Review: This company reorganized and is now called United Adjusters. My auto was repossessed by this asset recovery agency. When I called their office to find out where they were, so that I could collect the items from my vehicle, the customer service representative was exceedingly rude and explained to me that they only allow owners of the property to collect their property via an appointment, and they may or may not grant an appointment. . .based upon their discretion. . .on a day to day basis, but, of course, they will continue to charge you a daily fee of $15 until such time as they grant you an appointment. This seems completely unfair and causes the consumer additional unnecessary fees. Since the consumer has no control of when they can get their items, the Asset Recovery agency can rack up erroneous charges just by "putting off" a consumer for a few days. If they do this to every customer, this could add up to thousands of dollars a year that they had no right to collect. This practice seems like a scam or a "shake down" they are perpetrating on the consumer because their car was repossessed. It's like there is an assumption at that point, that the consumer doesn't deserve any rights. or aDesired Settlement: I would like a refund of fees charged to me for "holding my belongings" beyond the first day that I attempted to retrieve them. I would also like a modification of the policy for future consumers. This company should not be able to collect money from consumers they had no right to.
