My experience with United Appliance Repair XXX-XXX-XXXX

My name is *** 83 years old living in Leisureville Boynton Beach in early Nov. 2019 I contacted United Appliance Repair sometime late Sunday evening via the internet to arrange to have my clothes washer repaired.

I was supposed to receive less the 10 minutes after I submitted an e-form. An appointment was arranged for 9AM Monday. Lo and behold at 9AM Monday the repairman was here. The fast response to my email and the repairman showing up on time I thought I had won the lottery.

Monday morning the repairman starts working and after some time tells me he has to go and get a part. Before he leaves I give him a $300 check. The next day ( Tuesday ) he calls to say he was't on time to get the part. On Wednesday I get a call that the part he picked up was wrong, the box was right the part was wrong.

I called the bank (BoA) on Thursday and put a stop on the check. On Thursday the repairman shows up with the part and spends several hours trying to fix the washer without any success. I am a bit irate and scream that I think they did a lousy job.

Several days later being honest I issued a check for $150 to pay for a service call even though nothing was fixed. Then to top it off the bank did not stop the check because the wrong number was used and now I am out $450 dollars.

Several calls and an email attempt I was assured I would get some of my money back. Here it's the beginning of February and nothing.

My Samsung dishwasher displayed a code in the digital panel indicating a leak.

I called this company and asked if they had experience with Samsung appliances. They assured me they did. I spoke to a guy named *** The following day a repairman named *** called to schedule a time to come to my house. He also assured me he had experience with Samsung.

*** found a tear in a hose, which he showed me, relatively fast and told me the total cost to fix would be $300. He asked for a $150 deposit to order the hose. It all seemed like a relatively simple repair.

A few days later Germane called to tell me the part was in. He came to my and had a lot of trouble removing the old hose and even more trouble installing the new one. Germane became visibly exasperated and started taking the dishwasher apart. He started removing parts that were functioning fine and had nothing to do with the replacement of the hose. He was anything but careful removing components and even pried a part of the dishwasher that can be unscrewed by hand with a screwdriver.

Germane hastily reassembled the dishwasher, I could tell he was frustrated and ready to go. He turned the dishwasher back on and water started coming out. At that point he told me he couldn't do anything else and that I needed a new dishwasher! He left in a hurry.

As I was cleaning the mess he left, I found several screws on my kitchen floor. Obviously, he did not reassemble the dishwasher correctly. I called the number on their business card and again spoke to *** and asked for a refund of my $150. Avi assured me I had nothing to worry about. I never got a refund and *** does not return my calls. I feel totally ripped off!
