I have waited a long time to write this review because recalling my moving experience puts me in a bad moodI chose this company simply because of the high rating on www.moverreviews.com, which is a BIG mistakeThe company must have hired some people to write those good reviews, because my experience tells the truth [redacted] , the sales person, was very nice and responsive, UNTIL your stuff was on their truckFrom that point on, he disappearedNo answering phone call and no email repliesHe would tell you everything you want to hear, such as "you will NOT pay more than what we estimate"; "we will deliver in 3-days"; "I will give you the sale price" But the truth is: I paid about $instead of the estimated price $3000; My stuff took days to arrive! He adjusted the unit sq feet price higher, hoping I would not notice (but I pointed it out and it didn't make him very happy) My whole family, including young boys and adults, had to wait for our items in the hotel and an empty house for about a monthWhen I called their number, nobody answered and nobody returned my messagesWhen the customer service answered my call, they only told me that it would take them up to business days (not including weekends and holidays) to deliver, which was written on the contractWhen they finally called back about the delivery about days after pick up, they never showed upWhen the items finally arrived days after pick up, it was hours late than the time arranged on the phone If you decide to let them pack up your items like I did, please change your mindThey put things very loosely in the boxesAnd they would trick you to believe that your items are 1/truck full, but when they deliver, you would find out that your items are about 1/truck full Just stay away from this company, you are warned!!!

I would never use United Royal Van Lines again Making the initial reservation was easy The move was very poorly done It started with a phone call from the driver who was obviously not happy about doing the move He had the wrong pidate and no paperwork He scheduled pickup for early morning and was late I got several phone calls from the driver telling me that United Royal had misquoted the move; it should never have been a binding estimate as it was an interstate move Driver took a detour to New Orleans that added hours to the drive They arrived after midnight He got out his calculator to tell me what I really owed In all honesty, he said he wouldn't charge me that, but I was so angry by that point that I paid an additional $over the $quote I've called United Royal I can't reach Customer Service I've left voice-mails and no one calls back I cannot get a person on the phone I did speak with the individual who initially set up the move He told me he took down all the details and get the information to Customer Service to discuss with me He was in agreement that the move was poorly handled They haven't bothered to call back I'm very dissatisfied This is a summary- there is more

I have recently read over all the complaints regarding United Royal Van Lines, it is ashamed how poorly the company has ran their business. We have recently had to go down to the warehouse where all the "storage" is for this company, I am sad to say how poorly they treat everyone's belongings. I have personally witnessed several boxes being labeled fragile and the manager just threw boxes on top of one another. Recently my husband and I had to go to the warehouse to retrieve our clients belongings we did what ever was necisarry to get the belongings in our possession and now we are delivering the said belongings after the company refused to release them without being sued civilly. The Client should have had their belongings over 2 months ago they finally hired us and from first conversation to last we delivered their belongings in 5 days!! If you are having a similar issue please feel free contact [redacted] at [redacted] or [redacted] @gmail.com!!! Good luck to all!!!

Royal united van lines has been the worst moving company I have ever usedI was total my furniture would be packed away properly and it wasn't The gentleman I spoke with was fired the day after my furniture was picked up and everything he told me was a lieI have called them everyday and I spoke with a lady named [redacted] who as been no helpShe told me she knows that my furniture is in a storage but which storage she has no idea and she has no way of tracking any of my thingsI asked to speak no a manager or owner they can't help that if I was told something by [redacted] he was fires cause he lies Needless to say I am no closer to having any information about my furniture

United Royal Van Lines web site states that it does not broker out to third parties, however, on this case they did broker to *** *** The result of this action was that my foot board to the bed was not delivered, thus rendering the bed useless In addition, *** moving did not reassemble my furniture even though United Royal Van Lines states that they disassemble and reassemble all furniture on their website *** *** claimed that because they did not take the furniture apart, they would not put it back together because they didn't know if all the parts were present*** moving also broke a leg on both the dresser and end table As a minor point, our goods were delivered on Sunday 08-02-at 6:in the morning When I agreed to the moving contract I was quoted a cost of $based on cubic feet I provided a detailed and complete description of my inventory and with the minor exception of adding folding chairs and a computer chair, which I was told by the sale representative would not result in additional cost, my inventory did not increase Yet upon piand the cost escalated to $ When questioning the drivers they said the cubic footage went to cubic feet How can this be with no increase in inventory? In further speaking with the drivers they said this happens all the time and it's a error in the computer program that estimates the volume and cost How is this my fault? I see it as a deliberate Bate and Switch Scam or incompetence in packing of the truck Either way I should not have to pay the increased cost

