Review: In December of 2011 I obtained a business owners policy through:Unity Insurance Brokerage, Inc.[redacted]Tel. ###-###-####; ###-###-####Email: [redacted]Contact person: [redacted]The insurance was reportedly through Morstan General policy #[redacted]. I sent a payment to [redacted], check payable to Unity Insurance Brokerage, Inc. I never received any policy information or bills in the mail to my business. The only correspondence regarding my policy was through email with [redacted]. In November 2012 I emailed [redacted] requesting the status of my policy as I never received anything in the mail. I also expressed my dissatisfaction with their service. He emailed me a copy of the policy and asked me for the payment which I made. In September of 2013, [redacted] called me requesting payment to renew the policy. I informed [redacted] that I will no longer renew my policy with them and did not authorize any renewal of the policy. On 6/*/2014, I received a call from [redacted] of [redacted] tel. ###-###-####. [redacted] informed me that she is with a collection company and states that I owe $189.17 as my policy was renewed and then cancelled due to non-payment. I should not be liable to pay for a policy that I did not renew especially when I never received any bills in the mail or email. This company needs to be investigated as their business ethics are concerning to consumers. I am also not sure how much my policy was as my checks were made payable to the brokerage. If my policy amount was less than what I paid to the brokerage, I should get my money back.Desired Settlement: The brokerage company should settle the collections matter. Also, if the brokerage charged me more than what my policy was, I should get a refund. My checks were payable to the brokerage company as the insurance company did not send me any letters or bills in the mail. I am not even sure how much my policy was as the only correspondence I had was through email with the broker, [redacted].
