I would not recommend this company to anyone! We had pre-existing wood in half our family room and wanted to remove the carpet from the other half and replace with wood. We had a consultation and were recommended a wood that we were told would be a very close match. We understand that all wood colors vary. We were also told that we always had the possibility to later refinish the entire floor and re-stain if we later wanted a perfect match. They came and ripped up all the carpet and when the workers laid the new wood down they called me to see and asked if this is right because it was two shades darker. It looked nothing like what we were shown. (This was not a slight variation!) So I call the owner Sam and told him that it was not right and we need to replace it and he got very short and angry with me saying that I will have to pay 25% of my entire price to restock that wood, over $1000! (25% of the entire cost, not just the cost of the wood. So he's actually making money off a mistake.) And then continued to say that I WILL pay the fee because it's in the contract I signed or he will sue me and take me to court. (Within 5 minutes of our phone call, threaten to sue me.) He did not try to work with me, he offered no suggestions and then said "You think about it and then call me back." And hung up on me. When we finally got a hold of him again he still had no other options: install the darker wood, or return it and pay the restocking fee of $1000. We asked about re-finishing the entire floor after install and he said that would cost us another $2,500 and it wouldn't match anyway. (Not what we were told at the consultation.) Or his final option was to take out all of the hardwood (only 5 years old, new home) and replace the entire space for an additional $4500.
In the end we canceled the entire order and he got his $1000 restocking fee for doing nothing. We will finish this job with a more reputable company that cares about their customers and doing quality work.
I know someone will read this that was going to give him their business and will change their mind, hopefully a few people.
We replaced the carpets on the second level of our house with hardwoods via Unique Floors. Our experience was very positive and we are quite happy with the job they performed. I've been in contact with Jason and Steven to plan for the job. They are both responsive and dedicated professionals. The job took 1.5 days in total. Luis and Eduardo did great job on the floors. They had very polite manners with great flooring skills.
After the first project, we had a second project with UF for our main level area. This time existing engr hardwood got replaced with solid hardwood and porcelain tiles. Similar to the first job, they did an excellent work and provided dedicated customer service during the entire process. In addition to the folks mentioned in the first job, Peyman got involved in cases where critical decision making was needed.
We recommend UF to anyone needing flooring needs.Very good and skillful folks!
I just used this great flooring company at the beginning of the new year. I had 3 projects that I had on my to do list. Unique Floor was able to do all 3! Tile for the sun room, carpet for the 2nd floor & basement and solid hardwood for my first floor. I must admit they exceeded my expectations by a mile! I just read the other review on this site and can't understand it at all. I have recommended this company to many of my friends and 2 have used Unique and they have had the same experience. I would not use any other company for my flooring needs.
