Unity Medical and Surgical Hospital received your letter on November 16, requesting information regarding a complaint filed by the above referenced individualEven though indicated that this was a
follto a previous letter, this was the first letter that was brought to my attention
Unity is very familiar with the referenced individual and has tried to resolve his issues on several occasionsMr*** was sent statements showing there was a balance owed after the services he was providedAfter the fifth statement, he was not sent another statement by the billing company that we were contracted with at that timeThe outstanding balance was found when the hospital switched billing companies in Mr*** contests that he paid his bill and even if he did not, he should not have to pay for a service that was performed in Mr*** was requested to provide a copy of his credit card statement showing that he paid his bill in fullUpon this request, he stated that he did not keep his statements that far back and was not planning on contacting his credit card company for the requested information
As of today, there is still a balance due from this patientWe are aware that Mr*** has requested to have his charges removed from his accountHowever, we are contractually obligated with Mr***' insurance company to continue to pursue payment from himThe amount owed to the hospital is his deductibleWe never received any payment from his insurance company
It is our desire that Mr*** provides proof that the payment was made to the hospital or pays the outstanding balance for services he received

I did not receive statements as mentioned in Unity's letter, and they did receive payment from the insurance companyI pay my bills immediately upon receiving the first statement or billI was not aware of what Unity claims to be an open balance until I received the statement two years later, in late To then find out that they changed billing companies reveals a lotI still say that my payment was misappliedHow can they say "that can't happen" when I receive a statement out of the blue after two years?
