Review: I took my car to United Muffler on 12/12/2015 to have a exhaust hanger welded back on. I checked in with female service writer when I arrived and explained what I would like done. She took information down and took specific information and requested that I put the hanger in the floor board of passenger side of car because she said the mechanics needed specific instructions and that is were she would tell them the piece would be that needed to be welded back on. The mechanic pulled car into garage and I went to waiting area to wait. I went to service writer and requested to see the car when they got it raised up in air on rack to talk with staff about future upgrade to exhaust. The owner (Sean Jessie) came out to discuss upgrade and spoke few words and his cell phone rang and he took the call while in mid conversation with me. He hung up and ask me to come back and look at my exhaust where there was a hole. I explained to him the hole is where the hanger needed to be reattached by welding on which was what I originally ask for. He said okay and ask his staff to get his welder and I left the shop area. Then I waited and I heard my car start and he was revving the engine to the extreme. I stepped outdoors and he came around the corner of the building revving up the engine more and spinning a wheel in my car. He got out of the car and said that it sounded good meaning the car exhaust. I said "do what" and he said man that sounds good. I ask what he did to the exhaust and he said he had straight piped it meaning that he cut my mufflers off. We exchanged words and he instructed for me to pay the bill and leave. I tried to ask him what we were going to do but he insisted that I pay and leave. He made no effort to discuss what he had done without my permission. I paid the bill and the female service writer apologized and admitted that this happens all of the time. The car is a rare vehicle and is a 1 of a 1 car that is valuable. The exhaust system to replace is approximately $1000 plus shipping. He is a Virginia State Inspection site and should have known what he did to the exhaust system can cause me to be ticketed and he did it without my permission. All I had ask for was the hanger to be reattached and now my exhaust system is ruined and I can not drive the car this way and risk being ticketed or damaging my car. This could cause engine damage to my car. I have the receipt and at the bottom is a place for a signature in which I never signed or was asked to sign. When I looked under my car when I got home I also noticed that they had sprayed painted underneath my car.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to purchase a new exhaust system from [redacted] for the car. This is the only way to get the rare car back to original. I would not want them to put it on after the poor customer service and disrespect to my car. The exhaust system costs $1000 plus shipping.

Review: On Wednesday, January 29,2014, my 17-year-old son and I took his 1993 Ford F150 truck to United Muffer Autocare because it seemed that there was a problem with the truck's brakes. The brake pressure seemed to be lower than it had, the truck did not seem to accelerate as it had been doing, and there was a strong odor of brake fluid. We told this information to the counter person and to a mechanic, who also drove the truck a short distance himself. We were told we would have to leave the truck to be worked on the next day. When we went to pick up the truck we were charged $314.46 - approx $223 of this labor charges. We left and noticed that the truck was operating WORSE that it had been when we left it. It did not accelerate nearly as well as it had the day before. We returned it to the shop, telling them the problems we brought it in for had NOT been resolved. The owner actually told my son "some of my mechanics are is!". We left it again. When we went to pick it up again we were charged $261 MORE. We should not have to pay for the mechanics mistakes!Desired Settlement: I would like to have the second payment of $261 refunded to us. Our first payment of $314 was to pay for them to correct the problems we told them about and that the mechanic found out for himself on his test drive. It is not our fault that they replaced the wrong things and did not fix the problem we brought it in to have repaired. We did not get what we paid for the first time and should NOT have to pay more to get the repairs done right at their second try!
