Review: I contracted Union Mortgage Group to provide a construction loan for my new home at [redacted] Once the home was built, the construction loan was to be converted to a permanent loan. I was told that closing on the second loan would only take a couple weeks since most of the work was performed for closing on the construction loan. I was also told I would not be charged a second appraisal / inspection. Union Mortgage delayed closing on the permanent loan 10 weeks and charged me a second appraisal / inspection. Three times we had a closing date, but Union Mortgage had to postpone because they were not ready. There was poor communication between the Charlotte, NC office and the corporate office in Virginia. These delays resulted in me having to pay a minimum of an extra month's interest ($1,600) on my construction loan with nothing going towards the principle plus an extra $300 I was promised in writing I would not be charged for the extra appraisal / inspection. I have many emails supporting my claim and my closing documents to prove my claim. The individuals I worked with on this mortgage include [redacted]Desired Settlement: Because of Union Mortgage Groups poor organizational practices, multiple errors in communication between the Charlotte and corporate office and dishonest practices, my claim is for $1, 900. This is a very conservative amount as my real damages are higher.
