At this time he disclosed to us that he had hired another Plumbing Company to perform an Isolation Test and they found a leak under the foundation. This was done before our company ever knew about this property. The homeowner also disclosed that the initial Plumbing  company charged him S800.00 for their Isolation Test. After the first Plumbing Company found their leak, the homeowner hired a second Plumbing Company to make the repair. After the repairs were made by the second Plumbing Company, they realized that their were other leaks. The homeowner also disclosed to us that the first Plumbing Company did not want to return to test for other leaks. This is the time we came into the picture the third Plumbing Company and performed an Isolation Test and located two more leaks.  We came to find out that the leaks repaired by the second Plumbing Company were done without a Plumbing Permit and were not within code. We then called the City of Portland plumbing Inspector to investigate the situation. The Inspector found that these plumbing  repairs were not up to code and no permits were acquired. After this, the homeowner hired another, the fourth, Plumbing Company with plumbing permit to repair the leaks that we found. Once the fourth Plumbing Company acquired a plumbing permit, it became their responsibility for this job.

I am rejecting this response because:
United Plumbing Company continues to disregard the fact that they did not complete the full isolation test for which they charged me $450. As well, after rescheduling an appointment with me to compete the test, they did not show on the day scheduled or call and have ignored my repeated calls. The Revdex.com should not endorse a company that shows this lack of professionalism.
Also, I would expect that the Revdex.com would admonish any business that threatens a consumer who contacts the Revdex.com and submits a complaint against that business. In my specific instance, United Plumbing Company has stated they intend to levy upon me an unauthorized charge for $125 for responding to my legitimate complaint.
I still fully expect my $450 refund.

TEXAS STATE BOARD OF PLUMBING EXAMINERS 929 EAST 4151 STREET- P.O. BOX 4200 AUSTIN, TEXAS 78765

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
United Plumbing Company, herein referred to as the Company,
was hired to perform an isolation test on my home which was completed on only
half of the building drain system due to inclement weather on the day of the
test preventing the workers from gaining access to the roof. Full payment for
the isolation test was requested and paid ($450), and the worker ([redacted])
guaranteed the remaining portion of my home drain pipes testing would be
completed when the weather permitted. No plumbing work other than the isolation
test was requested from the Company. No City permit or other approval was
required for this testing.
I called the Company within a few days and [redacted] scheduled an
appointment to return and finish the job. On the day of the rescheduled
appointment the Company did not show and did not return my multiple calls. As a
result, this caused significant inconvenience to me. To-date, I have received
no follow-up call or other correspondence from the Company. A company that does
not complete their work as promised or respond appropriately to multiple
customer calls, is not one that should garner the prestigious Revdex.com endorsement.
Finally, it is unfortunate that the Company response lacked
the dignity, honesty, and integrity to resist the impulse to irresponsibly
inject statements about race in, I suppose, an attempt to influence the
actions, attitudes, or outcome of this complaint.
Regards,
Marc Stearman
