Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowThe person who wrote this does not appear to be *** --the same person to whom I spoke in person and on the phone. Their account is partially correct, but some important things were changed or left out. I am a soft spoken, retired Special Ed teacher on a budget, and do not scream, or I would have been fired a long time ago. They must have confused me with that other woman who was yelling at them that same day
1. I took my year old car in for an oil leak problem last month It is I paid *** $for the inspection His verbal estimate to repair two oil pan gasket replacements was $1200. He told me he would apply the $inspection charge to repairs when I was ready to do it Just a few days later, one of my radiator hoses blew a hole. It was an emergency to have that fixed first and I took it in right away
2. When the girl handed me a blank work order to sign for the hose repair, it had an additional $charge at the top I gave it back without signing, and said, “But I already paid that.” *** said, “Don’t worry, it will apply.” He never explained the two $charges and their complicated applications.
3. He called me with the estimate for the hose repair just before closing about an hour later; it was for over $ In this estimate, *** included several other repairs to increase the bill total, but none were related to the critical problem. He talked me into replacing both large hoses and not just the damaged one I said no, but he said they already took it off! I totally felt ambushed over the phone I know auto repairs are costly, and do not expect something for nothing, but I do expect honesty.
4. I paid the invoice and saw *** had reduced it by $25, but I did not see even one $credit when I had paid two $fees. I asked for the two old hoses but didn’t receive them
5. Union’s website offers coupons and told me about it, so why is it a problem? The site did not give me a pcoupon to print out like most professional websites do, so I thought it wasn't working. This explains my repeated attempts to navigate the site. Unfortunately, their coupons cannot be printed out to use like other businesses.
Thank you,
CA

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that it cannot be resolved any further.
OH SURE---NOW YOU EXPLAIN IT---THANX. I UNDERSTAND THAT THE PERSON WRITING THIS IS NOT ***, AND HEAR THAT YOU THINK I AM TRYING TO GET SOMETHING FOR NOTHING. THIS IS YOUR IMAGINATION AND DID NOT HAPPEN. I PAID YOU WITHOUT HESITATION, SO DROP THE ATTITUDE.
LISTEN GENIUS, IF YOU DON'T GET ANYTHING ELSE FROM THIS COMPLAINT-- GET THIS: *** FAILED TO CLEARLY EXPLAIN THE SECOND $90. HE NEVER EXPLAINED THERE WAS ANOTHER $CHARGE, OR WHY, OR HOW IT WOULD APPLY. WHEN I SAW IT ON THE WORK ORDER, AND SAID, "ALREADY PAID THAT", HE SAID, "YES, I WILL GIVE YOU CREDIT." THIS WAS A SUPERFULOUS CHARGE ANYWAY BECAUSE ANYBODY COULD SEE THE HOLE IN THE HOSE WITH THE STEAM SHOOTING OUT FROM FEET AWAY. I CALLED EVEN BEFORE BRINGING IT IN, TOLD HIM OVER PHONE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS . YOU DIDN'T NEED ANOTHER $TO FIND IT.
AND THIS: YOU OFFER ONLINE COUPONS BUT NO ONE CAN ACCESS THEM ONLINE I TRIED YOUR WEBITE MULTIPLE TIMES BECAUSE IT LOOKED LIKE IT WASN'T WORKING---NOT BECAUSE I WANTED COUPONS. THE COUPON NEVER POPPED UP LIKE MOST WEBSITES, SO I KEPT TRYING. IT DOESN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT PICKING UP A COUPON ONLY IN-STORE AND AFTER AN OVERVIEW BY THE MANAGEMENT.
YOU NEED TO BETTER EXPLAIN THINGS TO YOUR CUSTOMERS CLEARLY AND EXACTLY. ESPECIALLY ABOUT APPLICATION OF THE $FEE AND THE COUPONS. STILL THINKING YOU DID? THINK AGAIN.

