Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I absolutely was not told that the quote was $and that the work had not yet been completedI was told the work was finished and the total was $which I stated in my original complaint Sincerely, [redacted]
The original estimate for $176.96 diagnosis of 2 hours was given to [redacted] which she agreed to. After the authorized two hours was spent on the diagnosis additional time was needed. At that time [redacted] was called and informed that it was not her fuel pump has she had suspected but was in the...
Anti-theft system and we would need an additional 2 hours at $85/hr to continue the diagnosis, which [redacted] agreed to. After the diagnosis was completed [redacted] was called to inform her the cause of her problem was in the ignition lock cylinder, and to ensure an accurate diagnosis we had tried a known working cylinder during the allowed diagnosis time. She was then informed that the total bill to repair the vehicle was $655.48. The repair had not been completed at this time, and this was the estimate for the complete repair. [redacted] agreed and asked us to store the vehicle while she gathered the funds to settle the bill. We stored the vehicle until the beginning of January at no additional charge to the customer. Throughout the entire time the vehicle was at our shop [redacted] did not voice and concerns over the cost of the repair, and was at no time was liable for any amount other than what she had authorized. I am sorry for an confusion there may have been, but the work was not completed until the customer said she would get the money to pay for the job. Had she asked us not to proceed, or said that the bill was too high we would have left the vehicle as it was and the customer could have had it towed from the shop at that point.
