United Racing Engines Reviews (33)

Review: On the 11/10/15 I received a quote from Joseph W[redacted] to build a new race/ street engine for my 1966 Chev Impala in New Zealand, so after some searches on the internet and a New Zealand bank check I wire transferred the 70% deposit to them, Came up as R[redacted] racing engines on the bank account details. Since then I have only received one email back from Joseph saying he will check with the build shop on the progress of my engine this is 10 days after my 65 day build time.

I have rung the office over 45 times and never got hold of anyone and the answer phone is full and will not allow anymore voice mail. I email everyday and have never received another email since.

Now I have found your web site ( Revdex.com ) and all these other complaints against Mike R[redacted] and United Racing Engines, clearly this company are scan artists and have been robbing people all over the world, how do I get my money back $12456.00 and how can this man be stopped?????Desired Settlement: I would like then to reply to my emails and refund my money and would like this company shut down.

$12456.00 less 15% cancellation fee

Review: I bought a new engine and had 1200miles on it when 2 values broke . Had my mechanic check it out and called URE to help them with thousands in repairs with pulling engine and shipping there and back. They talked to may person to perform the work after they sent in replacement valves and cam. I sent them his bill of $735.00 in March 2015 after lots of email to [redacted] they agreed to pay me on May 15 check to be processed in 5-7 business days . This is June19 2015. They do not answer emails or return calls . next step is my attorneys will contact the [redacted] for interstate fraud. I just want what is right.Desired Settlement: My $735.00 Bill paid

Business

Response:

High Performance engines because of the nature of their use do not typically carry any warrantee however URE offers its customer a warrantee they can purchase to cover the parts on theircustom engine. The URE warrantee purchase by the customer covers only parts and makes no allowances for any labor claim. The customer was provided parts for his engine as stipulated bythe warrantee. His demand for further compensation of labor costs is outline specifically as not covered. In a bid for goodwill and to maintain the relationship with this customer URE has now provided the customer with the requested reimbursement of labor costs on this incident. This was not an obligation of URE and in no way admits any liability on the part of URE. We do hope this brings this incident to a close and maintains our favorable rating with the Revdex.com.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

I recently purchased the 1142 horsepower blown 572 engine. Received the engine as promised & it was really nice. The car wasn't actually ready for engine to be installed so it was a few months before it was installed. It ran & sounded good but there was an issue with it. When I called United racing engines & explained the problem they were very quick to resolve the matter & help with any questions I had. They decided it would be best to ship engine back to make sure there was no other problems. They sent a crate, took the engine back & completely fixed the engine & returned it to me at absolutely no cost to me. They always did everything they always said they would do. Engine is now installed in car & runs great, sounds good! I would not hesitate to do business with United Racing Engines. They are very helpful with any questions or any problems that may occur & their engine is really awesome!

Great Co to deal with. Engine runs as expected. Lee is very help full in advice and is always prompt at returning call. I would definitely recommend United Racing Engines to anyone looking for a quality engine. Will deal with them again

Over the past 20+ years I've done business with a number of companies, and I can honestly say that URE (United Racing Engines) is on top of my list as one of the most professional, and honest businesses I've ever worked with.

I'm writing this review for two reasons, first to give [redacted] (builder), [redacted] (customer service) and team the credit they deserve for not only building awesome/reliable turn-key motors, but also their level integrity and support at all times (pre-sale, during build, after delivery).

The second reason for this write up is to possibly save someone the grief that comes from a lost investment due to doing business with the wrong company based on a flashy Web page, or YouTube videos used as a hook. Yes, I lost an engine and significant cash because of this very reason.

It took three years before I could start searching for an engine again. I called a number of engine builders from coast to coast and was very disappointed in the responses I was getting. If they didn’t rush me off the phone, they quoted me a price that was clearly meant for the celebrities. I finally got in touch with URE, and after talking with [redacted], I felt very positive about their business. I then talked with URE’s general manager/builder [redacted], and he assured me that he could deliver the engine package that I was looking for in 6 weeks, AND at a VERY reasonable price. I decided to do business with URE, and they were there to answer questions throughout the build. I could always get a hold of them on the phone, and always received responses to my emails. Excellent customer service!

