Revdex.com:
I have reviewed
the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
Unique Motor Sports was informed just a few a days after the transaction date of June *, that: (1) I was no longer interested in the used car, (2) issue a refund of the $500. Unique Motor Sports was given adequate notice within just a few days of the initial transaction. The customer's responsibility ends there. It is the merchant's responsibility to ensure they are not keeping deposits. It is not my responsibility to ensure this dealership has adequate managerial oversight to assure deposits are refunded when a car is sold to another customer. The "too much time has passed" argument is a typical unethical business response with no legal basis. This is simply theft
In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above
Sincerely,
*** ***

This will be a very detailed and fair representation of Unique Motor Sports in [redacted].
Unique Motor Sports was not outright dishonest. You'll be able to have your chances to NOT BUY from them. They have their asking price, which they don't like to move from. What dealer does right. That's fine but there was no room for negotiation. I guess they saw me coming. I came from a few states away and hopped the [redacted] for about 45 minutes to come and see those guys for a specific car. They knew I wouldn't come 5 hours to NOT buy a car.
My BMW had a bunch of codes that were thrown in the electrical system. This was OK since they told me a guy would come to clear the codes. (first flag I ignored because I wanted the car)
They assured me over the phone after they faxed me the electrical codes report that the guy from a neighboring garage would be there to clear the codes. They all seemed pretty simple it was something with the electrical system. (2nd flag I ignored)
Then Unique got upset with me when I saw the rear-view mirror plasma particles had burst and were beginning to disperse through the mirror. They said they'd knock $60 off the price of the car but I said the mirror is $450 at least. They tell me to just get a knock off from [redacted] and they show me the web page and say no way they are taking $450 off. (3rd flag)
The car did not have any floor mats, but that's OK it was a mid-2000 car. I'll find them I figured, that's not Unique's fault right.
My mechanic here in ** goes over it ans says the belts are extremely worn I see the cracks. Had I taken my first 3 flags I would have walked away and kept searching. (But noooo, I wanted the car and my emotions led me to a shady dealership.) he tells me the bumper is OK but it's not as connected as it should be. and the washer fluid pump is hanging on by a thread, his words.....
Unique tells me that they would take $500 off the price of the car if I go with their financing. My credit is great. So I do. I didn't read the paperwork thoroughly because I was distraught and frustrated at them for not budging on the price. I'm showing you how not to buy a car emotionally and put up with dishonest dealerships like Unique. You guessed it. The $500 was not removed from the price of the car. I figured I'd already signed for the car and there was no turning back.
They do call me every couple of weeks to ask about how the car is. I always have bad news to report, between the non existent pump in the trunk, missing lug wrench in the tool case, and NON FUNCTIONING STEERING CONTROLS, no cruise no volume no nothing.
I just didn't press those buttons, I checked every seat, it worked, every light, worked, head lights tail light turn signals but I didn't turn on the dang radio and check that. They stood behind the car while I pressed every button and I thought those looks they were give were, "Wonder if he wants it enough" But they were hoping I didn't find out about that massive problem. Please just take a trip to [redacted] in [redacted] to get your performance BIMMER you've always wanted. Unique will have what you are looking for but the many flags they gave me that I chose to ignore do not have to be your reality.
**Update**
So finally 3 weeks after they told me they would have the car inspected and the tags are "in the mail" they email me and say that I have to get the car ** inspected. Then send the inspection certificate to the in home tag and title place they deal with. Yes the [redacted] operation that would have me my tags shortly.
Upside the tag and title place seems like any other. But after the problems with inspection and inspection fees, stay in your state and buy your car. IF Unique is in your state SHOP ELSEWHERE. You cannot trust them financially, or with the mechanics of the car. You are better off leaving them alone. I would have been.

[redacted] left a deposit for a Celica in June 2015 so that we could hold the car. We never heard from him again until March 2015. We will not refund being that so much time has passed.

