construction was due $4,100.00 (Last payment was to be $8,000.00, but I gave more than contract required). I had to get a new contractor to complete work (including neighbor fence repair, new A/C unit & carpet company) in the amount of nearly $15,000.00. Therefore I overpaid approximately $11,000.00 over my contract price.Desired Settlement: Would like to be reimbursed the $11,000.00 that it cost me to have my original contract be completed by a licensed contractor. I also feel that I am entitled to restitution for the bills I have incurred due to the 3-4 month delay in completion (taxes, insurance, gas, electric, water bills)
