Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/08/04) */ United Road is aware of the situation involving an independent subcontractor that provides servicesWe are currently working with the claimant to amicably resolve the situation

On June 12, I spoke with MrA***, I explained that while I received the executed release he submitted, he failed to include proof of ownership as the letter I included with the release form indicated was necessary I further explained that I had sent him written correspondence
explaining the same MrA*** agreed to send the required documents The following day I learned that MrA*** had sent a fax later on 06/12/ However, MrA*** did not send a copy of the vehicle title or current registration as I explained were the only acceptable documents It appears that he sent a receipt for a *** ** *** vehicle sticker While this is not typically suitable as proof of ownership, I have accepted it as such.Unfortunately, United Road like most companies has procedures that must be followed I have requ***ed a check in the amount agreed upon be prepared and sent to MrA*** I expect he should receive it next week

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/05/15) */
Contact Name and Title: *** ***
Contact Phone: Director of Admin
Contact Email: ***@unitedroadtowing.com
On 2/26/Mr*** redeemed his vehicle from the impound; however, there were additional parts remaining thought to belong to
his vehicleURT applied for a Junking Certificate for those partsWhen Mr*** contacted URT regarding the administrative error, we began working with him and the Illinois Secretary of State to resolve the issue going back to January
URT has done everything possible to resolve the issue, but it is up to the Secretary of State to make the correction
As of 5/14/Mr*** has all of the paperwork that can be provided to assist in this matter
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, 2015/05/18) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
While I do now have the paperwork, it took five months to receive and this is after I was told that URT was handling itI made multiple attempts (documented in writing) to contact URT and the Secretary of State to check the status of my title before being sent the paperwork so I could handle it myselfIn addition to the time this has taken and the lack of response for requested information, I've been stuck with a vehicle that is depreciating, now has a junk title showing on its history devaluing it even further, and according to the Secretary of State, of questionable legality should I be pulled overAs previously discussed, there were no parts scrapped from my vehicle as it was returned with every single original part plus a number of parts from other vehiclesAlso, I did not own the vehicle at the time of the tow or recovery from URT, but purchased and registered it about a month laterUltimately, a great deal of my vehicle's value has been lost and a great deal of my time has been spent dealing with a clerical issue created by URT
Final Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2015/05/28) */
I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused; however, I am unable to get the title voided because I do not have possession of the vehicleUnfortunately, the Secretary of State requires an inspection to void the title (even ones due to a clerical error) and you must physically bring the vehicle to themOnce that is done they should take all of the paperwork and void the junk certificate and reinstate the original title
Again, I understand this has been a long process (from February until now), but we have done the best we couldI tried repeatedly to get this resolved by the Secretary of State directly, but was unable to do soI sent all of the paperwork they said was required as well as the check needed
