Re: complaint #[redacted]
Thank you for calling me. I am sending you this email with
an update on the problems with my heat pump installed by United [redacted] Services, and they are also called United Home Services. I did let them know I received the email stating that I won't have to pay for labor for 2 years. I don't see how they can put a limit on fixing it since all the issues are from the installation. It's already been a year and although they have the air conditioning working right now they don't know what will happen when it is switched back to heat and then back to AC. I don't understand why they won't replace it with a new system, which is what I am paying for. Now I am paying for a system that has had to have so many things replaced and they have had to rewire it 3 times. I have no confidence that they know what they are doing.
They were here June 5th to repair the AC and
again on June 11th. They replaced something on the 5th
and rewired the system for the 3rd time on the 11th. They
also told me they want to see what happens when I have to switch back to heat
and then again to the AC. This is why they said I won’t have to pay labor for 2
years. They are trying to get the unit running but now there’s a limit on how
long until I have to pay them to come out.
I was told the owner of the company would call me about
compensation for all the problems but he hasn’t called me. When I again questioned why the owner hasn’t called I was
told I should write him a letter. I take it from that comment that he doesn’t
have time for me. I have told them numerous times that I should be compensated for all the problems. I have also complained that they are the ones that damaged the system and they should replace it with a new one or give me my money back. I have no guarantee that there won't be more problems because of the damage that they caused, but now there is a 2 year limit to fix anything. I wouldn't be having all these problems if they had installed it correctly.
I purchased what was supposed to be an energy efficient heat
pump. They damaged the unit installing it so it hasn’t worked right for the
past year. This caused the system to run in emergency heat almost all winter,
so this cost me more than I have ever paid since I’ve lived here the past 26
years. I have asked them to compensate me for this but haven’t received
anything. I also had to take off work every time they came here to work on it.
They haven’t compensated me for anything. I haven't received an electric bill showing how it's affecting it since June 11th, so I don't know if it's running as it should be or not. It's supposed to cut my energy bills but so far they are higher than they ever have been.
I told them I wanted the system replaced with a new one
since that’s what I’m paying for and they are the ones that damaged it, but
they refused. I then told them I wanted a refund and for them to come take it
out and they also refused. I feel like I ordered a new heat pump but what I have
is a unit that has needed constant repair and they don’t know if the issue is
fixed. They have told me every time they were here that it's fixed, so why should I believe there won't be further problems.
I don’t think it’s fair to have no option but to keep
something that they broke and keep repairing. This company has been a nightmare since they installed my heat pump. I hope there is something you can do to help.