Worst customer experience ever!!!! After they take your money and belongings, you will never hear from them It has been weeks since they picked up my stuff for a cross country move I have had call (after I threatened to call police) to tell me they were packing them that day, and would be on a truckThat was days ago, and still NOTHING!!!! *** (no last name) Senior relocation Specialist refuses to call me back or even answer text message PLEASE do not use this company!!!! Save yourself aggrevation and stress!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. MY FRIEND HAD HER HOUSEHOLD GOODS PICKED UP IN VIRGINIA IN JUNE AND WAS QUOTED ONE PRICE AND AFTER THEY LOADED HER GOODS, THEY WANTED HER TO SIGN A CONTRACT FOR $7000 MORE THAN WHAT SHE WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST. THEY DROVE OFF WITH ALL HER STUFF AND SHE STILL DOES NOT HAVE IT. IT IS A SCAM. THIS COMPANY IS NO GOOD. MY FRIEND IS NOW IN CALIFORNIA AND HAS NONE OF HER THINGS. ALL HER FAMILY PICTURES ETC. ARE GONE. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THIS COMPANY WOULD TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A MILITARY RETIREE AND HIS WIFE WHO ARE IN THEIR 70's. SHAME ON THEM. I AM SPREADING THE WORD TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS I CAN UNTIL SHE RECEIVES HER SHIPMENT.

Professional rip-off, horrible service, significant delay, damaged stuff, and unethical and bad treatment. Worst moving experience I ever had. Would rank this company in negative if available.
I recently used this company to ship my household from FL to MI. I ended up overcharged $2400, the shipment arrived after significant delay, and most of my furniture and household were broken or damaged. Worst customer service. Tried contacting the company by phone, fax, email, and even regular mail to resolve this issue without success.
This company allegedly quoted me much smaller size for my inventory to put me at stress on the pickup day, charge more than in the binding contract, and fix the paperwork to appear I had additional stuff and that a revised estimate was given to me prior to loading the stuff. Further, this company used careless and irresponsible subcontractor, such that my stuff was delivered after a significant delay, most of it broken or damaged.
When shopping for moving services, the moving coordinator in this company was very details-oriented and spent about an hour with me over the phone asking for details about every item I am shipping. This, along with the reasonable quote he gave me, encouraged me to sign a BINDING contract with the company to ship my stiff, which was the worst decision I’ve ever made in my life.
The main issues I have with the company is that they did not abide by the binding contract. They started off by deliberately underestimated the price for the volume of goods I was shipping. The moving coordinator even balked when I suggested adding another 100 cubic feet to the estimate, just in case. He repeatedly assured me that the system they use for estimating the inventory size exaggerates the size for my favor, such that I will end up NOT paying any more than the quoted price. The first thing the moving crew did after arrival at my house in the morning of the moving day was to check my inventory to make sure it is the same as in the contract and had me sign the order to start loading the truck (with the same price in the binding estimate). I was, therefore, shocked to learn, after most of my goods were loaded on the somewhat undersized truck that arrived (by the way, not the fancy truck pictured in the company website, rather a small rented truck), that my goods would not fit and that, indeed, I would be charged an additional $2,400. This was told to me AFTER the workers had loaded most of the goods onto the truck, albeit in a rather haphazard manner. I was told that I had two options, one of which was that the movers would unload my goods and leave them on the ground, or that I could sign a revised estimate (in which they state that it was given to me BEFORE they start loading the truck) due to “additional goods” I had, which is not true. I was, therefore, obligated to sign or I would have been left helpless with all my furniture on the ground before me and no one from the company customer service is answering my phone calls. As a matter of fact, several items from my inventory were removed since I had donated them prior to moving. Furthermore, when my goods (worth of $10,000) were finally delivered, after a significant delay, the subcontractor the company used was extremely careless and irresponsible, that most of my goods were damaged or lost as reported in the delivery form. Add to all this, the damages the crew caused in my house and the significant delivery delay (during which, I tried endlessly contacting the company to figure out about the status of my shipment without success) that caused me to buy new stuff waiting for my shipment to arrive.
I regret using this company for my moving. I would had better sold my stuff instead of having it broken in addition to the expensive moving cost and extra charges by this company!

WORSE COMPANY EVER This has got to be the Worse moving Company ever its been 21 day and I yet have had my belonging deliver to me I have not had any communication with any one from this company about my Items. My bill was all wrong the sale guy [redacted] gave a price and turned out he was not Authorized to give me that price even after all documents where signed. I will keep updating how it goes with company. I base my opinion on this company because of it review so I am posting to help you guys

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. By far the worst company I have ever worked with. My original quote was $1800 and totaled paid was $3000. They lowball the price and end up costing the same amount as every other companyso don't go through the trouble! They were untruthful and deceitful throughout the entire process. [redacted] will tell you anything to get your business...told that they do not subcontract, first month of storage is free, that the square footage is an overestimation, etc. FYI if you read the reviews on other sites that are positive, they are clearly fakethe language used is ridiculous.

