Review: United Payment Services is our credit card processing company for which we had averaged approximately $3000 per month for the last 2 years. One of our clients decided to use their credit card to pay a 50% order deposit of $334,696 for furniture and related services. United Payment Services Risk Department would only authorize the release of 1/2 of the monies now and the remaining 1/2 after the completion of the project. We tried to explain our business to United Payment Services and the need for the 50% deposit to be used on deposits required for the new furniture. Their response was that was not their issue and the release of funds would only be done in this manner. We said this was unacceptable and requested United Payment Services to credit back the charges to the client's credit card and credit back to our company almost $13,000 of charges they withdrew from our bank account. We asked the manager of the Risk Department to send us his findings in writing and he replied NO. After several days of our client not receiving the credit back to their card we followed up with the Risk Department for status. The client credit card was credited after 4 days of processing. We then contacted United Payment Services Customer Service Department for resolution of getting the $13,000 of processing fees credited back to our company since no money was ever transferred into our account. Customer Service stated they would only provide a credit of $3,748.60. We explained our displeasure and asked the representative to put his findings and resolution in writing. He stated NO because we would use that information against his company. We asked for his manager's name and phone number. After continued requests the customer service person finally gave us the manager's name, however, no return call from the manager.Desired Settlement: Full refund of the service fees United Payment Services withdrew from our bank account.

We understand this merchants frustration. These fees were actually rendered by The card issuer and not United. We are currently working with the Issuer to get this money refunded to the merchant. It is a process that is taking place as we speak.