Review: I purchased a car from this dealership. At the time of purchase certain repairs were promised and an inspection sticker was given. Within 24 hours of receipt of the vehicle the check engine light came on. After 2 trips to the used car dealership's mechanic the seats were never repaired & the check engine light only cleared. It always comes on again within 24 hours. I took the car to a local [redacted] dealership and discovered the transmission is faulty. I was originally told the car had been purchased from the same used car dealership earlier that year but returned (I was told a story about a son not getting good grades). Clearly that [redacted] knew there was issues with the car. I believe the used car dealership also knew and intentionally sold the car clearing the fault each time it was needed.Desired Settlement: I would like the car to be returned and a refund given.

Review: Purchased a 1999 Porsche 911 from "[redacted]" at Unique Motorsports. Said car ran rough, clear title will include shipping.

Car was shipped only after I had to set up shipping and pay for it. [redacted] said refund will be issued. It never was.

Car was shipped to me missing parts that were on the car when purchased. I have contacted the State Police in NY about this.

Car was said to have a miss. I called their in house mechanic and he stated that a compression check was done and cylinder 3 was at 0 psi.

[redacted] stated engine in good mechanical condition. electrical problem.

[redacted] received money from credit union and stopped all help after check cleared.Desired Settlement: Refund of shipping and compensation for damage motor and removed parts.

Review: My husband and I were considering to purchase a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500. There were many problems with the vehicle such as a major radiator leak, ripped seat, bald tires, driver side mirror broken. They said that they were going to be fixing all of this before they sold the truck to anyone. We decided to put a $1,000 down payment which we told was REFUNDABLE if we decided to not purchase the vehicle. When we went back to the dealership we noticed that the things they said would be fixed, were still not fixed. They kept saying "oh we'll get it fixed". We decided to sit down to see what the numbers came out to for a finance payment, and realized that the truck was not even worth it. We asked for our $,1000 down payment back and he refused to give it to us.Desired Settlement: I would like my $1,000 down payment back. I never signed for the car and was told it was refundable if I did not want to purchase it.

Sincerely,

Review: On June *, 2015, I allowed Unique Motor Sports to take a $500 deposit (fully refundable) to "hold" the car until I could go see it (I am from out of state). I was very clear that the deposit would be refunded to me in the event I did not purchase the car. In fact, I had them send me an e-mail stating "Your $500 deposit is fully refundable if you choose not to buy the car." (reference email 6/*/2015 2:41pm). That same email included a digitally photographed receipt of a credit card transaction as printed on thermal paper from a credit card processor device. Shortly thereafter, I told them I was no longer interested in purchasing the car and that I needed the $500 deposit to be immediately refunded. They agreed. I have not yet received the refund. After several contact attempts I was finally able to contact the owner who basically told me two things: 1) there's nothing he can do about it, 2) he tried to get my credit card company to pay the $500 by having me dispute it. All of his excuses are unacceptable as his behavior is simply theft. Case law regarding the email backs up my position. Also, it is evident the owner is not competent to run a business as they allow debts to go unaccounted for. In this case, since the car was not sold to me but to someone else even while my "hold" deposit was still there, they should have had a system by which all deposits were automatically flagged for refund. The lack of a system ethically refunding deposits is negligence.

Notes:

- I never signed any contract with them whatsoever. I never visited their store location.

- Only an email contract exists written by one of their employees citing their refund policy, which they did not follow.Desired Settlement: I demand that my $500 be refunded immediately by certified check, personal check, or [redacted]. All methods of payment must be verifiable and trackable to include means of postage (e.g. certified mail). I will not accept excuses such as: "check is in the mail", "we sent it but you must have lost it", "insufficient funds", etc. There are several ways (e.g. [redacted], certified check via certified mail) to ensure positive payment. Additionally, Unique Motor Sports and/or the owner must pay for any associated legal fees and/or costs associated with collection of the $500 deposit.