Well, I received my engine a few days early, and was very impressed by their packaging, documentation, labeling, and of course the motor in form of a procharged 434ci SBC.

That was over 3 years ago, motor is still running strong, and I still get the best customer support whenever I call them with any questions. Based on that, I’m going back for a 383 stroker that will go in my new “old” daily driver.

Simply stated, URE is a world class operation, and I highly recommend them to anyone who’s looking for a crate motor!

Review: On 7/7/15 I sent my first payment of $2182.00 to lock in an agreed total price of $25,821.00 for a custom built motor. I made additional payments: 7/20/15 $3000.00, 8/19/15 $4000.00, 9/21/15 $5000.00, 11/12/15 $6100.00, for a total that URE collected of $20,282.00. The final payment he said was due upon his shipment of the motor which was supposed to be delivered on January 11, 2016. He has not returned any emails, calls etc. I never received my motor I want all my money back.Desired Settlement: I want all my money back.

Review: Original purchase on invoice 2-2015 paid n full US$ 13706.46

Advised on receipt delivery would be May 2015 ... On delivery being missed advised new date of August 2015.

Since August I have not been able to have my calls returned or email answered.. Effectively the company will not acknowledge the non supply of motor end transmission..

At this stage I am willing as per my latest correspondence toURE to accept the cancellation fee, having my money returned..Desired Settlement: Refund all money paid in full minus the cancellation fee

Review: I had them rebuild my race engine 2 years ago. I have called and emailed them to pick up my engine. A Joseph emailed me back and said he had forwarded the message to [redacted] the owner. That was last month. I have called and left more emails but no one will contact me. Not even Joseph.Desired Settlement: I would like my engine. To have someone contact me.

Review: Hi,

We have paid 70% for a car engine to be built. The contract states that the engine was estimated to have been completed on 28 July 2015. We have made several attempts with this company who have apologized claiming that they have e-mailed us a status update when we have not received any communication.

We have now contacted the company on 5 occasions we have also tried to phone the company however it goes direct to message bank.Desired Settlement: To resolve this issue we would like to know when the engine is going to be ready. We have a car that is being built and we may be charged storage fees unless we have a definitive date of completion.

Response:

We have been experiencing some delays due to back orders on certain parts. To our customer I am personally going to find out the situation with your build and will call you myself. I have your number and will follow up with an email update as well. I am very sorry our sales department has failed to return your call. I know busy is no excuse and I have been brought in for just these reasons. You can count on a call asap. I am sure your engine is complete to the point that the shop has been able to reach and waiting. Our apologies. [redacted] - URE Customer Service

Review: I cancelled an engine order on July 5th 2015. The cancellation was received and I awaited my refund of payments minus the 15% cancellation fee. The engine price was &16972. I put down $1697.20 and an additional $2000 for a total $3697.20. the cancellation fee is $2545.80. I am owed $1151.40. I have had numerous phone calls and a long email trail with [redacted] (sales dept). He neer provides updates unless I call. Email response is poor and they never call back. They first tried to tell me I was owed no money because I only put down $1697.20. I then told him and send him copies of both checks (1697.20 + 2000) and he acknowledged I was owed $1151.40. This is documented on email and he asked for my mailing address to send the check refund. This was in August. On September 18th I asked again where my refund is and to date, have not received a response. I can send you the entire email chain. Joseph said he passed the refund information to the billing department numerous times and he contacted the owner. I even told them I would be filing a complaint with the Revdex.com and it has had no effect. I want my refund back as per the contract that was signed and they have acknowledged it is owed to me.Desired Settlement: I want my refund as agreed to as per contract and acknowledged by URE sales department representative [redacted]

Review: I purchased an engine package from United Racing Engines back in 2012 and had it shipped to South Africa,. Late last year I had completed the project and had some technical issues. I tried to get hold of URE via direct telephone line and email.

