No notice was given in writing of the price before my car was removed from the accident scene, nor was there postings in their office for pricesThe final price per hour was no where near what I was quoted when I asked, therefore I feel I was lied to when the company responded to a direct question regarding price, otherwise I would have dispatched AAA immediatelyI had just been struck in an accident and my focus was making sure my car didn't sit on the tow yard to incur any charges, only to receive exorbitant charges that did not match what the company told meBecause of the disparity between the prices that was given to me I feel like this is a matter of fraudAside from that I've never had the manger of a business or representative of a business treat me in such a poor and unprofessional wayIt's true I called numerous times but only because people there were hanging up on me or placing me on hold without notice, brushing me off without ever listening long enough to negotiateZero customer serviceI would have called AAA had I not just had my car totaled after being struckIf this facility in contracted with AAA then they should honor the prices they give their members as an alternativeEither way, no resolution was offered by this business and they treated me like dirt without maintaining a conversation longer than a minuteI have worked in many areas of the auto industry and dealt with tow services from Fontana to Rancho Cucamonga and I have never experienced such a lack of tact, or disregard for a customer

I am not sure what the customer is wanting at this point? He was not charged a lien fee. Again, after days we lien vehicles automatically as a industry standard practice. He picked his car up the afternoon on Tues.the 21st. Our lien processor was out that morning and started the lien process was already started per our lien rep. We did not charge the customer for the lien. There is nothing the customer needs to do at this point. As we have cancelled the lien on our with DMV and the lien will clear itself based on our cancellation request

I am rejecting this response because: I am forwarding the lien notice I received from the DMV. I sent the DMV receipts of the fees paid at the tow yard and have yet to hear back from them regarding the lien.

We have several locations.  Can you please give me more information regarding your vehicle so that I can look it up and as to which location you were at.  A city is fine for the location if you do not know the address. Or do you have an invoice you can provide with fees? We do charge fees....

Most of what has been described is normal fees.  Each day the vehicle is stored the amount owed does increase as we charge a daily fee.  For each vehicle that is stored for over 3 days we do lien the vehicle per our policy and is standard in the industry.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2016/01/14) */
The customer was not our contact for this call. We were dispatched to the scene by Fontana Police Dept. as a result of an accident they responded to. We have a contract with the Fontana Police Dept. the contract dictates the rates we are...

allowed to charge the customer for the tow. We charged this customer our set hourly rate contract rate. All agencies calls are charged by the hour. We were on this tow for approx. 2.38 hours and we ONLY charged the customer 2 hours for our services. She was never given the rate of $137 an hour as that is not a rate we charge. So I am not sure where that came from. United strives to provide exceptional customer service. I can not attest to the conversations that were said however, I do know that this customer repeatedly called approx. 12 times in a time frame of approx. 1 hour. The charges are valid charges and we did give this customer a discount.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2016/01/17) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
No notice was given in writing of the price before my car was removed from the accident scene, nor was there postings in their office for prices. The final price per hour was no where near what I was quoted when I asked, therefore I feel I was lied to when the company responded to a direct question regarding price, otherwise I would have dispatched AAA immediately. I had just been struck in an accident and my focus was making sure my car didn't sit on the tow yard to incur any charges, only to receive exorbitant charges that did not match what the company told me. Because of the disparity between the prices that was given to me I feel like this is a matter of fraud. Aside from that I've never had the manger of a business or representative of a business treat me in such a poor and unprofessional way. It's true I called numerous times but only because people there were hanging up on me or placing me on hold without notice, brushing me off without ever listening long enough to negotiate. Zero customer service. I would have called AAA had I not just had my car totaled after being struck. If this facility in contracted with AAA then they should honor the prices they give their members as an alternative. Either way, no resolution was offered by this business and they treated me like dirt without maintaining a conversation longer than a minute. I have worked in many areas of the auto industry and dealt with tow services from Fontana to Rancho Cucamonga and I have never experienced such a lack of tact, or disregard for a customer.

Mr. [redacted] was not a victim of predatory car towing. We were following all rules and statutes when towing his vehicle. He was parked in an area that is clearly posted. "No parking anytime between the hours of 7am-12pm. The vehicle was picked...

up between those hours. We have pictures of both the sign and the vehicle parked illegally. We have a contract with the HOA to enforce their street sweeping rules as they are having an issue with people violating it. Our tow was authorized by the manager of the HOA. We follow all statute laws. Mr. [redacted] has been misinformed when it comes to the "said" statutes that he is referencing. Furthermore, We did reduce Mr. [redacted] fees that day, we did not charge him any storage.

The company is wrong with their argument. I wasn't disputing the HOA rule that cars couldn't park on tuesdays during specific hours.
The company's response could not discount the fact that my car was parked for less than an hour in front of my house. This was against statute because a towing company couldn't tow a car if its parked less than an hour. I wasn't parked illegally nor was my parking an obstruction to any water hydrant. They argue that I was misinformed, but I got this statute information from the Revdex.com itself.

A refund will not be issued. Once again, we followed all rules and statutes when towing Mr. [redacted] car. The hour minimum Mr. [redacted] is referring to for the statute is only for public property. Mr. [redacted] was parked on private property and the statue does not apply. Once again, we are contracted with the HOA and they enforce the rule of no parking at anytime between the hours of 7am-12pm. Mr. [redacted] was parked in the area between those hours. Furthermore, there is no way to prove if he was parked there for an hour or less.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/10/20) */
I am not sure the issue here. The matter has been resolved. Mr. [redacted] came in today and paid the fees to pick up his car and apologized for his behavior yesterday.
Our fees are posted, he was never told $350.00 I am not sure where he got...

that amount from. The towing is $220.00 and that is set by industry standard for Police Dept. calls. Daily storage is 58.00 per day. The amount could never be 350.00 so I think he must have misunderstood or calculated incorrectly. The customer states 270 + 30 a day even with those amounts it would never be 350.00. We did do our best and waived the lien sale fee for the customer to help him out. I don't believe that he requested a payment plan. We would accept a payment plan if that was his only option, we are not in the business of keeping vehicles. It costs the company more money to do so than to release the car to the owner.
I don't believe there is anything else to resolve as the consumer paid and picked up his car today.
