Review: I try to be fair to people, in the hope they are fair to me... But I had a really, really bad experience. Took a pair of high quality boots, to be re-soled and re-heel, ~$80... Not cheap!!... $80 would gone a fair way to buying a new pair...The owner assured me he'd do a great jobAfterwards, I wore them 3-4 times over three-four weeks, then the sole on one boot started to come apart from the boot itself. They clearly had not glued the sole to the boot properly. I took it back to the shop, and they kept fobbing me off with excuses, and would not fix the problem. I feel they ripped me off...Desired Settlement: I would like a refund

Hello, my name is [redacted] and I am the owner of Unique Shoe Repairs Shop. I would like to respond to the complaint that one of my customers filed stating that I ripped his $80 off by doing a poor job on his shoe that eventually needed a make-over. First, there has been a huge miscommunication. The part that fell off is not the part where I fixed. I was initially asked to repair his half-sole and the heel and those parts are still in-tact and good. The part that actually fell off and complaint about was the 'welf that connected the upper to the outsole. The welt belongs to the manufacturer's responsibility. People come to us with opened toe shoes, and we also do welt fixing jobs here too, but that's not what the man came into our store for- he came in for the half-sole and heels, and the welt was fine back then. I tried to explain this matter to the man but my English was inadequate for him to understand the entire shoe building process. Second, I found the receipt that belongs to this case, and the date was in October 29, not December 10 as he stated, and the amount was also not $80, but $70. I have attached a copy of the receipt. I have been in this business for over 20 years, and never been in a situation like this. Usually we show the end product to the customers and they okay it and leave the store with happy faces. This man also okayed the shoes and left our store with a happy face but I never expected him to return with a complaint after 2monthes, which the complaint was even his mistaken.
