Review: My custom-made sisal rug has been completely ruined by the incorrect process of "soak and dry" that this company used to clean it. I have learned through consulting with a number of other rug cleaners that this method is inappropriate for sisal fiber. They have all told me that they NEVER use wet-shampooing, steam-cleaning, or any other water-based methods on sisal because such methods lead to shrinking and puckering and distortion of the fiber and cause the dye to run. This is what happened to my rug. The pigment on the border is almost completely washed out on one side and on the reverse side, the color has run in streaks and no longer is part of the border. My rug is no longer reversible. In addition, the once-glowing rug fiber is now dull and no longer intact. Over time, its shape has shifted and it continues to expand and become more and more distorted. What was once a perfect rectangle is now a mishapen thing that bows out in the middle on both sides. The proprietor of the company [redacted] (###-###-####[redacted]) offered to clean the rug again and attempt to re-dye the border, even though I have informed him that the "soak and dry" method was what ruined the rug in the first place. I have repeatedly requested a full refund of $393.50 for the improper cleaning that was performed. For months now, he has told me that the "check is in the mail." After numerous phone calls and repeated promises, the check still has not arrived.Desired Settlement: A full refund of $393.50 since the company used the wrong cleaning method on my sisal rug and ruined it.
