Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/08/03) */
In response to Case #XXXXXXXX, per the invoice provided by the contractor that repaired the damaged carpet, the total due for the various items that were required to repair the damaged carpet was $490.00. There were multiple things that needed...

to be addressed on the carpet due to stains (some pet stains), carpet restoration and reverse dye, along with a multi odor treatment for carpet, pad, and subfloor. The balance due in the amount of $390.93 is correct and due the Property.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: UDR contracts to provide a functional 2 bed 2 bath apartment and that is what I am required to pay for.  For the period 1-9 June UDR provided only 1 bathroom and I should therefore only have to pay for same.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

We understand [redacted] concerns and appreciate the feedback, we apologize [redacted] was not satisfied with our answer.   We want our residents to enjoy their time living in our community and providing quality service is of the utmost importance to us.  Unfortanately, at the time [redacted] move in, he added a parking space which resulted in additional rent due.  This is the discrepancy in the amount due and we are unable to refund money that is not owed.

Dear [redacted]The current resident [redacted] applied for an apartment on April 18th, 2016. Upon reserving the home, [redacted] was given a Move In summary and Checklist listing the total amount due on Resident’s move in date (May 19th 2016) of $899.68 (to be provided in cashier’s check or...

certified funds). Resident subsequently changed the move in date to May 20th, 2016 and the move-in amount was revised to $853.55.  On May 19th, 2016, Resident paid online a total of $834.18 resulting in a balance of $19.37 on his move in date of May 20th, 2016. At time of move in, the assisting associate explained that we are unable to accept partial payments for move in and suggested that Resident obtain a money order. Resident escalated the issue to property management on duty and it was explained that all residents are required to provide full move in payments in certified funds and that we would not be able to make any exceptions. Pursuant to the above response, property management is not liable for any reimbursement and will not provide any disputed amounts.