My original move date, May 20th, was missed according to [redacted] because they were pulled over by the Department of Transportation and were not allowed to drive because they had maxed their allowable driving hours. Admittance of abusing their drivers. I was then told the pickup would be the following daywhich after numerous attempts at calling found out at 5pm they were not coming. I was then told pickup would be Friday, which [redacted] said he "would give his word they were coming"which at 3pm I was told they wouldn't pick up. Pick-up actually occurred 5 days after the scheduled pickup that Saturday. This cost me $75 for my unused Boston permit and $100 because I then had to have a long distance move. I asked for an additional month of storage ($320) and when I saw the revised copy of the contract (which I was never emailed) I was charged for three months. This was partially corrected after numerous calls but I still was overcharged $72. Despite less goods were moved than in the original estimation, I was over my sq footage my 75ft.

This worst part of this moving company is the customer service. I know other moving companies may have similar issues, but I highly doubt their customer service operates as poorly as United Royal Van Lines. After a few attempts, I learned they do not answer your messages. You have to call them repeatedly to get an answer. This is not an exaggeration15-20 calls/answer. I honestly probably placed 200-250 call throughout this entire process.
Baha's moving crew the only positive part of the experience. They handled the furniture well on the way out, and it was clear that they were not the cause of the furniture's damage.

My delivery date was set for July 1st and the actual delivery date was July 7th. I called customer service three days in a row, and somehow each day my furniture "was being loaded." When they actually arrived, the crew was not affiliated with United Royal Van Lines. They barely spoke English, which made the entire process incredibly difficult. They insisted that they could not fit the truck in the massive loading dock without even attempting, and said that it would cost me $300, despite other trucks backing into the same spot easily. (I later learned the movers directly pocket this money.) Every single piece of furniture delivered was damaged in some manner. I had at least 6 boxes that were not mine brought into my apartment. I'm missing a very pricey end table and lamp, which was no surprise after so many items were brought up that were not my own. Unfortunately, the $.60/lb insurance would give me ~$30 for a $600 table.

The stress is not worth the money that appears to be saved at the time of the quote is given. Use another mover. I will never understand how people can work for a company that operates so unethically.

I have waited a long time to write this review because recalling my moving experience puts me in a bad mood. I chose this company simply because of the high rating on www.moverreviews.com, which is a BIG mistake. The company must have hired some people to write those good reviews, because my experience tells the truth.
[redacted], the sales person, was very nice and responsive, UNTIL your stuff was on their truck. From that point on, he disappeared. No answering phone call and no email replies. He would tell you everything you want to hear, such as
"you will NOT pay more than what we estimate";
"we will deliver in 3-5 days";
"I will give you the sale price".
But the truth is:
I paid about $6000 instead of the estimated price $3000;
My stuff took 25 days to arrive!
He adjusted the unit sq feet price higher, hoping I would not notice (but I pointed it out and it didn't make him very happy).
My whole family, including 3 young boys and 4 adults, had to wait for our items in the hotel and an empty house for about a month. When I called their number, nobody answered and nobody returned my messages. When the customer service answered my call, they only told me that it would take them up to 21 business days (not including weekends and holidays) to deliver, which was written on the contract. When they finally called back about the delivery about 18 days after pick up, they never showed up. When the items finally arrived 25 days after pick up, it was 10 hours late than the time arranged on the phone.
If you decide to let them pack up your items like I did, please change your mind. They put things very loosely in the boxes. And they would trick you to believe that your items are 1/2 truck full, but when they deliver, you would find out that your items are about 1/3 truck full.

Just stay away from this company, you are warned!!!

Royal united van lines has been the worst moving company I have ever used. I was total my furniture would be packed away properly and it wasn't . The gentleman I spoke with was fired the day after my furniture was picked up and everything he told me was a lie. I have called them everyday and I spoke with a lady named [redacted] who as been no help. She told me she knows that my furniture is in a storage but which storage she has no idea and she has no way of tracking any of my things. I asked to speak no a manager or owner they can't help that if I was told something by [redacted] he was fires cause he lies. Needless to say I am no closer to having any information about my furniture.

Carrier canceled move 5 days prior to move date after confirming over the phone 2 days earlier. Did not show any concern in previous communication that the move would not be possible.

Did not offer any assistance except to refund initial deposit. This after the original binding estimate was digitally signed.

I would never use United Royal Van Lines again. Making the initial reservation was easy. The move was very poorly done. It started with a phone call from the driver who was obviously not happy about doing the move. He had the wrong pick-up date and no paperwork. He scheduled pickup for early morning and was late. I got several phone calls from the driver telling me that United Royal had misquoted the move; it should never have been a binding estimate as it was an interstate move. Driver took a detour to New Orleans that added 5 hours to the drive. They arrived after midnight. He got out his calculator to tell me what I really owed. In all honesty, he said he wouldn't charge me that, but I was so angry by that point that I paid an additional $457 over the $1575 quote. I've called United Royal. I can't reach Customer Service. I've left voice-mails and no one calls back. I cannot get a person on the phone. I did speak with the individual who initially set up the move. He told me he took down all the details and get the information to Customer Service to discuss with me. He was in agreement that the move was poorly handled. They haven't bothered to call back. I'm very dissatisfied. This is a summary- there is more.
