Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:The
cost of the hub bearing was not found on such sites as *** or ***Are not
companies like *** not also respectable? The cost of the hub ranges from
$150-$200. Here
is an active link of the part*** sells it to public for $125.99, understanding
that mechanics also receive a lower discountTo be charged the amount I was
charged is unbelievableThis is just one example of a vendor of this brand and
product number. *** *This
actual job to replace a hub bearing goes for about $with parts includedNot
the $for the hub bearing part *** *** and an
additional labor charge of $making the final cost of the hub bearing being
$800.I was quoted in person by Tony that to have
the other side hub replaced would be around $Due to this quoteis what
made me go back and question the pricing on my invoiceI called immediately
after getting home to question why I was charged $for the right sideWas
told that if I go and buy the part he would install the other side for free? At
this point would you trust the person to continue to do work after realizing
you were overcharged?I
would also prefer to be referred to as a male Regards,

December 28, 2015Dear *** ***:In response to the complaint # ***, customer brought this *** to our shop for PA State Inspection & Emission TestI checked vehicle for State Inspection and found the right rear hub bearing very noisy, and there was an exhaust
leakChecking further, the right rear wheel bearing was so bad it was able to be shaken from top to bottom about one inchThere should be no movement in a hub bearingThe exhaust was leaking at the gaskets at the manifold pipe to the manifoldIt also needed front and rear brake pads and all tires. Customer was notified about the needed repairs and asked for an estimate on repairsShe was given an estimate of $1,000, without the tires (this was an estimate, not a firm price)An authorization was given to do the repairs and have new tires installedAfter vehicle was delivered a few days later, customer returned complaining about a noise in the left rear of the vehicleAfter a road test, it was determined that the left rear hub bearing was making a noiseCustomer asked how much it would cost to replace that oneHe was told with a tower quality bearing we would do it for about $I don't like using the lower quality partsAlso do not purchase parts from *** or *** to repair vehiclesI deal with parts jobbers, and the parts have list prices that are chargedThe copies of the invoices for this car are suppliedAs you can see we actually charged less than the list on the bearingAs for the tires, I removed the tires and wheels, took them and picked them up from the tire shop and installed them without charging customercharged the customer what was charged to us without an extra charge to herI couldn't have been fairerThe story about me flipping the bad hub bearing to the other side is ridiculousI have retained the faulty bearing that was replaced to view if neededOne more thing -- I give customers the option of paying by cash to get a discountIs this a bad thing?

December 28, 2015Dear [redacted]:In response to the complaint # [redacted], customer brought this 2006 [redacted] to our shop for PA State Inspection & Emission Test.I checked vehicle for State Inspection and found the right rear hub bearing very noisy, and there was an exhaust leak. Checking...

further, the right rear wheel bearing was so bad it was able to be shaken from top to bottom about one inch. There should be no movement in a hub bearing. The exhaust was leaking at the gaskets at the manifold pipe to the manifold. It also needed front and rear brake pads and all 4 tires. Customer was notified about the needed repairs and asked for an estimate on repairs. She was given an estimate of $1,000, without the tires (this was an estimate, not a firm price). An authorization was given to do the repairs and have new tires installed. After vehicle was delivered a few days later, customer returned complaining about a noise in the left rear of the vehicle. After a road test, it was determined that the left rear hub bearing was making a noise. Customer asked how much it would cost to replace that one. He was told with a tower quality bearing we would do it for about $300. I don't like using the lower quality parts. Also do not purchase parts from [redacted] or [redacted] to repair vehicles. I deal with parts jobbers, and the parts have list prices that are charged. The copies of the invoices for this car are supplied. As you can see we actually charged less than the list on the bearing. As for the tires, I removed the tires and wheels, took them and picked them up from the tire shop and installed them without charging customer. charged the customer what was charged to us without an extra charge to her. I couldn't have been fairer. The story about me flipping the bad hub bearing to the other side is ridiculous. I have retained the faulty bearing that was replaced to view if needed. One more thing -- I give customers the option of paying by cash to get a discount. Is this a bad thing?Sincerely,Anthony F.Owner