Dear ***,
Sorry for taking a couple of days to answer with the weekend
and Veterans’ day piled up, and you are right my remark was definitely in bad
taste
From what I understood you saying in your complaint is that
the signature is not yours, you have not authorized the repairs and that you
did not want to pay, you actually were expecting money back and for that you
were told you need to go small claims courtI myself think that was some bad
advice, and here is why, Mr*** what you have described is Criminal
Identity Theft, Fraud and Thievery, were I in your shoes I would skip Yelp and
the Revdex.com and go straight to a Police Station and file the appropriate report, let
the Police do their investigating meanwhile I would put a freeze and an alert on
my credit with all three agencies
I am certain you won’t, because filing a police report
carries a penalty and exonerates us at the same time; So here’s my suggestion,
instead of the libel and the slandering you are getting yourself into with each
paragraph you write, I will agree to refund you the $as a full and final
settlement of all issues between you, your wife and Union Auto Service Center, by
which you and your wife also agree to stop and to retract all untrue statements
made by you and your wife in any internet review site or medium and that will
resolve this issue once and for all
Now, just to dot the I’s and cross the t’s, we did not
charge you $to reset the maintenance reminder, the $labor charge clearly
states: “Change Oil and Filter” along with the resetNow just because I can
slap a steak on a grill and make an awesome dinner, when I go out to eat, I expect
to pay for the entire plate and not just the cost of the meat as if I bought it
myself at a grocery storeIf you don’t like to pay others for their service,
and granted I save money by doing things myself too, just change the oil at
home like many people do…it’s a great way to get to know your car more in-depth
and take care of it
Sincerely,
Management

Well, at the expense of sounding repetitive, I must point out the facts yet one more time.

1- $90.00 paid for checking oil leaks will in fact be credited towards the oil leak repairs estimate if and when customer chooses to return and have the repairs done.

2- $90.00 invoiced the second time for checking overheating condition was never physically charged, but rather discounted as part of the $124.97 discount given on the invoice.

3- As for the discount, original invoice was $449.97, only after 27.7 % discount that she only paid $ 325.00. I think 27.7 % Discount is more than any other discounts offered by Union Auto.

4- As for Diagnostic Fees, each occurrence incurs a separate charge, so when she paid a month earlier to check for oil leaks, then she returns a month later to check for overheating and says "But I already paid that", that is a disingenuous statement made by the customer, because Yes she paid a month earlier to check for oil leaks and she received service for that fee, the subsequent inspection carries a new  fee which is part of the initial estimate given at the time the ticket is written that the customer consents to so we can check the vehicle, in this instance it was for overheating, that second diagnostic service was completed and fee was discounted.

1 service =  1 fee, 2 services = 2 fees, it is not a Knot's Berry Farm Ticket, you buy 1 day and get the rest of the year for free.

Best regards,

This customer brought her vehicle on 02-13-2014, Invoice Number [redacted] and asked to check for oil leaks, we charged her $90 to check for oil leaks and told her that would apply towards the labor of the repairs...

needed to fix the oil leaks, after the inspection we gave her an estimate to replace engine oil pan gasket and valve cover gaskets and she declined it.This customer brought her vehicle again on 03-10-2014 (a month later) Invoice Number [redacted], this time for an overheating condition, she signed a $90 estimate to check for overheating, however we did not collect any money at this time, after the inspection was concluded, we made the recommendations for repairs, customer selectively chose to repair certain items and declined others, we agreed on $350.00 plus tax which included a ($90 discount for the inspection fee) that was at 04:00 PM  on 03-10-2014 and we immediately proceeded with the work.
The next morning at 08:00 AM, I checked my email and found out that she emailed us for times between 04:40 AM and 04:58 AM requesting 15% School Teacher’s discount, 15% Senior Citizen discount, and then another 15% School Teacher’s Discount, at the same time I am reading the emails, this customer called screaming about her discounts and asked to cancel the work, I told her that the vehicle was already apart, I immediately took a video with the time and location stamp documenting vehicle being apart, I told her if she wanted to put the vehicle back together she would owe the labor however we would be installing the old parts and that would be counter-productive, I offered her additional discount while still doing everything as agreed upon the day before and she agreed. I also explained to her that discounts may not be combined and cannot be done on top of an existing discount of $124.97 on $325.00 repair bill, besides no one is here to read emails at 04:00 in the morning!!  She also wanted to apply the $90.00 she paid a month earlier to check the oil leaks on her car and I told her I would gladly apply that when she authorizes us to repair the oil leaks as stated in that invoice.
I wish we were able to help her better but the fact of the matter is that we cannot give all the possible discounts available at once or else you can technically get a $2000 transmission job for $2, we do not mind helping people in need sometimes but we are still a business not a charity organization funded with donation. Please find attached invoices and emails to support my claims.

