Review: I bought some things at a half price sale, but the clerk charged my credit card week A clerk charged my credit card full price instead of half price.(Everything was on sale at half price.) I did not notice this for a week, and returned to Unique. The manager refused to give me credit on my charge card or refund the money. He said he couldn't do anything.I was charged $29.95, instead of $14.50.I am 78 years old, and need the money. Can you help me get a refund or the money put back on my credit card?Thank you so much.Desired Settlement: a check for $14,50 would be fine.
Review: I visited the unique thrift store on 7/7/15. Their corporate office issued me a 50% off (happy birthday) coupon to be used within fourteen days of my birthday (7/5) that was good on your entire purchase. When I checked out at the store the coupon refused to go through. After speaking with the manager, Mr. Nick D[redacted] he informed me that it was my responsibility as the customer to contact their IT department. After threatening me and my elderly mother; Mr. D[redacted] told us that we are not getting the discount and we are not leaving today with the items. I placed two "e-mail requests" into their IT department from the parking lot and received no response. We purchased the items for full price under duress that Mr. D[redacted] told us he would place the items back on the shelf after a few days. Unique Thrift Store issued the coupon and they are responsible for ensuring that it can be redeemed. After two days I received an "updated" e-mail with a different coupon replacing my original one only allowing 50% off clothing only. Then just yesterday their IT department e-mailed me to tell me that the problem should be fixed. This is unacceptable and to put it bluntly fraud. You cannot grant a coupon to a buyer and then not come through on your own sale. It is not the buyers responsibility to make sure your technical items work right. And to further accuse the customer of trying to get something over on "you" and accuse them of being a "criminal" is beyond reproach. I told Mr. D[redacted] that I would be calling the Union, NJ police department to report fraud and he then said he would call his "general manager". After waiting a while he came back with the same response, no discount can be issued and ended the conversation that "you are taking up too much of my time in my store, make your decision and get out... I have to go back to work..." Unacceptable and to be embarrassed like we did something wrong is absurd.Desired Settlement: I am seeking a refund or corporate store credit for the original 50% coupon that the store issued. The purchase price was $104.11 and we would like $52.05 returned. We do not plan on using the coupon or patronizing the Union Unique ever again.