The direct telephone line constantly goes to voice recording with the promise of returning the call. But I've been trying since October 2015 and cannot get through once. I did manage to get an email response once but the matter was handed over to their technical dept in January and I was told that I will be attended to once their pc was repaired. Its been two months since and I have received no feedback regarding my request for technical assistance and engine build details. Not even acknowledgement that they have received my email. It is so frustrating. I even called several businesses in the Glendale area directly from South Africa to assist me in getting in touch with these guys. In the meantime my car is standing. Please assist me in getting them to call me or hopefully they read this somehow and respond. I live in Africa and even down here we have better service. I am dumbfounded really. When I initially purchased the engine I had great communication. But their after sales service leaves a lot to be desired. I feel stranded as they have all my build details and I require that info as well as some technical advice.Desired Settlement: Just for them to open line of contact via email and to keep it open not send me an email and then switch off for two months without responding to any further emails.

Or to answer their telephone line.

Review: Purchased a motor and was told they used no foreign made parts. The engine failed and we learned that not only was foreign parts used but also the wrong parts were used. Have called and e-mailed numerous times without a response.Desired Settlement: Refund for motor.

Review: Orderd in may 26 2015 5600.00 on credit card since then very hard to contact anyone and when I do hear anything its by email only have called and requested for phone call no call as of yet the original estiment date of completion was Aug 18 since then dates given for certain things to be complete and shipping dates come and gone and nothing so far given excuses like its been really hot running 2 wks behind thunder storm knocked power off be in touch soon nothing as to completion of engine build which I have requested days given as to any progress come and gone and still in dark as to anythingDesired Settlement: Problem with order resolved do not trust sending them remaining balance of about 2300.00

United Racing Engines was the best choice I made. I had an engine built "on time payments." This gave me more time to tweek, {make changes} to the motor. The customer service was unbelievable. Very knowledgeable, and very professional. In 12 months, there were many phone calls made. Every single one was as good as the first. I would recommend U.R.E. very highly. The motor was everything they said it would be and more. "Keep up the good work guys"

Review: I order a motor from them back 6-22-2015 estimated build time was about 55 days . now were going into December and still no motor just more excuses. The other problem is that my warranties are running out . I purchased a new transmission from another company based upon the estimated build time that united racing engines told me.If i'm having problem now I can only imagine if I had a warranty issue.Desired Settlement: Finish the job

524 torque engine from URE this motor is fantastic to me its like a sleeper I put it into a 34 ford hot rod and can drive like my grandmother all day long push that throttle and it turns into a monster and yes be carefull it will snap your neck it is a real head turner.

Review: On April 4, 2015 I ordered a custom built LS engine and paid a $12,000.00 deposit. On October 13, 2015 I finalized the specification for the engine with United Racing Engines so the parts could be ordered and the engine built. On October 15, 2015 when I asked how long it would take to complete the engine I got no response. On October 16, 2015 I requested a refund for my deposit. On October 23, 2015 I received an email stating the refund would be processed. On October 27, 2015 I received an email stating the refund would be processed over the next business day. The refund has not been processed and United Racing Engines has stopped communicating with me.Desired Settlement: Return $12,000.00 deposit.

I payed more than $12,600 for an engine that ran only about 2000 miles, never raced. It suffered massive damage from what my mechanic thinks was the valves touching the pistons. U.R.E is very hard to deal with because they've seldom answered my phone calls and e-mail response is spotty. The warranty strongly protects then, offering the consumer no easy recourse. So far the've provided no help to defray costs of repairs even though still within the warranty period. I'm sorry I ever sent them any money.

Review: Ordered engine 5/2015 after numerous emails and calls requested product or a refund I have yet to receive either. At this point I want my money back. I was promised product in 55 days.Desired Settlement: I want the 70% I paid down. I no longer desire to conduct business with a company that has failed me for almost a year.

I am very pleased with my 557HP "neck breaker" 383 engine from U.R.E. Thanks to Lee for all the good service and info. My engine was installed last May in Wa State, I drove to my home in Meridian Idaho, arriving home late, I was told the next day that even trying to be quiet, I woke the neighborhood :) Now everytime I start the engine in my driveway half the neighborhood turns out. My neighbors all love the sound. I do however have one older than me "coot" across the street (he is 71, I aqm 70), we are the oldest in the area, he claims that even when I am trying to hold it down, I shatter and knock the caulking out of the windows (can't tell if he is serious, or joking. I am loving it tho. Thanks again to U.R.E.