Sincerely,

Union Auto Service

Yes my wife posted a comment on on Yelp and she called the Police dept to see what we can do to get our money. I am told to take this to the small claim since it was a debit charge. Like I said I only wanted an oil change and they claim they did more if this matter is not resolve here them I will take my car to another place to have it evaluated again and take further legal actions.   These people are crooks and they did not tell me that I have write the word REJect on the paper. They also charge 10.00 to reset my change oil light..... WTH  I did that myself had to get the manual out and did it. Now they claim they did all this work but then said oh it was our error and yes I was expecting a refund but not a charge for more money. I will continue to give bad review to this place until they return my money and now that I have to complaint about them I would never take my car back there. Hello Mr. [redacted], I am so sorry you feel the way you do and I will work with Revdex.com to help you.

Hello [redacted],

Mr. [redacted] brought his car to Union Auto on 10/15/2014, he requested the services shown on attached copy of estimate, he signed and...

dated the estimate and we proceeded with the work as agreed, the vehicle was finished, again he signed the final invoice and paid with a Debit card. The bank apparently only authorized $27.97 leaving an unpaid balance of $125.30 shown in attached copy credit card receipt. The cashier mistakenly understood that backwards and essentially only collecting $27.97 in cash in addition to the $27.97 that was already authorized in debit, making the total amount collected only $55.94.

The error was discovered the following morning and Mr. [redacted] was contacted with the fact that there was a balance due on his bill.

On 10/31/2014, Mr [redacted] returned to Union Auto, paid the $125.30 he owed on Debit card and was later refunded $30.00 in cash which he signed for as well.

Later that day someone presented herself as Mr. [redacted]'s wife called and claimed that she never authorized the services we performed, she was told that we agree she did not, Mr. [redacted] did in person and paid for the work himself as well. The following day, someone with the name she gave us posted a defamatory review on yelp which appeared to show that she has a great deal of respect for her husband (review capture attached), and I quote: "OF course my dumb husband sign the damn paper and use his atm charge
with pin to pay for service they did not do. I am so PISS OFF".

We work with cars and do a great job at fixing them; we sincerely apologize for the credit card mix up, frankly it is the first time a transaction comes back with partial authorization, normally it just declines it, but we certainly are no marriage counselors, so how can we help him in this case?

I will be more than happy to offer them a free Engine Oil Change service and call it resolved. What do you think?

Union Auto Service Center attempted to charge me for a replacement transmission for my car. They charged me $90 for a diagnostics test and informed me that the results showed that I needed to replace my transmission and the cost would be $2,450. My car is only 4 years old is serviced regularly which promoted me to contact Ford (the vehicle maker). I read the results of the diagnostics test to the Ford service representative. Ford swiftly informed me that no, I did not need a new transmission, the diagnostics test do not indicate that and Union Auto Service should not have told me that. I told the mechanic at Union Auto Service what Ford had told me and they told me that they had contacted Ford and I did need a new transmission. Ford had put out an extended warranty on the exact part of the vehicle that I needed fixing. So first Union Auto lied about me needing a transmission and then they lied about contacting Ford. I strongly recommend NOT doing business with Union Auto Service.
