were approved as medically indicated. In this case, she had a deductible that was her responsibility before the insurance would start to pay. Once she notified our biller, in response to her concerns, I wrote off 50% for the services that had already been performed. When my biller reached out to notify her, she hung up and did not give us her current address to send updated statements. Not maintaining contact with us has given us limited options. We therefore sent her account to collections, not for $380, but for the reduced $180 charge. Insurance plans, copays and deductibles can be confusing. We remain available to discuss and educate about this issue.
