The company was hired to drywall and paint after a plumbing project in our strata property The drywalling and painting was confined to the kitchens and bathrooms of two units and to the bathroom of a third unit The following captures the comments of the residents of the three impacted units Unit #- kitchen and bathroom I have no issue with the quality of the work that they performedAs far as their table manners are concerned, that is a totally different story 1- they entered my unit and clomped around in construction boots that were covered in grime from their previous job 2- they did not place throw sheets at any site in my unit 3- they did not bring their own rags to the job, but instead used my toilet paper and paper towels plus one of my face towels to clean up their work site ( the face towel was totally destroyed)One of them even took a roll of my toilet paper with him when he left 4- each day after they left I had to vacuum the hallway and both work sites that were covered in dust and dry wall plaster around the toilet and sink areas 5- one day I caught one of them using my $paring knife for some purpose 6- we had to clean numerous hand prints on the walls (still finding them) Besides that, I have no complaints Unit #- kitchen and bathroom â?¢ My condo was left in an unreasonable mess on more than one occasionPlaster splatter found throughout the condo after every visit, which was completely unnecessary and just sloppyI spent hours cleaning up after them â?¢ The final day was the worstThey did not tape off the kitchen and sanded, thus plaster dust got everywhereNot only was it terrible to live in for days but also every unhealthy to breath â?¢ Tank was not put back on properly on the toilet and leaked in our condo â?¢ The piece of wood between my cabinets was broken- they hammered it back in â?¢ Plaster job is subpar, specifically the corner in the kitchenI wasn't plastered properly and they just painted over it The bathroom job is also not very good and there is clear line as to where the plaster startedIt should be seamless â?¢ Paint job is just BadThey painted beige paint all over my trim with a rollerDid not cut the top or bottom properly in my kitchenDid not paint around the trim and there are parts of the wall they did not paint in the bathroomFurthermore, they got paint on my cabinets as wellIt's just a bad sloppy jobThey clearly did not care about the job they were doing [redacted] The strata paid Universal Star Drywall Systems pursuant to the terms of the contract, less $to cover professional cleaning costs of the residents of Unit #
Final work was decent quality and I am please with the finished product, but the week project came in weeks behind scheduleThe excuse provided was that our stairs were difficult to get up and the boards had to be cut, however they came to site prior to quote to measure and I followed up specifically about whether the stairs would be an issue before our contract was signed and was told no problem
Our floors were not adequately protected, for part of the job there was no protection on our carpeted stairs, there was wet mud in our carpet, mounds of drywall dust and slivers of drywall including drywallers personal garbage (coffee cups, water bottles etc.) left behind at the end of the jobAlso, despite multiple requests to not park in the driveway, our neighbour was blocked in on a regular basis
