Unique Campus Rentals was great to me when I first contacted themThey were gracious in showing me a range of rental properties, most overpriced for the condition, but not egregiouslyThe final building they showed me was great, and the employee showing me the property told me the apartment was $a monthI was soldI had to wait until some paperwork went through before I would sign a lease, so I asked about putting down a $hold depositThey did inform me then that the $price was incorrect, that the property was closer to $My budget was $800, so I accepted, thinking it may not be a steal, but it was still a very fair priceThey said they usually only hold apartments for a week, but they would take the $and it would be no problemThey would call me if it became oneweeks went by without a callThe paperwork went through, so I called to ask for the leaseThey didn't get it to me on the Friday, despite the fact that they said they had sent it via e-mailI had to call again Monday, and they managed to get it to meI didn't get a chance to read it until that WednesdayWhen I did, the lease said it was $a monthI called to ask why and they said they never said any of those thingsThey got particularly combative when I asked if we could cancel the $payment based on the fact that they gave me incorrect information at least once, and they told me, "I'll ask, but it's probably not going to happen"They told me they didn't like what I was accusing them of, that it didn't make any sense for them to do, and that I they held it for me for "several months" when they usually only hold apartments for a weekIt had only been 5-weeksThey were trying to clear themselves of any wrongdoing via hyperboleThey later sent me an e-mail, trying to placate me, where they admitted that the person who showed me the apartment was just a maintenance worker and could have told me the wrong priceEven though that was true, the person at the office also told me a price at least $cheaper than the final price, yet they claimed neither of those things could have happened during our phone chatThe e-mail also stated I had since April 7th to clarify things, even though I hadn't even talked to them until mid MayAn entire month or moreI will admit I lost my cool just before hanging up the phone, but I never cursed at them nor even raised my voice until they accused me of trumping up the chargesI had stopped looking for apartments because I thought I had found one, only to be bait and switched and then accused of being a liarI had to make a mad scramble to find a new place, and even push back my move date because of it allI would not recommend the company to anyone, even if they feel the apartment prices are fairThey have shown a disregard for their own record keeping, often being weeks off on their dates, allow ill informed employees to give you "facts" about the apartments they are showing you, and have a general disregard for customer serviceOn the plus side, after your appointment there is a really good *** restaurant across the street

Welcome to Hell.
Renting from these people was one of the worst experiences of my life. Ray R[redacted], the landlord, is one of the single most awful human beings that has ever been brought into existence. The same week we moved in, our entire apartment flooded. There were holes in the walls when we moved in. The prior tenants' trash was scattered across the apartment. While we informed Ray of all this, he never did anything about it. Whenever we would bring up an issue to him he would beat around the bush, or tell us there was nothing he could do about it. (We ended up having to patch our own gaping holes in our walls). He is a money guzzling crook and will try to steal your money, and even after we moved we had to force him into returning our rent checks, not to mention we still have not received our security deposits back.
The woman working as the office manager is equally as horrendous. Her name is Colleen and she is just as terribly lazy as Ray and will also try her hardest to make your life a living hell, so good luck. I had three packages coming after I decided to move out, (not that I had even moved out yet when I was notified of their arrival) and she sent them back to the sender without notifying me.
Not only are the staff absolutely incapable and atrocious, (except for Laura. She's alright.) the apartment itself had so many dangers (an insane amount of mold being among many) that it would be easy to file a law suit against this company.
Hate this place. Hate these people.
To ever rent from them would be like digging your own grave, and that my friends, is a foolish thing to do. I warn you, please please please, do not waste your time with this company, No matter how affordable you think it might be, no matter how "alright" you think the apartment is, it IS NOT WORTH IT. Please. There are so many other places, DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE.
Run them into the ground.
Thank you. Please heed my warnings. And have a good day.
(NOT you Unique Campus Rentals. I hope all of your days are as terrible as you made mine.)
-A good tenant who is DONE.
